You could issue a press release right now on behalf of anonymous if you wanted to. There have been contradictory press releases in the past. See the ones about Westboro.

So should I be expecting a large jump in graphics/performance from the 360/PS3? I'm getting the iMac 27" 3.4GHz SB Quad, 4gig ram, 6970m 2gb? I'm sort of over console gaming at the moment, I'm hoping steam brings me back into gaming in general.

I used to primarily play console, but ever since I got my new PC a few months back I haven't touched my 360 once.

Yes, expect a large jump in graphics/performance. I can't go back to 30fps now.

Yeah. It's kind of crazy to think that TF2 launched without Goldrush. God damn that map is good.

Badwater is still king of the payload. Frontier is also a bit of fun on occasion, but it can take ages to play a round. Played around as a battle engie the other day on a few cp maps, so much more fun than normal turtling. Ever since I started using the direct hit as a soldier to take out engie nests (2 hits is all it takes) I've found myself unable to play as an engie on payload maps.

Metro. Why u so bad???

Change your timetables to reflect a more realistic time only to still be behind by 5 minutes. At least the tram was on time for the first time in weeks.

Metro and their trains turn me into choc, it's scary!

Just about to leave the office but I get a quick email from a colleague with a video labelled 'Oops!' so I watch it before walking out the door.

It's footage of a police officer on foot getting hit at high speed by a sedan and now I feel like throwing up.

Here's a couple gameplay videos:

Light class using SMART: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIYwWQ13ANU

Heavy class: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhqnzDwFopQ

There was another light class video but Bethesda shut it down. Bastards! There's like one day till release, how about showing some gameplay footage and marketing your damn game?

Bethesda's marketing for Brink has been atrocious. If I hadn't loved what I'd seen early on and assured myself that I would be purchasing the game I wouldn't touch it unless word of mouth was stupendous. The best marketing for Brink in the immediate lead up to its release has, for me, come from a SA poster writing up sections of the strategy guide, and some short clips from people who got the game early for 360/PS3. That is a marketing failure. I'd really like to see some of these CoD players avoid using the iron sights though.

Hell yes! Got my mark for my shitty, half-arsed, barely researched "assignment" with a total of 3 references (all internet based). 77%! If I get a decent mark on my next assignment I won't even have to turn up to the exam. Score!

Was it about Mad Cow disease? That is one I could see them asking about, considering my parents couldn't give blood for a long time because of it.

I picked up Dead Space and was going to ask if any of today's sales were worth picking up. Not particularly interested in their MP, more for their SP.
MoH:Airborne is an enjoyable romp in single player if you like WW2 games. I really enjoyed the airdrop at the start of missions and the weapons system. For $2 you can't go wrong.

Blaming shit on Anon is hard because Anon is more of a label than a group.
Exactly. Because the members are anonymous you can only use the label Anon as a vague guess rather than a catch all. I could throw some poop at someones house and then put up a report claiming it was done in the name of Anon. Most of the actions are being run by people who generally want to cause a reaction, for better or (usually) worse.

Normally don't like to pimp stuff here, because I know it's kinda frowned upon - but I interviewed the MD of Good Old Games about pricing in Australia if you guys are interested.
Always good to bring the thread back to the topic of games Serrels! Also examples of proactive journalism are worth being pimped. Especially when it is on the topic of TW2. :)

Well, what a fucking thrill that was. What a fucking rush that is. There's no way I'm not being a journo now.
Make sure to work your arse off and do everything you can to get into the industry then, I know a lot of people who wanted to be journos but weren't able to make it. It's tough going but if you can focus on what you love about the job you will hopefully make it.

No more thinking Mr Cookie. Just get involved. Don't doubt yourself or worry about anything other than the moment in front of you.

I have not touched my 360 for a while and i was surprised at the quality and quantity of the games on there now, both in the arcade and games on demand sections.
> When did this happen? i've obviously been out of the loop for a while.
> Also can anyone suggest some good games for chilling out. (currently enjoying Geometry wars 2/castle crashers).
Really? The Arcade has always had a great selection of games from pretty much day one. Unfortunately most games launch at 1200 points nowdays which is a little over the impulse buy limit. I recommend keeping an eye on the deals of the week and looking the games up on x360a or something to get a glimpse at what they are like. Playing Raskulls at the moment and it is great fun for a puzzle platformer, SMB is another great game but is pretty damn hard. Beyond Good & Evil HD holds up well if you never played it and DR Case Zero is super cheap and a great 4 hour taste of the Dead Rising series. I also recommend Chime, Carcassonne, Costume Quest, DeathSpank, Ikaruga (super hard), Lara Croft, LUMINES!, Magic the Gathering, Monkey Island 2, Plants V Zombies, Rez, Scott Pilgrim, Shadow Complex and Trials HD. Also Braid and Limbo if you are into artsy games but I think they are overpriced.

