They'll be playing in New York just in time for my birthday! It'd be the third time seeing them live, but still an awesome birthday present...

Also, Andrex, if you could killerize my avatar that'd be awesome! :D

When are they coming to New York?!

When is this? I want to come. I've wanted to see them for what feels like my entire life.

While on my current listen-through of The Killers, one song I have to comment on is Somebody Told Me from Hot Fuss.

I never really liked the song, until I really listened to it and paid attention. To be specific, it sounds amazing just as an instrumental. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I was never fond of the lyrics to the song.

I learned a long time ago not to pay attention to Killers lyrics.

Don't get me wrong, Brandon sings them fabulously, but they can often be pretty bad.

So.....Brandon's video should be up today or tomorrow. Then I guess that's it til release 3 weeks from today?

Will we get another single in the meantime? Is that possible?

Doubt it. Pretty odd to drop 2 singles before the album hits, I think. I would imagine that they ride the Runaways train through September and the album's release, then drop MAB as a single/video in October. Flesh And Bone single in December/January.

I am sooooo down with that.

Gonna make the wait for BB that much harder though. :( I really want to hear the studio version of F&B.

In the midst of my Killers relisten. Sawdust is so underrated/overhated.

Tranquilize is 50% awesome, 50% so-so.

All The Pretty Faces is fantastic.

Under the Gun is great but way too short.

Mr. Brightside remix is God-tier.

Where the White Boys Dance is, eh, but it's not bad and I know some people really like it.

All in all, pretty super for a collection of b-sides.

Sawdust is definitely underrated.

Romeo And Juliet
Sam's Town (Abbey Road Version)
Tranquilize
Shadowplay
All The Pretty Faces
Move Away
The Ballad of Michael Valentine
Dady's Eyes

All great songs.

Yeah, its "denser". Pretty much every I've met say "dancer" though :lol

On the band's official website, the biography section states that Flowers is singing "Are we human, or are we dancer?" and also says that the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson, where he stated America was raising "a generation of dancers".[13][14] In an interview with Rolling Stone, Flowers said that he was irritated over the confusion about the lyrics and also that fans were unhappy with the song's dance beat: "It's supposed to be a dance song, [the beat] goes with the chorus...If you can't put that together, you're an idiot. I just don't get why there's a confusion about it."

Oh, wow.

Denser makes a lot more sense to me though. Learned something today!

You know, I can't agree with the notion someone voiced earlier of The Killers not having good lyrics. I think quite a few of their songs have wonderful lyrics. Most recently, Runaways.

Wish I would say I was excited for this but i'm not, can't believe it's been 4 years though. I've gotten so used to The Killers just being a festival filler band.

Don't get me wrong, they can have good lyrics (Mr. Brightside jumps immediately to mind), but I don't consider it a strength of the band. They have too much of a tendency to lapse into triteness, or even to completely lose their grasp of English.

Such as with Human, for example.

I had no idea so many people were fans of The Killers. Their debut wasn't bad....but I'm sure that a ton of bands like The Rapture released albums around the same time that were infinitely more memorable.

They were/are really popular in the U.K

Their singles like Mr. Brightside played really well here in the States also but they never really grew out of being a buzz band here. Without the huge radio singles nor critical acclaim, I had no idea. I had no idea that Kelly Rowland released a single with David Guetta that was a chart topper either so that shows how much I follow popular music.

I am so excited for this album! I have been listening to The Killers non-stop. I went through all three albums and Brandon Flowers' album while working today.

Once I set aside my childish notions of grammar, I grew to love, "Are we human, or are we dancer?" Considering the context of the song it works well.

Have never heard it as "denser" though, but I ain't a plebe. :p
