- Hogan joining the nWo at Bash of the Beach (I was in tears after that Pay Per View)

- Scott Hall invading Nitro then getting into a scuffle with Sting at the announcer's booth.
That's when Scott Hall promised a "big" surprise next week, and it was Kevin Nash.

- Chris Jericho naming all the moves he can do (during his feud with malenko in WCW)
It was hilarious because he starts naming the moves and then they went to a commercial break and came back and he was STILL naming all the moves. Classic.

- War Games Match between WCW and nWo. The fake Sting came out for the nWo and the whole arena went silent, next thing you know WCW's final guy comes out and it's the REAL Sting! (then proceeds to leave the match because Lex Luger and the other guys not trusting him)

- Goldberg defeating Hogan for the title

- Any moment during the Sting/Hogan feud where Sting would drop down from the top of the arena and give a coldblooded stare at Hogan while pointing his bat at him.

- I love WCW.

I loved all that too. WCW was some classic stuff. WCW in it's prime was better than most WWF/WWE stuff.

You forgot me, brah. I used to post as "nmed" and "inmehd" but I can understand if you don't remember. My only real claim to, uh, fame was a short-lived feud with Jimbo Jones that no one cared about and the shortest stable stay in RSPW history (maybe) when I joined the mWo for all of like three hours.

I still stop by RSPW every now and then but it's really a shell of it's former self. Most of the good posters, including the workrate nazis, post over at the DVDVR forums now anyway.

When Hogan turned to the nWo and that crazed fatass fan tried to climb into the ring, Hogan just stomped him while security pulled him down.

When there were rumours of Brock's Shooting star I couldn't believe it when he actually climbed the ropes. I was thinking "no way... NO WAY!!!" He looked really shaky.

Kane's debut was pretty cool with him ripping off the steel cage door.

Jeff Hardy climbing the 30ft ladder to swanton through a table on the outside. That was pure insanity. Hopping from shaky ladder to shaky ladder was pretty crazy too.

Chris Nowinski thought he eliminated Edge and Mysterio from the Rumble, he points to his superior Harvard educated brain and he turns around and screams "YES!! YESS!!! TWO people!!!" and then gets thrown out.

Bushwhacker Luke I think goes to the Rumble doing the Bushwhacker walk, he gets eliminated in like 4 seconds and continues doing the Bushwhacker walk all the way to the back :lol

Jericho and Ralfus. His conspiracy theories.

Wow, that really brings back some memories. I may be mistaken but I swear I used to post at that board quite a bit during the days of the Aki N64 games. Unless I'm thinking of another place, I remember that I used to post with a Viscera avatar in order to offset all the Rock and Austin ones.

Hm, like I said, I may be thinking of another forum. Regardless, I'm 90% sure I used to post there as well...the wm2k abbreviation and the color theme look really familiar. Sadly, the archives at archive.org don't have a lot of pages from that site.

Do you remember a long Q&A from someone who had the game being posted in the wm2k forum?

HOW COULD I FORGET THE HOGAN-RUSSO SHOOT

Oh man, when Jarrett came out and just laid down in the middle of the ring for Hogan, then Hogan grabbed the mic and called Russo an asshole...then Russo came out after Hogan left and RIPPED HIM for 5 minutes straight calling him every name in the book, a narcisstic piece of shit who ruins the industry and never does the right thing....freaking awesome. Best shoot ever.

And the Booker T/Jarrett match for the title afterward was the icing on the cake.

I remember when HBK had his first match back against HHH. No one really had any idea what he was going to be capable of. I thought the match wouldn't last that long and that he wouldn't be able to do that much in the ring. As the match progressed into a good brawl, I remember turning to a friend and saying, "Huh! Shawn can still go on a limited basis, at least. And that's better than 9/10 of the current roster." My friend disagreed.

But then Michaels started doing some crazy HBK shit, and I knew he was almost as good as new, and that he was better than pretty much ALL of the roster at the time. When he hit the elbow from the turnbuckle to the announce table, I lost my shit, jumped up and marked out yelling "HBK! HBK! HBK!" at the top of my lungs. Michaels had always been one of my absolute favorite wrestlers. Seeing him compete again at almost full capacity when I thought he was done for good will always be my favorite moment.

Other favorite moments/memories:

-Foley's first title win.
-Just as a "holy shit" moment, seeing Lesnar superplex Big Show and the ring collapse.
-Benoit making HHH tap.
-Benoit making HBK tap to the sharpshooter in Canada(Benoit is my second favorite wrestler).
-Hearing that Nathan Jones was quitting wrestling. If only Heidenreich would follow suit!
-Actually meeting Benoit at the music store I work at. He was super polite and accomodating, and bought a couple of REM cds if anyone cares.

Mandark sent me the video of Goldberg spearing Bret Hart in Toronto (Canada) only to have Hart get up first and reveal he was wearing a steel plate under his hockey jersey.

The Rock's promo where he impersonated a bunch of people like Angle and Austin was good too.

Angle/Benoit at Royal Rumble 2003. The greatest match of all time, and Benoit got a huge standing ovation from the whole crowd afterward.

Actually...I think the Angle/Benoit match from Unforgiven 2002 might be better or atleast as good. The crowd made the match even better. Popping for everything, even the chain wrestling in the beginning.

Add to my list Rock/Austin from WM-X7. The crowd wasn't buying the Austin heel turn and the way Rock played off the crowd was awesome. The crowd thought Vince had turned face instead of Austin going hell.

