I kind of want to see if the Civic Type-R makes it over here and if it does how they compare. I know the Civic will be FWD with around 290+ HP I believe. That's going to be interesting I guess.

Edit: man GAF has some well to do individuals...talking about dropping deposits on 85k cars like it's nothing :). Here I am talking about Hondas and Fords LOL. Oh well I'm only 23. One day.

ain't nothing wrong with those cars

Anyone can finance a car, it's not really a big deal.

Wait... Why are these cars are different? The Red one looks like a GTS (same side mirrors, same vent, same door as the GTS), but has the wing, new seats and new front bumper of the GT4.

Weird...

I believe the red one is an old photoshop mockup. The blue one is an official Porsche picture.

God damn it. What the fuck happened in these last 24 hours. Jesus Christ!

Ok, let's get through this:

1) Let's not hate on each other in here, we're supposed to get banned in other topics and then laugh at that person here for a month.

2) Ford Focus RS: AWD is the key that has been missing all this time to get me to care about hot hatches. Would be very interested in an RS/RS3/Golf R showdown by /DRIVE or Motortrend, or someone.

3) Ferrari 488 GTB: Again, guys, natural aspiration is dead. Manuals are dead. Your future is dual-clutch turbos with electric engines helping generate more horsepower and torque. It's a good thing.

Also, what in the sweet jesus fucking christ is happening here:

j3rhG7YUOPrGU.PNG

Yo dawg. Yo...

I think I like it more than 458, but I don't love it, or even...like it, really.

4) Nissan Maxima: What the fuck is going on by the D pillar of that car? Looks really front-heavy, and last I checked it's still on a FF platform. Yuck.

5) Porsche Cayman GT4:

Again, guys, natural aspiration is dead. Manuals are dead. Your future is dual-clutch turbos with electric engines helping generate more horsepower and torque. It's a good thing.

Nevermind. GOD DAMN.

HNNNNNGGGGGGGGG.

How do I tell my girlfriend I'm no longer paying for a wedding in Hawai'i?

Anyone can finance a car, it's not really a big deal.

My friend's brother just financed an Altima with an 8.5% APR. He said he got a killer deal from the dealership! :^)

My guy said $2k refundable. If it's refundable... then... done! He said gotta wait until configuration to put an actual order in with Porsche though. I dunno... i'll have to think about this.................................................................................................................... darn it! :p

Same thing my guy said. You retain flexibility if you ultimately change your mind. My guy claims that he's already fielded multiple calls about the car. Getting on the list now is pretty much an all-upside deal.

The question is whether Porsche will actually limit production on an $85k car.

If they do, this is the next 1M.

That GT4 is fantastic. Ofcourse, the key is to buy a stripper model and track it immediately.

I'd honestly that over the C7Z all day.

Also, belated grats on beating your track time! I keep forgetting to congratulate you.

I'm going to start doing PDX one of these days, my boring-ass A4 just doesn't compel me hard enough to do so.

I get this feeling the GT4 will hold its value for a very long time. While we may not be looking at the next 911 GT3 RS 4.0, this car may even appreciate.

Considering the driving ability of the average car enthusiast, this really is the perfect sports car.

Man, I wish. Please tell that to the line of financially-stretched enthusiasts that tried to step up to buy my 6-speed manual F430 Berlinetta. (Finally sold to someone who, yes, paid cash.)

With banks offering 1.24% on $xxx, xxx loans, it's practically an automatic decision if you're a highly qualified buyer. Still, my Scuderia registration has no lienholder listed. The title is in the car, sitting in a FedEx envelope in a sleeve attached to the alcantara firewall behind the passenger CF race bucket. Bought that paper not much differently than a BluRay at Best Buy. And I just realized I don't recall where I left the also-unencumbered title to my other F430 F1. I'm old school like that. ;)

What a great fucking day for car reveals!

Here it is folks, the Porsche Cayman GT4! Available ONLY in 6 speed manual transmission.

3.8 liter flat 6 making 385HP. Nurburgring time equivalent to the 997.2 GT3 at 7:40.

0-60 in 4.2s and top speed of 183mph. Sales start this July at a WAY lower than expected $84,600!

Will be calling my Porsche dealer first thing in the morning to get my order in. :D

Thanks man! It's a great feeling being able to take something that high performance to the limit. Get out there! the car doesn't matter. You'll have fun.

The question is whether Porsche will actually limit production on an $85k car.

They said it will not have production plaques marking the numbers of the car. But it will not be a mass production vehicle, and they doubt they will make anywhere near 3000 cars. They specifically said they're not capable of producing many of the cars.

The engineer of the car said not to expect 4000 or 5000. It's just not going to happen. But they will make them as long as people order.

So, expect the wait times to be loooooooooong.

It's times like these I fucking HATE having all of my money tied up in a company.

I hope you're right. They nailed the formula perfectly with the upper GT cars. Have you seen the prices on 3RS cars these days?

Things will happen suddenly and altogether once your number is called. :)

Yeah, not surprised the GT3RS hasn't depreciated much. It's the last you can get with a stick now. Still can't believe the new one is a DCT, of course assuming there will be no RS version.

