What was it?
A fan wrote in complaining that his 100 buck donation didn't get to the top of the pile then talked about how awesome CM Punk is. Came across as very entititled.

One of the hosts got pissed off a little because it came across like he was trying to tell the hosts how to do their own show. Almost took him out of the hopper they use to pick the show.

Then at the end of the episode when they pull a name up at random....his name shows up.

Next Lapsed fan will be about Money in the Bank 2011 and it may end with a live shooting.

Or I'm getting worked but Damn it was intense.

The sexual harassment was well received here, in fact, I was shouted down for not liking his promo.

Wrestling fans seem to like it when the product is tailored towards the bottom feeders. There was even a wrestling gaffer openly wishing that the WWE would allow men to hit women again. I'm with you, friend. Like Bret said, people don't watch wrestling for sex, and I feel sorry for any parent who has to explain to their child what it means for Jericho to say that Enzo's penis is "sawft."

Just be grateful you weren't accused of gimmick posting.

To be fair it would be the most progressive possible move to position men and women on equal footing in this fake athletic competition.

Stephanie McMahon must get her comeuppance or I won't finish!

What would you say to the people who go to Lucha va Voom?

Also the sex jokes would be fine with me if the show was going for that audience. Instead it's a kids show that airs at primetime whose main audience is men over 40.

Their main audience at Monday Night on the USA Network for the live showing is men over 40. However, on Youtube and other social media networks, where they're one of the most popular destinations on the Internet is a whole other question. There's a reason why you can basically watch every important part of RAW on WWE's channel by Tuesday morning.

As for Lucha Va Voom, I'd guess the crowd is 1/2 hipsters and 1/2 weird SHIMMER fans.

That's going to be a good show, when will it be ready? I know Meltzer is only there for WM or SC but the background going into that show was something series.

They don't make jack shit on internet or social media.

Right now the WWE makes about 24 mil in profit and it would cost them about 30mil to cut back 1 hour on raw.

Their money is in TV and they try to be edgy when Vince feels like it but they still have to now down publicly to Hasbro and NBC.

I mean look at the fake blood they used with Roman from this year.

NXT proved you can make a compelling western wrestling product that is PG that isn't relying on blood.

The problem here is that the joke was, no pun intended, low hanging fruit. Lazy writing.
On second thought, I take it all back. The sex stuff should stay out considering they are using this women's division to inspire a generation of girls out there to empower them. Charlotte has an action figure any kid can buy.

Shit is unnecessary
but he said 'How you doin'?' so it's funny, right?

The women simply aren't trusted to carry a segment on their own, simple as that. #DivasRevolution

I didn't want to get involved -- and I may not even think to check this tomorrow since I'm going to sleep -- but what filth did my boy Enzo spit?

I'm of the belief that any sex jokes are fine as long as they re actually funny and not inherent to any one particular sex over the other.

Both your posts are true.

A sex joke can work if written well but this is wrestling and in its current presentation it would only limit the things the talent could say or hurt them.

Ultimately wrestling should be about setting up confrontation and fights and at some point when having sex brought into it won't work unless guys start saying their profanities.

Though sex or the implication of it was a huge part of the Macho Hogan feud so there is some history of it as an effective draw.

Who in the F is keeping Eva Marie in the business? Horrible
You haven't heard or felt heat until you have been in an arena during her entrance or match.

Closest thing I would imagine her entrace at Brooklyn would be Canadian Stampede 97 or some crazy ECW promo that got fights started.

Enzo and Sasha were the worst parts of that segment. Charlotte and Jericho were gold together and ran circles around them.
100%

Jericho comes out to protect the honor of the perfect princess from the disrespectful brat

Enzo comes out to hit on someone he's had zero kayfabe interaction with thus far. (and doesn't have chemistry with beyond both using dumb millennial speak)

Some of the mic shots were admittedly funny but it was super weird. Maybe it also would've worked better had they at least sortof built up Sasha and Enzo talking

Otunga sounded like he was reading prepared lines, or at the very least repeating whatever what was said to him. Same Cena promo for the 100th, two non-match women's matches though being spared Eva Marie and Becky dying inside wasn't too bad and I guess other stuff, Carmella should've been given the chance of coming up with her own thing before being brought up and Apollo Creed O'Neil is still in dire need of a personality. Am I supposed to care about Ziggles or Bray? Oh yeah, AA debuted and that's cool but the crowd, how many fucks did they give tonight? This roster has so much damaged goods being the "rehab roster".