SNME Match 1: WWF Intercontinental Championship:
"I feel like snorkeling"
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper(c) vs. The Mountie (w/Jimmy Hart)
The return of Saturday Night's Main Event... now on FOX. Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan are the hosts, welcoming us to ringside. Lots of dubbed in crowd noise for this show! Mountie and Jimmy attack Piper before he can remove his kilt, shirt and title belt. Piper gets a quick 2 count and the brawl spills outside the ring. Bret Hart cuts an inset promo, challenging the winner of the match at Wrestlemania 8. Back in, where Mountie slams, delivers a reverse elbow off the ropes and plants Piper in the corner, upside down. Piper goes for a bulldog, and is shoved off by the Mountie, right into the ref. Ref is knocked out and Piper is stunned. Mountie hits a piledriver and calls for a CUP OF WATER! He tosses it on Piper and brings in his shock stick (and sound effect). He "zaps" Piper, but nothing happens. Piper grabs the shock stick and applies it to the Mountie. Mountie wiggles in "electrical shock" as the ref wakes up. Piper covers for 3. Afterwards, Piper removes his t-shirt to reveal a... scuba diver's vest??! Oh, I see..it has the words "SHOCK PROOF" on it. Silly me.. after all, how do you defeat a fake shock stick? With a fake "shock proof" vest!

Actually, it was a complete shoot - Hogan ended up suing Russo and WCW for defamation over it. If I ever find the clip, I'll send it to you - watching it in realtime was one of the most surreal wrestling moments of my life. As far as going back to kayfabe, they still had a PPV to finish.

Sakuraba started out in UWF International and then went to All-Japan-Pro Wrestling (I think). He didn't start MMA until he won UFC's Heavyweight tournament. But profesional wrestling in Japan is much different from WWE type of wrestling in America. It's more related to catch-wrestling/bjj with only an occasional chair being thrown.

Hell yeah, that rocked! I was really just getting cable back then, tuning in to Raw's and crap. And I remember seeing this ppv and it was just amazing. I really began to mark out for Austin but used to be as big of a Bret Hart fan. And everyone who watched wrestling loved Stone Cold. So I'm going nuts as Austin eliminates one after another like a madman and then Bret's music hits and it was just one of those "holy shit" moments. I'm telling you, through the course of wrestling history there has just been so much gold stepped upon. I think today it's at its worst since pre Hulkster days sadly.

Oh, and I also loved Royal Rumble '98, when Austin won it fair this time. Another mark out moment because he was so bad ass. Oh, and Royal Rumble '94 was great too. Bulldog and Bret Hart going out at the same time was insane. I always loved RR's so there's just tons of great memories from them. Seeing one character after another come down the ramp in the old days. *sigh* And getting into the 20's the big names always came to clear house. That's always been such an amazing match.

I only ever got into wrestling when i was really young, so these might be my imagination but.
-Ultimate warrior VS Hogan, i think it might of been for 2 Belts aswell, I was a HUGE hogan fan and my brother loved UW, i'm pretty sure hogan lost but they shook hands at the end.
-There was this fight i remember, where this big fat guy kept slamming the undertaker like nothing, but he kept sitting up no matter what, this was when he was actually cool.
-Last, i think it was randy savage getting bitten by Jake the snake's snake. I cried at the time (i woulda been around 5 :p)

Actually, it depends on the style. While more sport-like in general, Japan definitely has it's fair share of chairs and other absurdities.

UWFi and other shoot-style feds are a lot like MMA actually. NLB, you should reall check some their shows out...I think you might like them. Pretty much anything UWFi from 1994 headlined by Gary Albright vs. Takada or Vader vs. Takada is worth seeing. There were even some American PPVs that have commentary by Jeff Blatnick and someone else if the Japanese commentary bothers you...

Edge has had a few of the best lines ever.

"X-pac, 1998 called, they're tired of you, so feel free to join us in 2001 anytime."

After winning the King of the Ring: "I'm not going to Billy Gunn this."

Which Royal Rumble?

The last rumble Mr. Perfect was in was the one where HHH won. Perfect was one of the final four and I was SO hoping that he would somehow win. When he Perfect Plexed anyone I was jumping up and screaming!

But to answer your question, I believe the last few rumbles have been Batista, Benoit, Lesnar and HHH in reverse order starting from this year. That should have made it the 2002 rumble.

All of Wrestlemania X because I was there... my father and I were both in awe of both Shawn and Razor... easily.

Hogan/Rock was nuts. I remembered why I loved Hulk Hogan so much.

Summerslam... I forget the year... Piper v. Hart. It wasn't the match as much as it was Heenan (my all time fave) who said the single greatest line EVER in all of wrestling: "What the hell... use the bell!" upon seeing Piper holding a ring bell over Hart's head. NUTS!

I remember watching the Rock concert and thinking to myself... my God... this man is bigger than all of this. It was then that I knew I'd never be able to see the greatest thing to happen to wrestling in the last 10 years ever again.

Watching Flair now gives me chills. Not because of his skill... but because of his dedication. The man truly is a living legend and he goes out there and performs his heart out. He's someone I'd like to have a beer with.

Jericho's Title reign was special for me.

Hogan beating Yokuzuna impromptu at Wrestlemania IX was nuts too... I was/am a heavy mark for Hogan.

Kurt Angle reverse the Hogan Leg Drop.

Watching Kurt Angle SAVE Wrestlemania XX.

Realizing just how good Kurt is in a normal match with Eddie at Summerslam. Eddie fucked up and Kurt concealed it well... not by drawing attention... but rather... MANHANDLING Eddie. He picked him up and quickly did a few techinical wrestling moves. My mouth dropped.

My friends' introduction of me to the ROH. I'm having fun again watching wrestling matches.

Baron Aloha

A Shining Example
Most awesome: The RAW where HHH married Stephanie.

Most terrifying (i.e. least awesome): The Royal Rumble where The Fabulas Mula pulled up her shirt and showed everyone her "puppies". To this day it still makes me shudder.
