Here I am preparing to pay for GFN for Act 3 on Steamdeck…

$20 vs. $800…

Hmm I wonder how split screen performance is on pro? I assume it's still 30fps, but that would be cool if it was 60!
The title is misleading, there are 2 modes:

- Quality at 4k/30fps (30fps in splitscreen)
- Performance at 1440p/60fps using PSSR (60fps in splitscreen)

This is in official patch notes,

EDIT: Here a video from Act 3 with the last patch. I'm in Act 1 yet, so I don't know if this is performing better now

Wierd, I can't remember encountering any bugs in Act 3 outside of this very amusing one:

I played when it came out during the official launch and had an amazing experience the first 2 acts, but it got ruined by the third one, it was super buggy for me. I had like three quest that were broken that I couldn't continue and a lot of performance issues.

I finished a couple of months ago.

1-2 quests were broken for me. But performance was fine.

Nothing out of the ordinary for a game of this size and scope.

One of the most striking cultural differences between the US of A and northern European countries must be wealth shaming. It simply doesn't exist over here. In fact, you're seen as vulgar and obscene if you display how much money you have in public.

I took a good long time before progressing to Act 3, so I finished it in early June. Might've been a bit lucky or they improved it, but I can't remember it being game breaking in any sort of way.
The framerate is another story, it's possible it's better than around launch but it was dipping enough for me to just switch to the 30fps mode. I completely tanked the framerate to an almost standstill by blowing up the fireworks factory xD
My biggest gripe around launch was issues with the UI locking up, not responding or the game simply freezing all of a sudden but I haven't had that happen for a while now.

Strange, I've seen far more people publicly displaying wealth in Europe than I generally do in the States.

Thanks, 1440p targeting 60fps is good enough for me!

Living in the UK, the UK is definitely worse for this than the US. It is a combination of our reality TV shows showing working class people they can have value like a celebrity if they flaunt designer clothes and flash cars, and British Asian communities where culturally it was only the rich people in society who had respect and so it is important to exude wealth (again in the form of flash cars and designer clothes). I lose track of the times I see people with Canada Goose coats on in 15 degrees to look flash and men with silly little Gucci bags. I agree that middle class people see this as vulgar and crass though.

I was in Florida in the summer and didn't see any of this. People who didn't have much money/came from a poor background didn't give a shit what anyone thought of them.

Still, going back to the PS5 Pro, it will be good if they can get 60fps going in 4k in most games - you can definitely see the difference (I did on EA FC25 when playing this morning). They removed the graphics options, but presumably that's because it's just 60fps quality.

Thread title should be updated as it is not accurate. Patch notes linked by the OP say;

  • On PS5 Pro, Quality mode now runs at native 4K (2160p) 30fps.
  • On PS5 Pro, Performance mode will upscale from 1440p to 2160p 60fps, using PSSR
  • Split screen on the PS5 Pro will now offer either 30fps or 60fps depending on whether you’re using Quality or Performance mode.

I genuinely have no idea why people are obsessed with brands/labels. The need to "flaunt" and mindless consumerism is a sign of a double digit IQ as far as I'm concerned.

I love the UK, Nothing Better than seeing a Mercedes Benz AMG outside a council house!

In performance mode !
There's always a catch to these bragging threads
I don't think it's a bragging thead, people are just happy to play an improved version of the game. I'd also say that 1440p with PSSR might as well be a quality mode, it looks really good and native 4k-like.

I’ll have to get back into this at some point. I got pretty far in Act 1 but got really tired to managing the inventory and selling off junk.

It wasn’t too bad but just wanted a more streamlined experience like Metaphor. PS5 Pro patch is good excuse to get back into it later on.

Yep to some degres. If you ever have been in Zurich, Switzerland, or Basel, it's another world. Then you drive an hour to some town or village and it's entirely different again.

You always have places in countries where people show off their wealth. Guess if you'd go to Hollywood or Las Vegas or some fancy quarters in NYC people show off their wealth as well. Probably another ballpark than let's say Louisiana somewhere in the Bayou area.

Hard to make a case on basis of a whole country as such. Unless you count Monaco, of course.

This is great news. I've waited for my Pro before going into this. And for them to finish the major patches. I still reckon it'll dip in Act 3. But the PSSR I've seen so far when upscaling from 1440p to 2160p, so far looks better than native 4k in the games I've tried. So its a substantial improvement, which ever way you slice it for me.