Much better show than last week and maybe it's just because I'm tired but... Ehhhh.

And yeah, the Sasha/Enzo thing was pretty terrible.

Yeah exactly.

This boils to bad creative that's an understatement.

In an ideal world, these characters need to move forward. Every program needs to further these characters, every segment needs to further said program but you won't do any of that with lazy quips and dick pussy jokes.

Coincidentally, as a build up to summerslam , the network is showcasing all past summerslam. The other night, '91 played. People went fucking nuts for macho man and Elizabeth. Why, because it was a new point for their characters. One that had been teased and seen obstacles along the way. People buy into these characters.

I think right now, these characters are missing an arc. Cesaro is a prime example. What's his purpose for being? To do a handful of spots and put up two fingers after his opponent breaks his attempt at a pin. There's no agenda.

Even the top dogs. What's AJs motivation? Roman? Seth?
That's why wrestling used to be and why it used to be better.

They can't do that because they have so much tv to film and they are lead by somebody who changes his mind so much they rewrite shows after they air.

Since they went public they are afraid to have arcs. Sure they have steaks but those they often balk on. Now they have guys go out and spout their catchphrase and do some quackenbush flips.

Roman and his relationship with the fans should be the most compelling story in wrestling but it's being ignored. Or when Cesaro had that shoot after smackdown.

Right now the people who get the entertainment part to the sports entertainment part is the people at Lucha Underground and Matt Hardy.

Keep her as a broadcast journalist or something and give someone who wrestles a match.

It is a waste of a spot for cheap heat
I can't say the response to Eva is cheap heat. Cheap heat is just insulting the local baseball or football team of whatever city you're in to get automatic boos. Eva's got legit heat, WWE are smart to use that for her character instead of pushing her like a face anymore.

Her issue is the fact she can't wrestle. But asides from that, WWE has a lot of uses for her.

God we need more of this.

People and commentators treating promos and statements like they matter or they came from the performers Heart.

Honestly DBry should straight up replace Cole. From a storytelling perspective and having a level of trust with the fans makes him so great at making things seem real.

We are coming up on almost 20 years of Cole and the man has 0 calls or moments that people remember him by.

Yeah he was the guy that called Eddie vs Brock but nobody remembers what he said.

Yep, we should replace Cole with the guy who flubs every other line and doesn't know the name of the performers.

It's crazy how easy Matt Hardy makes it look but he most definitely gets it.
Matt has a plan, he has an idea for where his character is going, he set out on that plan and probably knows exactly when it will end.

We can't say that for the WWE.

Their top guys have crazy schedules and the guys they want to be the top guys often get rejected by the fans because of poor booking.

Just look at that shit final relation they tried to do.

All parties should get blame for that and frankly The New Day should know better than to be in an angle like that.

I would argue that Mike Cole's "THE STREAK!!!.....................is over......" call is every bit as fantastic and iconic as "my god they've killed him."

I'd take the emotion and reputation Bryan has over Cole being able to properly call Breezango doing a michinoku driver.

Vince was a very effective announcer because he knew where the booking was going and he could get over the storylines.

Gorilla had a level of respect with the fans for being a prior performer and for putting Bobby in his place or rooting for the good guy.

JR would talk about the emotion of the baby face and how the odds they faced weren't just physical.

Tony Schiavone before Russo and things going to shit would talk about the histrionics and the tradition that was being upheld or defiled.

Cole brings up hashtags, talks in corprate limgo, relies on puns like Miracle on Burbon street, and puts over his bosses instead of the presentation.