And yes, I've been trying to be patient for my number to be called. I'm hoping it happens soon. Running a digital advertising biz is taking its toll on me.

Anyone can finance a car, it's not really a big deal.

Bwahahaha. Tell that to my bank who said the lowest APR they can give me is 10%. 8% if my dad co-signs on it. :(

And yes I do have shitty credit... but mostly because I started on it 6 months ago when I got my 1st ever credit card haha.

4) Nissan Maxima: What the fuck is going on by the D pillar of that car? Looks really front-heavy, and last I checked it's still on a FF platform. Yuck.

Worse is, Nissan still says it's a 4 door sports car.

Yes, a 4 door, CVT wearing, fail wheel drive sports car.

The Nissan IDx and the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge are weeping right now.

It's a great feeling being able to take something that high performance to the limit. Get out there! the car doesn't matter. You'll have fun.

I agree. I've had my Miata for 3 years now and I've taken it to AutoX a couple of times but I've never really hit that limit until a few weeks ago during that Miata meet when it lost traction and I overcorrected in the backroads causing me to almost shit my pants lol. That was quite an enlightening moment for me coz I've got a better understanding of when it can break traction and now I find myself breaking traction on purpose instead of driving it like a proper Miata, you know where it'll just carve up the turns lol.

Smokey, no need to take it to a track. You're in Houston right? Just head west to the Hill Country. Lots of twisties out there with barely a cop in sight. Just take those roads at the posted speed limit and learn them and when you're comfortable to with it, go faster in 5mph increments up to the point where you don't feel safe anymore. It's not gonna get you to the ultimate limits of the car of course, but you'll be able to get a sense of your driving skill and a taste of what the car can really do.

That's kinda the same process I did when I got my new suspension 6 months ago and well, let's just say I'm glad gas is getting cheaper and that I have an Escort Passport on my dash haha.

I swear I'm gon get me a black Hummer one of these day. Shit I might sell Mary K to get that pink Escalade.

Hummers are not that as much fun to drive in (both of old & last gen). Its shocking how little room there is relative to the size of the car. That said, its fun to tear up grass & mud (my rich redneck friends had hummers) if you have some land to do it in.

Honestly, I think my point still stands: anyone can finance a car. Doesn't mean they'll get the interest rate they want OR it'll be a fiscally responsible venture, but they'll finance it.

I prefer to pay cash, but I'll finance if the APR offers the right incentive.

A colleague and good friend is getting a 2015 Black Edition GTR. Will finally get a chance to ride in one. Can't wait! Man, I could see myself in a Cayman GT4...

LOL. Believe me, I have no shortage of friends that I go out with and talk to everyday. Never have growing up. I'm also extremely good at making new friends. If somebody's getting cranky over someone else on the internet (on a videogame forum, no less) there's a whole cluster of issues that need to be worked on with that person. It's why I don't care if someone calls me toxic.

:)
Counter to intuition, the book is less about making friends and influencing people than it is about being more understanding and all around better to other people, with influence coming as a benefit.

I sported this avatar longer than my 'Kerby Byront' avatar. :p

I decided to resurrect my Chael Sonnen avatar after news of Silva's doping. :)

Haha ok. I've only been around since '13, so I didn't see any other.
Just a lil' babby.

*Pac NW fistbump*

Ex-PDX, now live in the Oly area. But I used to do track days on my WRX at PDX, and did some fun laps in the passenger seat in a neighbor's track NSX and Mustang Mach 1. It's a great track.

2016 Ford Focus RS. 2.3 Ecoboost. over 300 hp. and AWD.

Damn look at that thing. My love for rally is well known, and i'm in love with that style... Well, I said I would possibly be trading in my new WRX in 2-3 years, looks like it'll be a reality. Hopefully Subaru pulls their head from their ass and gives me a reason to go to their dealerships at that time and puts out that "rumored" STI.

People are getting great numbers from that 2.3 (and the FA20DIT) already and this is an "improved" kit. Can't wait to see what it does. Your move Subaru.

Just tried to spec it to what I want, and it hit triple digits... sad day lol.

Same here. $101k. lol. I think I'd rather buy the C7 Z06 at that price. Or a 911 Turbo.

I guess I'll have to test drive back to back.

Even at $100K, I still think it's the best driver's car available. Corvette's are a dime a dozen and the 911 Turbo is made for a different purpose altogether, not to mention it costs about $70K more.

GT Porsche's are always special and amazing at holding their value. A naturally aspirated, manual, mid-engined, lightweight sports car in the year 2015 is something to be admired. Mark my words, as more manufacturers move on to AWD, turbos, paddle shifters, hybrids, etc, this is going to go down in history as one of the very best driver's cars ever made, and I'm willing to bet my hard earned money on it.

It's not like I'm well versed in driving high performance cars of any kind, but I'm honestly surprised the backlash against what you mentioned hasn't come yet. Low weight does seem like a popular thing to brag about lately though.

Is there much of a waiting list for it? Seems like a car that would be in high demand.
