Oh great, shit-talker Amanda has made it to TV. Fantastic. Whoop.

To chime in on the discussion I missed whilst catching up with all of this week's content; I'm rooting for Randy Orton this weekend. I've very quickly lost my interest in Brock Lesnar since his lacklustre performance at WM32 and since finding out about his publicly-stated views on gay people.

AJ Styles - I'm giving him one chance. He's used the 'faggot' slur in the past and unfortunately as recently as last year, but as far as I'm aware, he's not gone as far as to say that he actively dislikes gay people. He's in WWE, he's got something of a fresh start with a new promotion, so I'll support him as long as he keeps his nose clean in that regard. But that's it: one chance.

Really?

I videoed it and my brother watched it live, and when I got home the next day he told me what had happened, so I blind fast forwarded through the swimsuit competition and crossed my fingers.

I'd always assumed he saw it, but I guess he could have read what happened on the net. What exactly did they show when she came out then?

The segment was there and it was obvious what she did, but there was a huge censored symbol over her... Thank fuck.

All I read is that, Randy is losing since Menome is rooting for him. YES!

Just like Anderson Silva all over again he also claimed that the steroids he got busted for were in fact a sexual stimulant.

The two substances he was popped for are the two most common chemicals used after an anabolic cycle and absolutely wouldn't be cross contaminated with a batch of Cialis, which is a prescription drug.

That's the point I am getting at - he offered up a lame and completely implausible defense as an excuse for his bust. Nobody believed a word of it but once his suspension was up UFC swept it under the rug and kept on going.

Suspension up? Isn't he on the hook for 4 years from USAA?

Anderson was suspended for one year plus a fine. Also it was the NSAC not USADA who he got popped by.

No he has fought twice since his suspension against Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier he lost both times.

Nick Diaz who I think you are referring to got a frankly insane 5 year suspension which has since been drastically reduced he will be eligible to fight against soon.

Sorry, I was referring to Jon Jones who tested positive to two banned substances which I though each carried a two year suspension.

I see. Never mind I thought you were referring to Anderson.

Moving on.

Happy to see Eva Marie got herself suspended for violating the wellness policy, wish Vince would just fire her already and replace her with someone who can actually wrestle but that's probably not going to happen sadly.

So in 91 bill watts gave a interview to Wade Keller where he disses blacks and gays. Well tje weird thing is, Wade was still in the closet at the time. I could only imagine how awkward it felt for him to hear what Bill had to say. Dude was such a d bag.

Aiii

So not worth it
Ichiban fighter Shinsuke Nakamura.

They never referred to him as that, right? That's just a shop guy going, wait, we need something Japanese on here! Quick, someone look up what "Best/Number One" is in Japanese!

Could have at least used actual Japanese writing instead of just putting it in Romaji, terrible form.

They played the audio of the interview on Between the Sheets and it's much worse than it reads. It some really fucking heinous stuff, the venom he injects into the homophobic slurs is just disgusting.

Watts is a bigoted piece of shit, for sure - reading his book kinda put it into perspective. He's one of those who feels that by being Born Again all his prior sins have been absolved, without actually making any effort to change his character, to be more accepting or to atone for his wrongdoings. In fact, throughout the course of the book he almost seems to revel in his cuntishness - there's a wistful tone there, one of a man reminiscing about the years gone by when he was powerful and could exert that power upon others by being a bully, an abuser and a bigot. Then he switches right back into his preachy Born Again bullshit.

The line-up for Mania weekend next year is fucking ridiculous;

Thursday:
-Wrestle Pro
-EVOLVE

Friday:
-Revolution Pro
-CZW
-PROGRESS
-Evolve
-CHIKARA
-Kaiju Big Battel

Saturday:
-SHIMMER
-CHIKARA
-WWN Supershow: EVOLVE vs PROGRESS
-WrestleCon Women's Supershow
-Beyond Wrestling

Sunday:
-WrestleCon Supershow

And that's before you factor in Mania itself, the HOF, NXT, New Japan and whatever the fuck ROH are planning. INSANE.

I have to admit, I am pretty fascinated to find out how Cody Rhodes does tonight at EVOLVE. I know WWE guys have gone to the indies in recent years - Drew Galloway, Alberto but Cody is the first guy who has done it since I really got deep into the wrassle. He's been "inside" his entire career, guided, for better or worse by a gigantic corporate organization that has been up until now, extremely insular.

He also has a family legacy that few others have weighing down on them or conversely, one that opens up so many doors. He's also a survivor of that oft talked about "lost generation" of Laurinaitis curated talent in the mid-2000s, perhaps again off the strength of his family name but I like to think it's because he actually does have a spark of real talent in there.

Not to give an unflattering comparison but he struck me as a someone suffering from Dolph Ziggler-itis than Ziggler himself. He cut far better Youtube promos that got passed around, exasperating fans that this isn't what we were seeing on TV, his character degenerated far faster than Ziggler's slow slide to where he is now (although Dolph is getting his one last shot now and doing well with it), his in ring work had severe peaks and valley (Stardust squash #2156 as opposed to Rhodes vs Shield) and there was a malaise around him, a stink of midcarder for life that was utterly inescapable.

What I liked about Cody best, in the brief time I was around to see him work in WWE, was his on camera skills. His presence, his dedication to (shitty) characters, his mic work. his acting skills. None of which are all that in demand on the indies. Sure, EVOLVE has an absolutely intriguing, multi-layered promotion wide storyline going on right now but that's twice a month, at absolute maximum. Otherwise Cody is going to have to really show that he can bring it in ring, every night in every shitty school gym, nightclub, sold baseball stadium or wherever.

Can he do that? I guess we are going to find out.

On the one hand, Cody's first two matches on the indies are very safe, as it's hard to have a bad match with the likes of ZSJ & Chris Hero in 2016 - but, on the other hand there's a lot of pressure to deliver in-ring considering the year both those guys are having. Hero especially can seemingly get a great match out of anyone, so it would be somewhat of an early downer to Cody's indie run if he manages to stink up the joint with Hero.

That sounds like the worst person imaginable.

Is that new Nak America shirt using the "Rickshaw" font? For real?

Big Cass on his influences

I get that comparison a lot. I watch a lot of Kevin Nash's matches. I use a lot of his stuff. I definitely use a lot of his mannerisms. Kevin Nash had a swagger about him. A lot of those things that I watch kind of rub off on me."
