Batman Arkham Knight free with new 970/980's

Guess what? I just scored both Witcher 3 and Batman for free from Newegg for a Titan X I bought at launch on March 19th. :D

That's why I say there's no harm in trying!

Of course, I'm sure having a history of spending thousands of dollars there every year helped.

From a business perspective, it pays to keep their high worth customers happy.

These codes cost them almost nothing. They'll more than make it up when I buy all the parts for my Skylake build from them later this year.

There you go! I'm glad select businesses still believe in keeping their loyal customers happy. :-)

My understanding is that Nvidia is trying to offload their 970/980 cards before officially announcing/releasing the 980 ti and/or waiting for AMD to launch/announce their new flagship. I really hope the 980 Ti is around the corner as I was hoping to upgrade before The Witcher 3 comes out. My 780 will play it fine, just not as well as I'd personally like. I plan on upgrading to a 980 Ti and using my 780 as a dedicated PhysX card for the all that beautiful hair.

If I'm not mistaken, a dedicated PhysX card won't actually help with the hair as HairWorks is DirectCompute-based, like TressFX, rather than CUDA-based.

Thank you for contacting Newegg.
You do have to purchase items during the time promotions are running. However because you have been an Eggxcellent customer and a Premier customer, I would be happy to send you the game code for BATMAN ARKHAM KNIGHTS. You will receive this code via email in the next 24 hours.

I am tempted, but I need to see some Witcher 3 benchmarks first. I would want at least 30-40% increase with 970 over my current 280X.

Well, a GTX970 should be around 30-40% better in most games out now, and The Witcher 3 is a "the way it's meant to be played" game.

If I'm reading the support email response right, SuperBiiz, despite not having the promotion up on their site, will be honoring the promotion.
We are honoring the promotion for all qualifying items.

The code will be located on a promotional card inside your package. Please thoroughly check the packaging to make sure it is not accidentally discarded.

Woohoo!

Hopefully that'll be the case. I'd be kicking myself for not going through Newegg for once otherwise.

Sent an email to customer support of NCIX, where I bought my 970 in April 14th.

I got the reply:

Hello,

We have found out that we have enough codes to help customers out who purchased cards before this promo. I have gone ahead and added the "BATMAN: Arkham Knight" promo to your invoice. Please allow 1-3 days before you receive the email with the game code. If you do not get the code in a timely manner please let me know so I can check to see if the code was emailed.
While you are online claiming your free game perhaps give me a review at http://www.resellerratings.com/store/survey/NCIX
Your reviews help show everyone that we provide 5 star service for all our customers.

Thank you and have a great day,

:D

I have an i5 4400s and 8 GB of ram, could actually be 4. Would the 970 allow me to play at 1080 or better with no slow downs? Been a while since I've purchased any computer components.

Curious what sort of performance I'll get with a 980 and my core i5 4570 (non-K).

Nobody can say for sure just yet, but I would assume you may see some slight slowdowns with that CPU since open world games are usually pretty CPU intensive.

That being said, there is also a fair chance you won't notice a big difference between your CPU and an i7 due to CPU requirements being horribly overestimated the past few years.

Amazon e-mail didn't go anywhere. Chat however said I was eligible (purchased April 21) and sent my details along to the promotion team.

I'm hoping the latter is the case. I've only just gotten into PC gaming having originally built my system a few years ago with an AMD 7950. Took a few years for things to click, but I'm hoping to get a 980, an SSD and not upgrade for another 1 or 2 years when I'll build a new system from scratch.

This is really tempting. My GPU is like 4 or 5 years old now. Was waiting for the next price drop, but two games I'd probably end up buying is basically the same thing.

Now to decide what card?

i'm gonna wait for 980 Ti to come out and hope for nice price drops for the current cards. gonna play the games on PS4 anyway.

Bought my brother a GTX 970 as a birthday gift on 4/26, contacted Newegg support via chat, they're sending an AK code. Great CS, excited that I get to give him AK and Witcher III... tempted to steal one or both for myself to be honest. Heh.

Solid deal, but thinking I will wait and stay with my 780 GTX 3GB card for the time being, should be more than enough for 1080p at high settings. I can frame lock at 30fps if need be.

Can confirm Amazon is not willing to help unless I return the (3 day old) card.

Amazon just sent me a Batman code after I called them a few hours ago.

<3 Amazon customer support

Correction to my previous post, Amazon chat isn't willing to help but when I called in they emailed me a batman code for both cards I purchased. She told me on the phone that any cards purchased from 4/1/15 up until today are eligible.

Guess I will try calling when I get home.

I did it, I bought a Asus 970. I really wanted both these games anyway so that's $120 I would have spent anyway. Now what do I do with my 670? I already have a pile of cards that do nothing...

Not a fan of calling any customer support. I may try emailing them.

Damn, I ordered my GTX 970 last Thursday and installed it yesterday. Got the Witch 3 code at least. Anyone know if Newegg would do anything if I called?

the ite where i bought the card is not even dispalying the promo right now,and it's not present on the promotion website...actually only one site is there for Italy..i suppose it's useless to send a mail then -_-

I got my codes already, sent ten minutes before receiving the the shipping information, I figured they'd wait until at least a couple days after shipping but works for me.

I tried Amazon chat, got denied because of the length of time (and the suggestion to return/rebuy which I am not interested in). Those of you who are more persistent than I am, I wish you luck.

As I said earlier, it's much better to just call, chat support is a lot more hit or miss (and mostly miss) in my experience when I've had issues.

So witcher 3 + Batman free... On man if only I could have waited. Excellent deal got ubisoft stuff instead around Christmas time :(

Got a batman code from newegg for my 4/30 purchase of a 970. At first they told me no I didn't qualify because the promotion wasn't running. I told them that other people with orders made before mine qualified so I thought I would as well and they double checked and gave me a key. Already got it via email.

I bought my 970 from Newegg a month ago, and didn't get any codes. I e-mailed them like an hour ago after reading this thread and they just sent me codes for both games. I'm glad I bothered to try!

Just contacted Amazon about my 970 that I purchased wayyy back in December lol, and they're transferring my situation to the marketing and promotion team and I just have to wait 24 - 48 hours for their response. Hoping against hope, here. Lol.

They just got back to me through email and I have a code for both games now. I purchased my card in December. Give it a shot, guys.

Edit: Well, the code is "already redeemed", so sending another email. I'll update if I end up getting a usable code.

You sonuva.....

So a dedicated card will/won't work better?

edit: I just realized I mistook PhysX for Hairworks and know very little about Hairworks because I haven't bought a(n) Hairworks enabled game. Well except FC4, but FC4 didn't have Hairworks enabled/working yet when I beat it.
