AusGAF 9 - F*** Off, We're Full (Of People With Different Ethnic Backgrounds)

What? Of course they are. What relevance to their finances does the version sold being censored or not have?

Obviously I meant more legal copies and less illegal copies. You're so far doing a very poor job of defending your "fuck Deep Silver" position. I was baffled before and I'm no less baffled now. Blame our censorship laws, not the companies that get caught up in them.

Hey, another person who feels the need to tell me I'm doing a bad job of defending something. Cool. You seem to be doing a bad job of defending Deep Silver. SO we're even. And illegal copies now? What are they, boat people?

I do blame our censorship laws, I also blame stupid companies that region block and geoblock and IP block.

But hey, lets just take it. If we can only be angry at one thing at a time we better make sure it's worth it :/

Edit: Look, as I said, maybe you have info I don't, if so, present it. As far as I know, Nuveem contacted DS for ww keys and were rebuffed.

Given that there is an actual law against them, they're even worse than boat people. Of course if you want to get technical, it's the process of bringing them across the border that is illegal, not the media itself, but I assume you wouldn't need that pointed out to you.

Every company that has something RCd does some version of this, so I guess fuck all video game publishers?

Bringing digital keys across the border? So Steam will be in the shit since they allow cross region gifting?

And please see my edit:

Edit: LOL, yes fuck all the publishers. Anyway, I am just a hateful angry man, who apparently hates unreasonable and has unreasonable expectations, lets drop it.

Err, yes. Do you think it's legal just because it's digital?

So Steam will be in the shit since they allow cross region gifting?
As a high profile method of getting RC'd content, it wouldn't surprise me that they'll find themselves with a stern letter at a some point, but who knows.

And please see my edit:
I don't have any more information.

Nuuvem emailed me, asked me to cancel my paypal claim and they will refund immediately (otherwise it would take a while). I did this, half an hour later I got a refund.

I like DA Fred.
Except I don't think it really is a case of Fred playing Devil's Advocate. Australia has refused classification of the original version of the game and Deep Silver are now trying to assure that all Australians are getting that version of the game.

Regardless of what you think about the decision that the Classification Board made, Deep Silver are only trying to do the right thing, even if that decision is distasteful to Australians. They can't be seen as willing participant in people bypassing classification decisions made by the government. If people buy ROW gift versions via steam for us, Deep Silver really can't be held responsible for that.

Dead Man: you don't seem like yourself today. Is everything okay?

y not amazon?

How far in advance do big w release pricing? If its $79 ill just buy it on launch from them, as beatthebomb can't guarantee launch day (though they say they will try).

This thread is making me so fucking proud of GAF.

I just hope it works and she's OK

It also makes me realise that if I ever go off the rails you guys would easily be able to get my name, work address, home address, phone numbers, etc within minutes :p

it's possible that it reset itself. I'm looking at the code so hopefully this won't happen again when I fix it.

How easy is it to run the bot?

It looks like a good solution for Games.On.Net, as we currently have IRC and Steam chat for admin and hacker calls.

Oh good, I was a bit worried about cancelling it. Will do so now.

I had previously bought numerous things from Nuuvem and had no problems, so when they started offering cheap worldwide keys for SR4 I didn't hesitate.

Will hesitate next time though :p

Both are imports though, if I want to wait more than a week after release I would just order it from the UK and would get it the same time.

A week? They normally have stock a day before AU release. I'll just walk into the DC store on the 17th and pickup in-store.

BTW did you or Jintor end up ordering the black matrix style trench coat from banggood? Mine arrived today, for $25 it's pretty damn great. Fits perfectly, light but still warm. I feel bad about the $200 coat I bought last year :(

Dungeon Crawl website says
Due InStock: week commencing 23rd of September 2013

At least I know OGS send out their pre-order stuff a few days early to us, wouldn't expect it to hit my mailbox until the 23rd still though.

I want a cheap copy on the Tuesday! :(

Typically in their catalogue the week of release. Sometimes they have preorders up on their site which could have a price, but it's likely to be cheaper once that week's catalgoue starts.

BigW is $94.

They'll no doubt have it cheaper at release, though. They always have a lower price for the first week or so of release. I'd expect $78-ish from them.

The one thing I love about EU4 is the way it makes me go and read up on history of a certain people or culture or historical event/period. Constantly fascinating to see how those things play out compared to what really happened.

Random video game anecdote.

Back to talking about pre ordering some video game.

Is EzyDVD the same as WowHD and Video Ezy? Wouldn't recommend that family of stores for new releases if so. Had Wonderful 101 preordered there and it went from preorder to backordered after release so I just cancelled and picked it up from Big Dub for $68

I obviously don't mind the week or two wait if I'm importing, but another week on top of that is bullshit. Don't offer preorders if you're not going to have your shit ready to go, arseholes. Not like I did it the night before either, order had been in for a few weeks.

What system is everyone buying gta for? I can see myself playing the online component a bit.

PS3 when I eventually get it. Probably won't play online a lot, but I don't have Gold so if I even want the option I've gotta go that way. Don't think I'll be picking it up any time near launch, though.

Think I will skip GTAV for now. I just finished SR3, now playing through SR4 and then I might get back to FNV, after that I think I will have a break from open world games until Watch Dogs hits.
