They should've left the cape for this very reason

Pretty much. He atleast has a shot with Korra as she learns that he's not a complete scumbag. Asami has nothing against him but doesn't really care unless I change my mind about it at some point. Kuvira however gives no shits. Every other girl is a minor character, so they're a mixed bag. He has the looks for it, but I try to make personality be the major focus of romances.
Out of the women on Korra Kuvira had the biggest set of brains any way and minus the bullshit that they forced her to do actually had a lot of inner strength. I really can't see her caring too much for Mako's crisis of character and his motivations. Regarding your interpretation of Mako I think the show started out with some elements of it, but it just wasn't brought up that often in the show. Like how in season 3 Mako and Bolin reminisce about sleeping on trash piles, but it really doesn't make him sound like that much of a concerned forced parent since at that point in time it sounds like Mako still didn't grasp that much of a secure life...now if Mako took up something like carpentry so he'd know how to make sturdy shelters for him and Bolin, and as a means to make money it would've definitely showed that his mind is always about providing a better life for him and his brother.

Oh god lol, is that SSKuvira? And yes they should've kept that fucking cape, Char got to keep his cape and they drew Char in the fucking 70's. Kuvira bitch slapping people with her cape would be glorious. "You can't take my Zaofu! *Fwap* "Fuck off Su, this my shit now."
Oh god.

They later photoshopped Su's face on Wolverines in the bottom pic

All Kuvira ships are bad.

Actually, Kuvira & Bataar is the only one I like the idea of mainly because of the fan comics that fleshed out their backstories.

The whole Suyin-Kuvira ship is still gross, Jaded. Not happening in my version.
Those two had so much tension in the show they must have been fucking at some point in time. Other than that. Su was nothing more than a failed mother figure for Kuvira. So coming to that conclusion after getting dumped by her parents had to fuck her up pretty good. Kuvira did seem to idolize Su, probably to an unhealthy degree actually. Some of it actually does make sense considering her abandonment issues. She probably wanted Su all to herself, was probably jealous of anybody taking time away from her and Su, only one of the family I could see her liking was Opal.

I just can't abide by that one man. The Dude doesn't abide.

Regardless of anyone's personal opinion of Bataar himself, he is a significant figure in Kuvira's narrative. He'd play a huge role in her life, however she personally regards him.

The tension is a result of them being enemies with a pained history. Her being a failed mother makes her role as her mother no less effective. Stop being gross.

Not my fault my second favorite ship is gross as fuck, it's honestly one of the most interesting ones to me.

Their relationship is interesting. Their romantic involvement is not so much unless your really into parental incest. Which is fine if you are, but so, so gross.

But it's technically not incest since they're not relatives, she's just an orphan girl she sort of adopted. And no I'm not the only person on the planet that likes those relationships since it's quite a heavily populated storyline for pron. Besides it's not my fault Bryke had those two arguing with the intense passion of ex lovers. Those two acted jilted as fuck.

I don't think the existance of X basedf porn is much of a justification for X.

But you don't need a justification. I'm not condemning you for it or anything. I'm just saying.

Gross.

I used to argue that Avatar was a cartoon and that anime had to be made in Japan.

Then I remember reading the google definition one day and it said "Japanese style animation," so I always like to point out that definition to people and they usually just buy it. (I know other places you read the definition puts it differently)

Now i'm reading the google definition and I see it was "A style of Japanese animation," which means I misread it before, and now it confuses me.

And that is why you choose your own definition for things unless you have good reason to do otherwise. The English language is an utter mess, and judging what a thing is by country or origin is asinine.

As far as that goes, the top down approach your using isn't gonna work. Use bottom up.

That was a good read Veelk.

I originally thought that the triad criminal underworld was going to play a much larger role than it ended up playing, but that's the story of the whole show unfortunately. A lot of wasted potential.

The early episodes even had this dirty, steampunky, grungy vibe to them. Especially with the creepy violin music they'd play when characters like shady shin appeared. Too bad they were just fodder for Amon.

We got the first part of Smoke and Shadow with the old team avatar coming in Sept. I wonder if it be the last one that about the Gaang then before moving on to Korra, or both is going to co-exist.

The Korra comics look like they're going to have a different creative team (Mike DiMartino is writing, haven't heard who the artist is yet) so they'll probably co-exist. I think Gene Yang has said that he wants to keep doing ATLA comics for a while, possibly with a time skip at some point.
