Didn't think this game would be so heavy on the survival aspect, you can't even do anything without your "stamina" spiking up hard; went into the first bunker you're told about and got annihilated by monsters...

I think if I'll play this I'll just change the setting to the narrative one.

I got to the entrance to what I think is a manor, the journey there was really fun.

I ended up exploring the dam, making my way through a village and stumbling upon a patrol carrying bows. There was a cool moment where I managed to find some good cover and get a well timed sticky bomb amongst them, wiping them all out. Managed to grab a bow, bunch of arrows and some resources to craft another sticky bomb :)

There were a few other small settlements with interesting things happening. I won't go into more detail though. It seems a bit spoilery since the exploration is such a big part of the game. So far every location I've come across is interesting to poke around, it's definitely feels like one of the games biggest strengths.

So far my only issue has been multiples of animals attacking me.
Bees, Rats, Bats They seem to respawn as I take a dozen out at a time. It's either a bug or a game feature. I noticed I could attack the hive to get rid of the bees but rats and bats no such luck.

PS5 Pro via remote play. You come out of what is basically the tutorial bunker out to this, with no map icons or indicators, just a few vague notes in your inventory. It's the type of game where you look around and just want to check out whatever you see over that hill or down in the gorge.

Gonna try it tonight. I probably shouldn't cause of Shadows but I have 50+ hours in that so maybe a break to beat this shorter game will be good.

No handholding here.

Game treats you like Elders Scrolls: Morrowind

You get “leads” for quests. Can also “track” them. But far as I see, tracking means nothing.

You need to read. Open the map. Go explore.

I’m doing the early mission of the rats in the cellar. I’m being vague. As not to spoil. But… if you’ve played you probably know.

Anyhow it’s refreshing. Enjoying this game

Sounds awesome! 50% done with this bullshit patch, hopefully I feel inclined to play by the time it's done. Wish I had realized it was needed, could have triggered it remotely from work!

Downloaded fresh. No patch. I’m guessing I’ve got the new patch? Was a 47gb download.

But that aside. I’m enjoying it. This game clearly is saying “please explore. Listen. Observe. Use your brain. We’re not gonna give you a golden trail to your next path” (fable 2)

It’s a bit unforgiving and you can’t possibly rush in guns blazing. Doesn’t exist.

Not sure, I preloaded just a couple of days ago, so it must be since then.

Playing on Steam deck btw.

Yeah. Didn’t preload. Impulse $37 buy on CDkeys
Have a decent internet connection that gets me maybe 400mbps download speed on Steam
Yeah that's like almost 10 times my speed. Lol

I’m also wondering if there’s a new patch, maybe I’ll restart it and check

Game can be brutal. I’m in an area with a certain mob that one shot kills me

And theres a bunch of them

Sounds delicious!

Am I wrong In thinking tracking “leads” matters none? Other than a reminder of what you’re doing. But as far as “location”. They give us none eh?

Yeah. Sucks I imagine to have such a speed. Guess I’m in a good area and have been spoiled for many years. I never Blink an eye at 100gb downloads. I do For storage sake. But not “time”.
This is still a huge upgrade for me - it's already 10x from my old speed. So yours is about 133x my old speed. :messenger_grinning_sweat::messenger_grinning_sweat:

it doesn't

it's useful to track them if they have coordinates in them, because when you open the map it will display the lead's coordinates over the map, so you don't have to write them down

they're basically just a reminder as far as I can tell

what is most effective is reading the lead, then trying to figure out where the heck it wants you to go. once you figure that out, I place a compass marker on the map and just go after that

I am tracking a lead trying to find a certain women from a note in a church

But the note doesn’t tell me where she might be lol 😂

Modern games must have warped my brain bc I feel Dumb. But I’m having fun

some leads give the vaguest hint whatsoever. I know I mention coordinates above, but leads that give you the actual coordinates seem very rare

no fast travel is crazy in this game

I've already found some locations I know I'll have to backtrack to which are probably a 20 minute walk assuming I don't run into enemies

I don't mind because the world is very packed with shit to see and do, but it makes you pretty intentional with how you plan out what you want to get done.

at least I'm not super worried about missing stuff since I know I'll likely visit the spot again
You know my early game lead? Lol 😂 help a brother out.

It’s related to the pastor of said church
what's wild is I don't think I've even seen a church yet. I have no idea what you are talking about lol

We in uncharted territory here. I’m enjoying it though. No real complaints. Guess it’s back to old school gaming here

You would know if you’ve been in a church. Something very bad (a murder) went on in it. I stumbled Upon it.

Found notes. Then it led me to other areas and more notes. Etc etc etc

Apparently the MAIN objective is something interchange. No idea. lol 😂 lost all sight of what it means or is

Reading the different feedback in here it does sound like it might be worthy of my time and money. Putting it on my wishlist as I'm deep in the claws of Pathfinder atm.

Thanks for the impressions gaf'ers.

I’m pleased with my hour and half so far. It’s very Morrowind (as in ZERO help)

It DOES have difficulty sliders that I’m sure will guide you through it.

But I’m on default difficulty

Inventory management becomes a real thing

They have a shared stash, but the ones I’ve found so far are at fucking random inconvenient locations lol I’ve only found two shared stashes

I really wanted to bank some of my items for about an hour, and I haven’t seen a single stash

0 idea if I can “rest or sleep” or “store” items

Welp. That’s 2 hours done. Barely can even grasped what’s happened.

Just went into a local bakery and wrecked it. Killed the owner and ate some cake. Which I was Told to investigate a bakery. No directions. Just told I need To. So. Wondered into town and had to find it.

Love that

Enjoying the game. It’s absolutely a fun one so far.

100% on the Deck for the handheld lovers like me

This game has me curious and I’m here for it. Gonna PAUSE the other games I’m playing

This game clearly needs more of my time to figure out what the hell is happening

Only managed to play 40 minutes, but I love how the seeming tutorial is like 2 seconds long. Dialogue, movement, and combat feels a little stiff so far, but nothing I can't look over for the time being. Parkour feels rough coming off of Avowed, but excited to dive deeper into this sometime tomorrow hopefully! So far, acquired miscellaneous melee weapons, rusty rifle and shotgun. Died a few times to some ghoul before I opted to switch to the pistol, felt like I could barely move trying to melee fight the thing!

Not seen a ghoul. Not had a pistol. But have ya made it to the “town” ran by the protocol patrols??

I’m 2 hours in btw

I've been laughing at this for a minute. So you were told you had to investigate a bakery so you walked in, destroyed the place, killed the owner, then had some of their cake?

Did it turn up anything?

I have upgraded several skills but I missed how I get these points to spend. There’s no leveling or exp. Is it simply completing missions or killing things?

Windle Poons

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
I won’t spoiler this because it doesn’t give anything major away at all.

Was told to find a Captain. The Captain is at the bandstand I’m told…

I get to the bandstand nobody is there. Yep, based on my other feedback I think my game is fucked / bugged.
