I have this odd fear that now that Punk has like less than a week to pass Cena's title reign (And crack top 10? Not sure) AJ (Vince) will make a title match tonight on RAW and Cena will win. It would be the perfect swerve. Everyone thinks that because Punk won at the PPV, he's a lock to pass Cena.

The only thing keeping me from believing this will happen is that Punk would be in a title match on RAW against an actually threatening opponent.

Cena's longest single title reign was 380 days, so Punk's still got a ways to go to pass it. I think he would pass it if he held the title all the way til the Rumble though.

Never bet against Everton at Goodison. They're monsters at home.

I wish there was a gif of Adam Sandler saying "Once again things that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!"

Except instead of Yesterday make it say however long ago Keyser placed that bet

Oh. They said on the PPV that if Punk won he would have held the title for longer than Cena did between whatever dates they said. I guess I should have known he had an even LONGER reign that there is no way Punk will pass.

Eh, it's not anywhere near as long as Hogan's original WWE title reign. It was never the same after. Macho Man, Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Sgt Slaughter, Hogan, etc.

Cena is WWE's latest attempt at the Hogan archetype.

And Cena's had the title almost as many times as HHH. After all the dust is settled, he'll pass Flair and HHH combined.

Maybe they'll have Punk get hit by a car in the parking lot to end his reign.

I don't expect much of a response mainly because it's such a hard question, but...

Which wrestling family was more important over the history of wrestling? The Hart Family or the Von Erichs? It really is a tough question, and there really may be no answer, not definitively. Both made huge inroads when it came to talent... while the Harts had technicians and more of a mental game, the Von Erichs had unbelievable charisma and physiques, truly athletically gifted.

Your thoughts?
It's stretching the definition of family, but my answer is el santo and el hijo del santo. Both of them more or less created and carried an entire nations wrestling industry

Summerslam was a great surprise for me yesterday. I doubt anyone remembers this but in Feb when they came to San Diego I got to go to the show for free and hang out with Del Rio after the show because my cousin is good friends with him.

Well same cousin called me up yesterday morning and said he had an extra ticket if I wanted to go. Of course I said yes we drove up to LA for the event.

Tix.jpg

Got to Staples ( my first time going there) was really impressed with the size of it compared to the Sports Arena in San Diego. LA just tends to do everything bigger and better in that sense.

The view from our seats, the crowd was pretty hot overall and pretty smarky. ( Kobe Bryant chant when the Prime Time Players were wrestling) Our whole section was family members of wrestlers we had Titus O'neil's family right in front of us and some of C.M Punks either friends or family directly behind us. There was a pretty funny and awkward moment for me when Punk was celebrating and jumped up on the guard rail and was signaling to the person right behind me and I totally thought it was for me. *shame*

As great as all that was the best part was having dinner with Alberto and his family after the show. ( No Ricardo Rodriguez this time which is too bad cause the guy is hilarious and just goes on and on about the other wrestlers ) We went to a Korean BBQ place in Little Tokyo which was fantastic. Del Rio remembered me from the bar in Feb and was super cool and totally down to earth. I was really surprised how cool and candid it all was. ( He even apologized about the seats he got us saying they weren't that great. I was like no way those are easily the best seats ive ever had, guess they were sold out and he had to go to Vince personally to get them)

His little boy is a total Kane mark which was really funny as he kept imitating him and playing the theme song off Alberto's phone. Heard some really cool stories and talked all kinds of wrestling and even football ( soccer ) with him. Had a really REALLY great time.

Everton also have HORRIBLE starts to season (usually), and have a bad history against United anywhere (W1 D4 L9 in last 14). United also won more points Away last season than they did Home.

There was a decent chance of United winning :/

Aiii

So not worth it
I'm so jealous Ryck, I want to call you all kinds of bad names. Lucky bastard.

However, this November, for the first time in my life (29 next month) I'm going to see a wrasslin' show. When Smackdown hits Europe.

He joked about that, he was saying how people are always surprised when they seem him not all dressed up ( he was wearing a plain white T-shirt and jeans) and driving a mid sized rental car.

Not with their midfield dude. They're going to have a rocky season with that midfield. :p

I can just picture him getting out of a Hyundai Sonata the same way he'd get out of like a Ferrari F430 or something lol.

Yeah, I agree from what he was saying he doesn't seem to mind though as they have a good friendship and work well together.

Hahaha nice mental image, the car was a mid tier tho, chrysler sedan of some kind. Last time he had a GT Mustang ( after Smackdown in July) not sure what he was driving when I met him in Feb.

That sounds really great of your cousin, and awesome of Alberto to get the seats in the first place. I always love hearing about people i see on tv being really down to earth and fun to hang around with. Glad u had a blast.

WHAT HAPPENED TO KAYFABE?!?

Sounds like a really awesome story. The family and friends story bit cracks me up since I used to go a lot of Orlando Magic games this way and thought Dwight Howard (that traitor) was always pointing at me when he was really just pointing at somebody else near me. Never got old.

Also I noticed a debate about Fred Durst being escorted out. Imo he left on his own accord, he was also escorted into the arena by the same guy, same thing with Rick Rubin. They walked right in front of us since we were right between the floor and the camera walkway gap thing ( sorry I can't be more eloquent).

Imagine the potential trauma for that kid if there is ever a Kane/Del Rio feud.
LOL!

Especially if Kane goes after family members like he did with Orton.

Yeah I felt really foolish and of course everyone I was with kept laughing about it the whole ride home. "remember when Rick thought CM Punk was blowing kisses at him" -__-

Thats awesome i was there as well my seats were lower than yours but you have a better view especially when everybody stands up for big hype moments.

Were you on the same side? Did you see that guy that looked just like CM Punk?

I was on the right by the announcers Table sorta by the gap where the camera crane would pass by. nah i didnt see the CM Punk guy but there were some girls there by your side that looked bored out of their minds. They were on their phones for half the show and they ended up leaving before the main event.

Yeah I think I know those girls they were a few rows back, some dude in a vest suit and an all access pass came and took them away. From listening to their conversation ( what? she wanted people to hear) it sounded like one of those girls will be trained soon to work with WWE in some kind of PR job. She kept going on about it haha.

Seemed like the girls popped when Cena came out and that was it.

Del Rio vs Sheamus at Night Of Champions and it ends with LOL Brogue Kick?
Was gonna make a joke about Raw ending with Cena's music but 1. its lame and tired and 2. I didn't want anyone to think I actually knew important stuff. 3. It seems plans change constantly and some decisions are made basically right before they walk out to the crowd for the matches.

Sounded like a blast, Ryck! Glad you had a good time.
Thanks I totally did, it was my first time ever at a PPV and I savored every moment. Talking to my friends who ordered it they seemed to all agree that the show was average at best but being there really changes your perception.

Wonder what the total buys were for last night. The card didn't look very exciting but the actual PPV itself was fun.

I'm guessing it did poorly.

I'm going to guess 250,000 buys (down from previous Summerslam and right around the same, maybe lower than Brock's debut PPV)
