If they keep the action up I'll continue watchin'.

Amazing scene. Probably blew 80% of their budget on that though. Wonder how entertaining they can make the small town drama over more than one season.

I definitely enjoyed it. Only two gripes. The fight scene in the bar. Why did the sheriff try to block a shot with his hand instead of shooting him? And why did the other bad guy not shoot him the second he shot his friend? The other gripe is the romantic interest. She's really ugly. I hope he goes for the cop instead. I know I'm being shallow, but it really bothers me for some reason.

And the guys who were looking for him, when they got to the tech guy, they let him go in the back all by himself instead of accompanying him.

There were a few dumb moments, yeah.

She's ugly? Really ugly? Oh, for fuck's sake.

Aside from some pretty bad CG i really enjoyed the first episode, the guy who plays the main character reminds me Scott Speedman (the guy from Last Resort).

Also, OT here.. Has anyone seen The Transporter show? The trailers made it look extremely awful but i watched a few episodes yesterday and i have to say it was pretty fucking entertaining. It was anything groundbreaking or amazing but i had a blast watching them.

I was left massively disappointed. All I knew about the show going in was the art of the promotional poster, so obviously I was expecting something with taste and style. Sadly, it has neither.

The first 10 minutes were particularly cringe worthy.

I certainly wouldn't call her ugly but I do not find her attractive at all. She is almost walleyed. Hope we see more of the cop and less of her.

This is the one that stuck out to me the most.

Yeah, like it. Really nice driving and fighting scenes. The main guy is pretty damn convincing as badass and I like how he doesn't try to imitate Statham.

He actually reminds me a lot of Scott on Strike Back.

He reminded me of Garret Dillahunt as Burt Chance.

I guess he just has one of those faces.

It hasn't premiered in the US yet, so a lot of us haven't seen it yet.

Hahahahaha. Come on, man. It's one thing not to be attracted to her, but ugly?

I really dig the show's opening credits. In the vein of Justified and True Blood, really cool stuff.

Also, what's up with the bow tie guy at the end? Took off his glasses and I'm pretty sure he was about to kill the drunk guy before Hood shot him. I bet Hood and he will throw down close to the end of the season.

OT: Hey NotTheGuyYouKill, is the girl in your avatar Willa Holland? I remember her from Gossip Girl. If so, nice!

Apparently there's some sort of secret code embedded in the Banshee opening credits, for anyone that's interested in digging around and figuring it out:

- Cinemax series ‘Banshee’ aims to retain viewers beyond TV
As the opening credits of the new Cinemax series "Banshee" begin, the dial of an old steel safe spins, tumblers locking to reveal a combination that viewers can use to crack open "the vault" on the show's website.

This is where each week the creators of "Banshee" will spill the dark secrets hidden in haunting photographs that appear on the distressed surface of a wooden bar in the show's title sequence.

"Fast forward at your own peril," the show's executive producer and showrunner, Greg Yaitanes, said of TV viewers who might be tempted to skip the opening credits.

OK I have to admit that the premier was pretty good. Very good surprise.

I was a bit skeptic as I find the face of every actor weird. Maybe because I am not accustomed to any of them...

Camper than Lafayette? Sounds good :D

When do us Brits get this? At least the pilot on youtube isn't blocked. Gonna watch it tonight.

I got Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax free this weekend, so I took a flier on the show. Definitely over the top, but being from the heart of Amish country in PA, I thought that part of the show was overdone. On the other hand, from personal experience, I've found a lot of the Amish that stop being Amish aren't as nice or at least less moral. So, that truth was over emphasized.

Anyway, the anti-heroes were all flawed, but sufficiently likable. I'll probably keep up via torrent. Initial setup shows that the plot is going to be wildly unpredictable, so there is that too. To be more specific, in a lot of these type of shows, things start to look they're getting more resolved towards the end of the season, but then unravel all over the place in the finale. I get the feeling things will never get that close to looking resolved.

You can read the first issue of the Banshee Origins comic on the official website - Link

:O

They have prequels filmed with the actors on the site as well.

Damn that's cool. There are going to be 13 prequel videos on the official website, with over 30 minutes of new footage that will flesh out the backstory for some of the key characters. The first one is already up!

Oh, the title sequence will be different every week. That's cool, I love that idea.

I criticized the opening credits earlier for being too tame/boring, but this is a really innovative idea.

I'll probably keep up via >__>

You might want to edit the above.

I think all of them might be up, the prequel videos. I watched three last night on the site that was linked from Yataine's twitter.

And I frickin' love the opening credits. Very cool.

They should have done something with the show's intro logo instead of the weird silly art-deco poster they released.

The series debut of Cinemax’s Banshee on Friday night drew 483,000 total viewers, the channel’s best numbers for an original series telecast since the Strike Back series launch in August 2011. For the night, Banshee amassed 1 million across three airings.

I smell a second season!

Give me a break. People buy into this type of "action"?

Yeah, it was horrible. I'm not getting the hype for this show. The only interesting part was the steak sauce bottle jammed into the mouth scene. Even that fight was bad.

I'm going to write the season finale right now, New York bad guys kidnap his daughter and he has to pull off some elaborate heist with his ex to retrieve whatever they are looking for.

Did they definitively establish that she's his daughter, or were we all just assuming that's the case based on the premiere. I certainly made that jump.

Wait, who are we talking about? I don't recall any young girls/daughters in the premiere episode...
The teenage daughter that was making out with that guy in the car. He seemed a little too interested in her ID, age, etc... when he stole her wallet. I was working under the assumption that she was conceived before he went to prison, but maybe I'm reading way too much into this.

The mom said she was 13 thus making her too young to be his daughter since he was in jail. He mentioned she looked older and later stole her ID. She wasn't 13. She is also a trouble maker, because people are just like their parents.....

This isn't complicated writing.

Ahhhh, interesting. I never made that connection. You guys might be on to something!

Enjoyed the pilot enough that the wife and i have made it a part of our weekly viewing schedule on my days off. There was something just off about the "bonnet" scene. It was almost disturbing.

Watched the pilot and I'm in. Good stuff so far in an actiony sort of way. The ex's skanky daughter is definitely his kid.

I'm not the one who officially released all these videos as prequels to the series for mass consumption.

I wasn't blaming you. I just feel that blurting out that
Ana/Carrie is Rabbit's daughter
like that is weird. Seems like something that should happen much later on. Unless it's a red herring.

It was in the prequel comic that was released two weeks before the show began. So... it's actually not a huge deal since the creators put that out there so people would know.
