I love Game Pass, its an incredible deal for its price, I would hope it stay that way forever.

But due to many reasons, it might not stay that price point, if MS ever decide to raise its monthly fee, what is the maximum amount you are willing to pay? (Ultimate)

It's absolutely the best deal in gaming and streaming in general. That being said I don't wanna pay more than $20. Mainly because of all the other streaming services I have too, that's not Microsoft's fault but they should keep that in mind.

I would very much like to only pay the current rate of $14.99, but if forced to pay more I don't think I'd be willing to pay more than $30.

I voted $20 but really I'd say $25, but I'd just sub for a month or two when a game I want releases at anything higher than the current rate (depending on if BF sales on subs still happened or not, and if they do continue then how good the sale is)

what if they set it at $40 but gave you a cat? 😜

I can only use it on PC, because I do not own an Xbox. I still think the PC version is quite limited. Not necessarily in quantity, but in quality.
Of course this is obviously a personal thing, but most games I already have as most of them are old(er) games and there's simply a lot I'm not interested in even if they come for the price.

For these reasons I never think that highly of it that some people seem to do. It can be a nice bonus or just a few bucks to try and complete that one game within a month. But I don't see it as anything more.

Depends on the content. If they release a AAA game every 4 weeks, 8 weeks or 12 weeks the value obviously goes up or down. The ceiling is wholly dependent on the content, unfortunately i don't have a crystal ball.

I voted $20, but I agree with this. If a higher price results in a more consistent content output then that's fine.

I just renewed my 3 years gold + 1 month top up for 3 years GPU. Did the 3 year gold + $1 promo last time.

So that'll be 6 years GPU for the price of 6 years of gold + an additional $20.

I also split all this 50/50 with a buddy doing home sharing so it's rock bottom prices.

Altogether probably spend $420 all in for 6 years of this. So my portion is around $210 or $3/mth or $36/yr.

If I had to let's say spend $25/Mth CDN on my own Id reconsider it. Right now there is a lot of room to spare.

I'm on PC and so only paying $10. Above $15 and I would probably redo the math. Above $20 and I would be seriously tempted to drop it.

As soon as they stop accepting MS Reward points basically.

Or if they change one month from 12,000 points to something silly like 30,000 points for a month.

Currently good until June 2023 from MS Rewards.

Game Pass continues to offer great games and I absolutely don't mind there's not that many fresh AAA titles. With that said I'm not a fan of not owning the games or at least having them for the duration of the sub with no risk of removal. 20$ would be my absolute limit.

I don't see much on game pass that really entices me. I've had it for 4 months now and barely use it. It's selection of newer great games that are AAA is really sparse. I wouldn't even really be interested beyond its current price point even that is questionable.

There is so much fall out in the streaming media space right now (everyone is raising prices and adding AD based "cheaper" tiers) they are entering maintenance mode in terms of user acquisition.
While it took Netflix, what, 8 years to hit that wall, one should expect gaming services to hit that wall even faster.

I am a gigantic whale when it comes to console games (and just in general), have been for years. I can count on one flipper how many Xbox games I have purchased since game pass became a thing (it's 6 in 2 1/2 years...the flipper analogy failed me). They are going to need to do something to drive up revenue from subscribers.
Sony's approach is actually smart, they have a subscription service (which I think has more users than Xbox gamepass...or am I remembering that wrong?) AND they are still selling their exclusive titles and keeping them off of their sub service for day one releases. So in this case...its best of both worlds for them.

You could argue that keeping their first party games off of their sub platform hurts that platform in the long run (if everyone bought your first party game...they don't a crap when you add it to your service), but so far there seems to be plenty of 2nd and 3rd party titles to fill the offering hole that the first party titles are creating.

I would pay $120 per year for the ultimate tier but I would also like the ability to customize my dashboard: IE remove all advertising from the dashboard.

They remove games from Gamepass...

As long as I can keep earning enough Microsoft Rewards points each month to cover the cost of GPU (therefore costing me zero monies) that's all I want. Otherwise, I would probably only bother with PC Game Pass for no more than £10/month.

My issue with gsmepass is that you cannot buy a yearly sub at a discount. If I had to sub monthly I would sub at a price similar to HBO max , Amazon prime or paramount plus. Game pass PC and xcloud are significantly more expensive than those subs

Also no MS rewards program in my country to pay for the sub

I'm actually on the fence whether i'm going to renew. I'm finding limited game time and how GamePass has changed my gaming habits (i.e. never finishing games anymore) is making me reconsider whether to renew.

I might give the 3year gold to GP another go. But i'm aware of how so much choice, while great, is changing how I game for the worse which i'm not sure I want. Maybe i'm the exception.

15 Would me max for me. 20 would be 240 euros in a year and i would not pay for any subscription, no matter how much i like it.

What if it had 500 euros worth of games per year on it that you'd normally buy?

Its all about value for money they can charge me what they like as long as im getting value for money ill stay subbed, until im not.

If i am honest, it is probably how much i spend in a year on games, but for all consoles and pc combined. Still, it would be too expensive for a year and we are far away from that point with so many good games in a year right now.

If they rolled Gold in to the basic tier they could max the price out at £9.99 (eventually, in years time).

Ultimate is currently £10.99, it can never surpass £14.99 IMO.

Assuming you're talking dollars, my absolut peak price would be around $30 a month. And i'm talking the second half of the gen when their 30 studios should be releasing games pretty frequently.
You cant always look at this as simply the monthly price, you also have to add in how many games are you playing on Gamepass, and how much money are you saving by playing those games through Gamepass.

At that point for me it becomes more of a time thing for me personally.
I feel like 4 AAA first party a year with a few AA, the odd 3rd party and other interesting lower budget games @20 bucks a month is the sweet spot content and price wise

Current price, definitely not more, I'm already using prepaid tricks to get it cheaper. Same for PS+ Premium.

That makes sense, when all of their studio are putting game day one, I think I'll bite $30

Are you talking Gamepass as it currently is, or what it could be once the new acquisitions start producing? It isn't worth more than they're charging for what they have there now, at least to me. I seem to end up buying the key things I really want anyway. I'd guess they need to drop something I want every 6 months to make it worthwhile to casuals like me, perhaps even more often.

With another year like 2022? $5 a month, maybe.

Let's see how 2023 goes. Microsoft eventually has to have some good first-party games for the service.
