It's like the lead-up to Origin.

Going forward we must keep moving forward with the Queensland Spirit.matt404au said:We must keep moving forward.
Damn. Keep safe. Supposed to be a deferrment exam of some sort tomorrow at UQ, but I doubt that will happen.mandiller said:This is just near my place in St Lucia, Brisbane. The ferry terminal is underwater and the water is rising. I hate to see what tomorrow and Thursday brings. Hopefully my place will be okay.
The net and power is still going fine. I'm keeping a constant eye out on the weather warnings.

Grug said:If I know my geography, Bargara is near Bundaberg, about 5 hours north of Brisbane.
That area, along with many others has been flooded significantly. I'm sure your friends are okay though. No deaths reported from there.
She reminds me of sheldon.Sew said:Gillard is a bad PM and she should feel bad.
Grug said:Meh.
People are dying and/or losing their homes and livelihoods.
The rhetoric helps some people.
It's just a general info page. ICC site's down and their link to the flooded street list goes 404. Damn it.jambo said:

What?Kanyon said:I work at the bottom of Edward Street, in Brisbane and we were all sent home at about 12:00pm today because the Brisbane River has broken its banks and was going to flood.
Ended up having to sandbag to boss' waterfront property nearby... What a team player!

Yeah, he is a team player for doing that, his boss is a dick if they made the employees do that.Soka said:I think he is saying he had to help place sandbags around his boss's waterfront home and is proclaiming that this makes him (Kanyon) a team player... I would agree with this statement.
Times like this it's best not to head out for a gander, aside from putting yourself at risk you can also get in the way of emergency workers. Always ticks me off when there's a bushfire near my home and people decide they just have to come and see it, which pisses the CFS off no end.speedpop said:Want to go for a drive out near the river to see how bad it might get in my suburb, but I don't want to risk it :lol
viciouskillersquirrel said:Looking at the list of Ipswich streets (WHY DON'T THEY JUST MAKE THE GIS MAPS AVAILABLE ONLINE DURING THE EMERGENCY - GOD THE IPSWICH CITY COUNCIL IS USELESS), my Mum's street is subject to partial flooding.
Only problem is that it doesn't specify where since she lives on a long goddamn street that rises and falls across some big hills. She doesn't appear to be near other streets that are named as flood-projected, which is a mercy.
The flood in her area is meant to peak between 11pm and 1am tonight. We'll see how things go.
shanshan310 said:Does she live on one of the hills?
I dunno, might be best to bring her down to Brissie, just in case.