That happened to a policewoman on the Ring Road near my place, she had pulled someone over for a check and a car came past and took her out. Wasn't that long ago, pretty messed up.

I'd have to assume that nobody managed to tape that incident and then distribute the video with comical captions, though. I find that just as disturbing as the fact the incident happened in the first place.

Yeah the only copy of the incident would be from the cop car itself.

Also this is the article Serrels was talking about. There is some great stuff discussed here that I will refrain from quoting just out of respect for the article. Certainly deserves a read and I am glad to see that the Manager of GOG understands the retail v DD situation so well. I am very glad to hand them my money.

1 minute late by metro and I get home at 7 instead of 6:30ish, although there's a 4 minute gap on an earlier train and they can't even manage that.

I need a punching bag or something. The amount of anger bottled up can frighten me at times and most of it comes from the trains being so shit.

Must not punch or break things!

Clover moore has lost it

Sydney City Council has a revenue shortfall as people are getting less fines for parking because they are obeying rules

so they are going to raise the price of parking because people aren't getting fined in line with revenue expectations

1. You should not be allowed to forecast revenue of fines. It's fucking bananas. A fine is penalty not a fucking revenue increase to pay for shit. If everyone does the right thing you don't punish them by raising prices.

2. How is this legal? Its bananas.

3. Australia is fucking insane. Confirmed.

1. Put more bike lanes in the city to reduce the amount of cars.

2. Watch as parking meter revenues fall due to this and other things

3. Complain

4. Raise parking meter prices

5. ??????????

6. Profit!

Didn't say it was better, said it was the best *since* Community and Sunny. I've seen a few sitcoms over the last year and a bit, I now have my top 3.

Glad you said sitcoms as Archer should be AT LEAST top 3 in all genres.

Edit: The League. Episode 1. "Just the tip!" Yep. I am going to enjoy this show.

While we're advertising video game eBay links:

Halo: Reach Legendary Edition
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180661034518&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

It's used, but in absolute perfect condition. Only thing that has been out of the box is the actual game. Unfortunately I used the DLC code for the flaming helmet though, which is a shame. Has just under 2 days left. No bids as of yet, but four watchers! Fingers crossed.

On a better topic, what's the deal with Brink? I played the beta on PS3 and thought it was complete rubbish. No one was working together, it was just a bunch of people running around aimlessly. Not to mention it was incredibly easy to get kills, I'm no good at FPS games on console, but I dominated, almost never died -- and I still didn't enjoy it. If reviews are positive I'll check it out in a Steam sale but right now I don't get the hype.

That's console gamers for you. Its a team based game, so if you're caught alone, you're pretty much dead. It certainly seems that way from the videos.

The developers have a pedigree in MP and I have complete faith in them as this is their baby from the ground up.

What is it and why should I watch it? I'm about to finish the trimester so I'm looking for a new TV show to marathon through while I'm on my break. Perhaps I am about to find the one.

Ah, okay. To find out (maybe) more information, check out http://yourbroadband.com.au/. That's pretty much the only way I could find out the specifics of my neighbourhood.

I firmly believe the only way this neighbourhood will see more fixed-line broadband options is with the NBN.

Of course, that doesn't matter now that I'm on 30Mbit cable :D

Haha, nice. I don't think I'd know what to do with a home connection that fast. :p

Depends on how long your break is. It took me half of yesterday and since I got home from work tonight to rip through the first (6 eps) and second (13 eps) seasons. Was not a dull moment in the whole thing, though I can definitely picture it getting a little stale in the third or possibly fourth seasons (if it gets that far) a la Sunny.

Oh, to answer your q from before rs, I actually kinda like my job in Melb. Both for what the job is and that I think I'd go stir crazy if I was in Geelong for work and downtime... it balances out quite well :)

In other news, the HDMI module seems to be dead in my HDTV as it is unable to interpret any signal on either input. FTA and composite is fine.

Also dead as of today is my launch BC PS3... happy day.

I'd never talk to said person again. Anyone immature enough to find that funny is not worth spending a brain cell on.

Considering moving to Melbourne? Would give you a lot more time in your day. I hate that I waste an hour a day travelling to and from work. Just have to convince the other half that living in Waurn Ponds would be better than Lara.

Porn. Mostly just porn. After the first 2-3 months you have already downloaded all the random stuff you can think of. At that point it is only the odd new thing that pops up (like The League for instance).
