A better build would be Bryan doing a Stone Cold style ring assault and taking out numerous guys before taking the RKO out of nowhere.

But that wouldn't be believable in the slightest. And the people Austin took out during that stuff were nameless "guards" and shit like that. He never blew through anyone built as important as The Shield.

No, that would be rushing a BRAND NEW angle. If Bryan dismantles the whole Corporation on Day 1 of the new angle, what's the point?

This was a really great Raw. It seemed like they're actually building up storylines everywhere. Corporation 2.0 ft. The Shield portraying Three Big Boss Mans and Randy Orton as Randy Orton.

Yeah why didn't the roster attack the Shield?

I mean, attacking the boss's rent-a-cops seems like a really good idea that wouldn't lead to you getting fired!

Orton's in the background because it's not about him. The whole thing is about Bryan's chase to be the champion now after everyone has stepped on his neck and dumped on the idea of him being champion. It's basically an updated version of Stone Cold vs. McMahon and it's working. Just like during The Rock's first title reigns, he was in the background because the ultimate thing was Austin chasing the title to stick it Vince.

Not sure he played the "background" per se...But still fun to see -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI8oM_5W2Tg

I'm kind of shocked wrestling fans can't see what a build is in 2013.

This isn't a series finale folks

Yeah, no shit. Everyone fucking complains when they don't do long-term booking. Now they are doing incredible long-term booking and everyone whines because they don't get what they want immediately.

Nailed it.

Does Bryan go on from here to dismantle The Shield one by one? Does he go after Orton directly? Is there a match between himself and HHH in the cards with HHH putting over "the future"? I'm intrigued to say the least.

I'd be cool with that.

And yeah. It's pretty obvious there's going to be some kind of HHH match in the future. Could I see them bring HBK in as either D-Brine's trainer, working against HHH because as his best friend, he knows him best? Or maybe vice-versa? Yes. Yes I could, and that would be awesome.

I didn't like the Shield being out there, it should have been Stephanie's "security" guys from earlier. Everything about the Shield being out there and having a ramp full of babyfaces watching them beat down Bryan was just dumb

How do you seriously fight against that? All the bosses of the company, no one seemingly has your back....seriously, tell me how?

I like that they've given ME a reason to hate Triple H, Vince and fuck...ANY villain in WWE at this point but really......how do you fight against that?

Even Austin was given a fighting chance against Vince....they make it seem like Bryan doesn't even have that.

Someone tell me how you'd book this thing, I wanna know. I mean, even at the height of the McDrama, one of the McMahons representing a controlling portion of the company gave the wrestlers the others were trying to hold down a chance....but this?

And I'm sorry, I don't see Shane or Linda coming back for this angle....it could be a foil, but not really believable at this stage.

Vince is supposed to turn face eventually...

I agree that this is a masterful way to amp up Daniel Bryan even more now that Cena is off for 4-6 months. Also nice on getting the Shield to be the attack hounds for HHH. They already dominated everyone so might as well be the enforcers for D-Bry to get through.

Remember when HHH injected himself into the summer of Punk?

He is at again
This story is 100% about Daniel Bryan. HHH made himself the protagonist of the Summer of Punk II, but this story is starring Daniel Bryan. HHH is just the villain he's fighting against.

BURIED TO THE STARS

Annnnnnnnd buried.

Wow... Daniel Bryan got buried. SHM

I have never seen a squashing of a main eventer like this.

Damn, what a soul-crushing ending.

How long have you guys been watching wrestling? This is how you make an audience pissed off and build sympathy for a good guy. It's face booking 101.

The way I see it, Bryan is going to be put through the ringer and we're going to see what he's made of in a series of matches against guys of HHH's choosing. Each victory will result in McMahon and HHH losing their shit, until THEY start in-fighting and explode. It'll all somehow come to a head at the Royal Rumble or WM30 with fans popping hard for Bryan FINALLY winning it all on the grandest stage.

Let's look at history.

Austin refuses to leave Anaheim RAW. The police have to fucking wrestle him down and arrest him.
Bryan leaves with the security guards willingly.

Austin disrupts the WWE Title coronation by driving a fucking vehicle to the ring and laying everyone the fuck out.
Bryan walks to the ring by himself, right in the middle of a huge trap (Admiral Ackbar might as well be on the fucking commentary team) and gets his ass beat down by everyone.

I'm seeing a difference in quality here.

Have you read half the posts from guys here? 90% of the time its about how shit the product is without even acknowledging that it's come leaps and bounds over the years. Yes, they fuck up royally, but they have churned out some amazing things.

CM Punk is a top level super star,
D Brian is a top level super star,
Dolph Ziggler is on his way up,
Alberto Del Rio is incredible in the ring,
El Generico, Claudio Castignolli, Samurai Del Sol are all set to debut.

The Wyatt's are the 2013 version of the Ministry of Darkness.
The Shield is fuck awesome.

We have some die hard fans here, but I am totally into the product these days. NJPW while might have better wrestling (like ROH in the past), is still my second preference.

Basically, if the news is correct Vince is going to go face eventually. So my guess is by Survivor Series the turn begins.

The only person that looked bad there was Orton it was like he was a kid again who didn't know how to do anything so HHH handle's everything.

It would have been better had D Brye kicked everyones ass in the ring, took the title and made Stephanie give him a blowjob

This is the freshest angle we have had in a looooooooooooong time. Punk's title run was cool but didn't really get hot till the feud with Rock.

Corporation 2.0 with DB as the face AND no Cena for a couple of months? *TEAR*

The difference is, they're making it seem like Bryan is even more the underdog and has to fight that much harder against really unbelievable odds.

Damn I'm liking what WWE is cooking these days. It smells good.

Austin as a character didn't give a fuck. Bryan as a character wants to fight with honor. Huge fundamental difference between the two.

yeah, it felt less like a build towards making Bryan a star and more of a public stoning just because.

And I get that it wasn't a burial, but it also wasn't that interesting to me. I also don't buy into the whole "JUST LET IT PLAY OUT" stuff because Kevin Nash, so screw patience with this company.

We'll see where this goes, i guess. My money's on triumphant Cena return to help out D. Brine, cool down his heat with smarks, and eventually make it another Orton/Cena feud.

Woah woah woah, don't bundle me in with those dolts. WWE wanted to have a soul crushing ending and they got one. I didn't say it was a burial.
