And the river is going to go up by another 2M, I think I better get more supplies tonight.

The short-haired presenter on ABC 24 Hr is a milf.

That may be so, but she is terrible at making up questions on the fly. Jeremy Fernandaz (who was on earlier today) is their best presenter, such an awesome voice.

I concur. Jeremy is a pro.

Milfy presenter's name is Bridget Glanville - an appropriately milfy name.

oh hey, a call centre has been set up for people worried about relatives.

:lol

They keep repeating the same footage.
HOLY CRAP at footage of the city. It looks like night!

I hope my mum makes it back from her walk!

EDIT: I'm sure she'll be fine as our suburb (Bethania) is not really under threat, though it's constantly raining here. I have no idea why she suddenly put on a raincoat and wanted to walk through the rain... :/

Fucking hell. Bligh doing live conference and she looks like she just walked out of a coffin.

The worst is yet to come.

You guys still watching ABC24? Anna Bligh saying Brisbane is gonna be hit worse now than in 74.
If she handles this well she might get some popularity back, on a side note.

That thing is pretty big right?

Bligh has said that it will be worse than the 1974 floods. :\

Imagine how much worse it would have been without the dams.

Makes you wonder how bad it would be if they hadn't built the dam after 74.

edit.. beaten

Not to derail, but I have to say she could get some better ratings out of all this.

I just like how she's not reading from notes while Gillard looks more scripted than a Call of Duty game.

Couldn't help but laugh.

Gillard looks like she's attending a funeral every time she gives a speech.

She watched Beattie style all over press conferences.

Gillard watched, uh, Crean and Rudd.

She's doing pretty well, considering how little sleep she's gotten. I reckon she could pull together enough support for the next election, if she handles this right.

ABC 24 is saying it will be over 1974 levels. Bloody hell QLDGAF, stay safe. Also NorthNSWGAF.

So it looks like I'll be stranded at work with the incoming flood waters, and nobody here seems to care. They're all sort of joking about it, how we can sleep here tonight.

Not happy.
They just want to be able to say the slept with you, Lexi. :D

Big fucking boat.

I'd get puffed running the length of it. That's how big.
Fuck, that can't be good. As amusing as (what I'm assuming is) a big wooden boat floating down a main street would look, that's gotta be fucking dangerous if such a thing would happen.

This just keeps getting worse... very much a feeling of deja vu from the Victorian bushfires :/

Yeah, I'll give her that. She seems to know what she's talking about, and there doesn't seem to be any reading whatsoever. Props to her.

Anyone got flood maps for Ipswich? I need to know if I'll need to get my Mum to higher ground.
As Bligh said, it is better to be over-cautious. Tell her to pack away the absolute essentials and to get to higher ground. Personal safety trumps all belongings.

My suburb is in Evac in some parts. So far I'm OK but my place is pretty low so who knows, sounds like tomorrow will be the killer.

Projector and Xbox and sound gear have been moved up stairs as a matter of priority.

Stocked up at Woolies everyone is on some end of the world type shit and buying everything in site. Of course I followed suit. I now have beer and wine to last me to the end so I'll see you all in hell.

Right now my biggest fear is no power for gaming if I'm flooded in. I've got the car packed and ready to roll out if need be.

Hope you are all safe, if you have a boat PM me for details and you can moor at my back deck for a beer.
