Avatar: The Way of Water Official Teaser Trailer

IDKFA

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
He has the same tattoo on his arm. It's Stephen Lang.

We're talking about the scene where he's on a water creature?

I had to pause it, but I can just about see the Tattoo. Think you might be right.

If so, this makes the RDA more formidable. Now they have Navi/human marine hybrids who can use advanced human tech and Navi "tech".

Humans can beat the shit out of Navi anyway. First movie just let them win for emotional reason. They were match for humans and cried like babies.

Actually just looked at it in 4K and it is Jake in the final shot.

Yeah, avatar world-design and creatures are kinda ugly but this is an original sci-fi directed by James Cameron, what's not to like? I also enjoyed the vibe of the trailer.
I hope the conversation moves away from boxoffice, its just so irrelevant. Cameron is a crowd-pleaser, always has been, that's really it.

Not when he’s fighting two Avatars with guns.
by the way it looks like their sons have taken to Jake's Avatar dna (5 fingers, eyebrows etc.) while it seems like their daughter has taken more to her mom's side (looks more naturally na'vi, 4 fingers etc.)

Yea the older two have five fingers.

That didn’t do much for me at all. I liked the first one but felt it was so overrated. Even at release. I do find myself rewatching it every few years. I think I’m just a sucker for the jungle/sci-fi setting.

Kind of crazy that this hits theaters two days before the 25th anniversary of Titanic.

i'm posting the thread because i don't think we can post magazine scans still....

figured you would like this Manabyte, first look at Jake and Neytiri's family

peep Netayam having more na'vi like features with 4 fingers and his younger brother Lo'ak who has five fingers and more Avatar features

wonder if we are going to get a sibling rivalry there with Lo'ak feeling he is an outcast compared to Netayam

Very much looking forward to this. Not only was the first one cool visually with 3D in the theatre and all that, but it was a pretty great story with memorable characters and scenes. It’s kind of a meme how long it’s taking but I have pretty high hopes for me personally liking them.

Ahhh.... The ole 'white guy saves tribe by teaching them about their own culture and banging the chief's hot daughter.' Got it!
Pocahontas. This time he will do Sacajawea. Married to a white man but saved the expedition had a baby and was far more useful than her husband.

Yep, the integration of the visual/technical wizardry with the story telling and action was insane, classic Cameron. The scenes where mecha Colonel Quaritch escaped the ship blowing up, landing, fighting Sully and whats-her-face-blue-chick (cannot recall her native name) were super well directed, written and choreographed to deliver pivotal protag and antag scenes that escalated intensity without the need to just go bigger and bigger and bigger like a Bruckheimer fireworks festival. Loved em and very much look forward to Cameron having so much time and resources to work on this.

technically the alien chick taught the white aussie dude how to survive in their world he was gonna die against those alien dogs, but she saved him (and seduced him imo eyes don't lie) also he was in alien form during most of their interaction. i DID think it was kinda bullish!t that the parents had her be his guide and teach him their ways of course they were gonna want to end up banging

I would've did the 'Captain Kirk' with her too.

This was peak badass. It's somewhat funny that many women were attracted to this movie (and repeat viewings) by the romance and pretty alien world and then there's this stuff.

Check this version of the trailer out if you have a Oled screen, looks incredible supposedly.
Colour is too saturated on standard screens but damn is the detail in this version of the trailer out of this world!.

I’m wondering/ hoping we get action scenes like this in the sequel.

If he's not directing the other Avatar movies after this one, I wonder what's the next movie he's gonna to do. As for this Avatar sequel, sign me up. I can't wait

Looks amazing, too bad that cheesy family line made me cringe. Hard Pass! I won't be seeing it. I didn't see Avatar till it hit Blu-ray. I don't have a UHD player so I don't think I'll ever watch this.

Still can't decide whether the CGI looks not much different to the first film because the first film was so far ahead of its time or in the intervening years, we've all become accustomed/blasé to amazing CGI.

Low bandwidth with shit 2.0 audio. Looks bad on an Oled.

YouTube can’t have multi channel audio and this is a bandwidth starved upload.

I will see the movie because I love Cameron''s work and Avatar, but specially because I'm hungry of real cinema and not all those cheaps movies we have since streaming platforms proliferated. I understand Netflix movies must be shit to be sustainable, but I don't understand why that cheap and poor approach to movies has contaminated real cinema.

For example, Uncharted is a movie that looks and feel like a Netflix movie. I truly think that movie, and many others, would have been filmed in different way if netflix hadn't accustomed people to watch low quality movies as something normal. Standard is lower than in any moment in my lifetime (I'm 48 and I love cinema).

Real cinema? Lol go watch a film with good actors and a good plot. Not some sci fi movie with a hackneyed trope about family.
