Some good news for those interested (What the heck, Rez, I'm talking to you:lol )

Good news to our Australian fans, the Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition will be coming to Australian retailers at the same date as the standard edition. We do not have a source who is allowed to be revealed, but someone within Capcom’s Export division today confirmed that we will be receiving the PAL limited edition in Australia. A reminder of what this looks like:

So it seems that previous sites have falsely reported otherwise! I guess it’s safe to disregard that then!

It's pictured in the blog. You get a pretty tin case, a steelbook thing and a making of DVD.
 
So the rumors were true; Capcom Europe have just informed us that THQ has been appointed as sole distributor in Australia and New Zealand for all Capcom products in the two countries. Capcom's big titles Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV are still on track but the release date for Dead Rising: Chop til You Drop is currently unknown. We'll be seeking clarification from Capcoms' new THQ overlords.

So you want them to set up, pay staff, rent, shipping, marketing etc among other things for the trickle of games they release here that don't sell?

It's cheaper to go through someone else.

They'd end up just hiring experienced people here anyway so it's moot. And they'd still have the same cost and logistic issues current distributors have.

I think it's $129. I've pre-ordered it. I know I should feel like I'm getting [figuratively] raped, but I want the pretty tin and the making of. Plus, I'm a dirty Resident Evil whore.

SFIV next week! I need to play some games with some of you guys at some point (even though I'm kinda shitty). :)

Join the club :D. If I had a snes pad in hand I would be pretty decent but I will be playing IV with an arcade stick, so it's going to take a while to get used to.
 
got FEAR2 yesterday, love it so far. It will hold me over until SFIV next week anyway. I won't be spending much on games for quite a while after that :). Apart from Killzone2 and SFIV costumes and stages.


I just hope my T.E stick arrives sometime before next Thursday.

If the Lizard Lick site is to be believed, they won't be shipping them until Wednesday next week :(, that's assuming they are talking about the US release date.

edit: Then again, I am probably reading too much into it, as it only says the "Street Date", in fact, it seems they want everyone to have payment finalised by the 9th (basically today) so they might ship this week, here's hoping.

It's going to be $129.95 here. It's just an extra case and DVD, but the RRP is $119.95 so it works out to be just $10 more. I wonder if THQ will lower the price now >_>

As for if I'm going to be getting the Limited Edition, I'll be getting MORE than just the Limited Edition. :D

Well on Play Asia, the SF pads now say March 2009 - so I'm pretty damn pissed off. Someone please, PLEASE link me up with an australian online store which are going to ship them I'm going to cry here... :lol

Play Asia really AREN'T sending them before FEB 20? I mean seriously this is garbage; can't even import on time.
 
Question for those who have purchased from cdwow before.

I ordered SF4 and the release date is the 20th. Will i get the game around the 20th or will it ship on the 20th and it will rock up at the end of the month / early march?
 
CDwow will more than likely ship your SF4 games on the 20th and you will get it just before the end of the month.

I also don't think they would have gotten enough stock, so people who have recently ordered will be waiting on their next shipment.

As for KRudds money, now $900 handout, it will only be going to "The Government yesterday cut the cash handouts to low-income workers and single income families."

Sucks, i won't be getting shit again.
 
Just a heads up to anyone that has ordered an LE from Lizard Lick, they have confirmed to me via email (I requested the info) that they are not expecting their first shipment until the end of March, however there is no confirmed date at this stage.

I am of 2 minds about picking this up, on one hand it looks like I will be waiting till late March/early April for my TE, on the other damn I want this game, decisions, decisions.

Every staff member is informed as far as I am aware. Though I am not sure they'll have them ready for store open, but they are definitely getting them during the day.
