Just seen Valerian, probably the best looking movie this year (so far) with the shittest actors

Yeah, girlfriend and I saw it last weekend. Really pretty looking movie, pretty decent story, good alien designs, and it's all brought down by the two most wooden actors humanly possible. The guy who plays Valerian in the movie sounds like he's doing a shitty Keanu Reeves impression.

I really liked that movie

The leads were a couple of awkward weirdos and it was the best. Dane Dehaan doing a bad Keanu impression for some reason

I actually thought Cara was quite good but if people hate Dehaan in his role and she's bouncing off of him it's not doing her any favors

Watched Shin Godzilla again last night. Yeah, that's a five star monster movie

This is very different than Godzilla style monsters, but my favorite monsters recently have been in the books by China Mieville. They aren't the easiest books to read (and some should be approached as a kind of world building travelogue), but really creative. He wears his politics on his sleeve too, being a socialist, which has put some people off, but whatever.

Perdido Street Station has one of my favorite monsters ever. I wouldn't watch this though if anyone has an intention to read the book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvj4IIpKAME

The Scar is an amazing book too set in the same universe. The City and The City doesn't have monsters per se, but is a really incredible police procedural and social commentary.

Valérian also has some low key sexism with its title. The title of the comic book its based on is Valérian and Laureline and of course the big Hollywood adaptation conveniently cuts the woman's name from the title. That and Laureline is arguably more important to the plot than Valérian is

Haven't seen Cara act well in the movies I have seen her in. I don't know why Hollywood is so obsessed with her, she needs to stick to modelling. The other dude just plays himself, which is a boring ass with a monotone voice

Jason Jordan has a very strange voice and it's going to hold him back in any promos. He sounds like the "white guy voice" that some black comedians used to put on in their sets, but it's his real voice.

I Wanna Be The Guy

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
Jason Jordan should be being positioned as a heel, not a face. Smug asshole taking advantage of the perks of being Kurt Angle's son is a character fans could care to hate.

This Jason Jordan angle they're running is going to be a very quick reminder to everyone why Jason Jordan was floundering in NXT until Chad Gable showed up.

I have decided to read the GOT books.

Now it's a contest to see what happens first. I finish reading the current books out, or the dude actually finishes the last two.

I like reading but I never give myself the time to, and once I do...it puts me to sleep.

Nakamura apparently almost killed Cena, and won!

Also, Bailey is hurt now. I don't know if it's because of Nia Jax. Might be old news but barely found out this morning.

Yeah. Seems to be that match.

I guess I gave her too much credit for selling it since it seems legit.

If you ever decide to go to an ROH show (and why would you) I'd recommend grabbing their dumb ringsider sub beforehand. Didn't seem like anything was reserved from the presale (besides cheap seats), I prolly coulda gotten front row if I didn't make the mistake of trying to pick out seats as they all disappeared from being selectable lol

It's almost as if Nia is green and being pushed entirely too early.

But I guess in Vince's eyes being a member of the Anoa'i family automatically gives you a +10 in wrestling skillz.

Reading generally makes me drowsy too. It depends on the book you end up reading though. Right now I am reading "The Name of the Wind" which is the first part of the Kingkiller Chronicle. I found myself looking at the clock at 3 AM the other night after reading it, needing to be up at 6. It just evaporated time. Books like that are generally few and far between though.

I would heartily recommend the book to people after a fantasy novel. It is very good.

Yeah we shall see. I think already knowing the characters in the TV show will help me get through it. Being bombarded with so much info at once would hurt my brain.

Also have a stack of Akira graphic novels waiting for me.

I was going to say something along those lines. The GOT books bombard you with so many names and places and other info it can be really frustrating early on, until you get your head around it. Having already watched the show should make it a lot more easy to read. The books are really good!

*edit* I should have gone to Death Grips tonight. Fuck money forever.

I actually want to see what Chad can do, I really enjoyed his match yesterday. Their break up has way more upside, then say Enzo and Cass.
Well yeah. Both Gable and Jordon are great workers. Cass is a so-so big man, and Enzo shouldn't even be wrestling matches.

But Gable is really small, and Jordon hasn't developed mic skills or a personality that stands out. So we'll see. I like both guys a whole lot, I want to see them succeed.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"

They're doing a rehash of the original Kurt storyline already. That's why Miz asked about the boos.
