Battlefield 1 |OT| Make War Great Again

You keep mentioning games that I don't enjoy, I don't want battlefront and I don't want titanfall I want battlefield. On the battlefield you're not supposed to be able to face off against anything and survive, that's not how Battlefield or world war 1 works.

That's why theres squads, that's why people need to pick a specific class and play it as a team. What you're describing is exactly the reason I don't play those games over battlefield.

How about Battlefield Bad Company 1, 2, Battlefield , 3, 4 or, Hardline 2042 then? Those had bidrectional interactions between infantry and aircraft (mostly in the form of SAM). You can't make out that the lack of that interaction is 'what battlefield is' because that hasn't been true for most of the franchise. Even in Battlefield 1942 and 1943 where Infantry had little means of responding to aircraft fire, the aircraft themselves were no where near as effective against enemy infantry as they are in Battlefield 1.

I also said I like the game, not liking one component of it, hardly constitutes 'not liking what battlefield is' this is your stipulation because it's easier to explain away my opinion as not liking battlefield, rather than addressing the mechanical implications of what I consider, design issues. I'm certainly not alone with my complaints on features like the Behemoths, there are a lot of players out there playing this game that enjoy the game as a whole, but do not enjoy being shot by aircraft and other mechanics that they can't respond to.

In the same way I also don't like specialist classes. Are you going to dismiss my thoughts as merely 'not liking what battlefield is?'. I'm sorry that I used examples from games that you don't like, but those were just very specific components of the games that I enjoyed. I didn't suggest I wanted Battlefield to play like those games, I just play a lot of games and none of them do everything right, there's always something they could learn from one another. Heck, a lot of Battlefield 1's core features are inspired similar features in games like Starwars Battlefront.

If you win Operations on the second map do you get the Match Bonus for your score on both maps or just your score on the second map?

I want to assume you do get a match bonus for the first map since there are battlepack drops for the first map.

Of course, I never looked into it. I am just assuming you do due to the fact there is a battlepack drop, which occurs at the end of a match. So if someone else has more info regarding this, feel free to correct me.
 
it's annoying to get killed by planes. last night i was the only one in my team successfully getting to the A flag without getting killed on the way there. and yet 3 out of the 10 times i got there i was killed by this stupid plane after i had cleared out the enemy team. you just have to get used to it i am afraid.

Were you getting killed by those attack planes? I've reported this exploit to DICE a few times now. Attack planes can fly out of AA range but still in range to drop hell down on you.

played war pigeon or whatever that mode is called for the first time, because apparently it is fun but I wasn't feeling it, we had to release the pigeon 35 times to end the game and it's just a clusterfuck all around and not in a good way.

Though I also have no map that I really dislike, with friends the game is fun no matter the map, I also have tears in my eyes when we spawn and a random guy in our squad immediately asks what to do.

After a long break with Titanfall 2 i jumped back into an Operations round on Kaiserschlacht (alone)...

Dat Matchmaking... Half of my team was single digit lvl rank players. We had to attack.
More than half of the other team were rank 60+ with three 100 lvl ones (one of them went ham on us with 79:12, on foot.).

It was a miracle that we managed to win 2 sectors before we lost. Don't want to know how the beginner players felt.

Hey guys, so I got this for PS4 and had my first blast on it last night, really enjoyed it but got a quick question.

I haven't played a multiplayer FPS on console since the original Halo so not sure what the best thing here is - should I be turning off the aim assist?

From what I've seen, the aim assist in BF1 seems fairly strong, so if you turn it off, you might find yourself struggling to line up shots more than you might expect, while other players will have no compunctions about using it to its utmost against you.

Another AT Mine update (sorry if already posted -skimmed and didn't see the info)...

With the howitzer artillery truck you can put down AT mines as a tank ability, but you can place up to SIX before despawn occurs.

This differs from the infantry 3 as posted earlier in the thread (which I thought was six after the previous update) however I'm probably mistaken. It's definitely six for the arty truck though.

I pretty much love all the maps with horseback. One of my favorite things to do in Battlefield is keep pushing the opponent back and back in Conquest until I go back and forth from their spawn point to first capture point.

In 64 player matches this can be difficult but if I'm playing with a solid squad it happens quite often.

Just finished a match on Ballroom Blitz where our team dominated and had them spawn from E by their spawn where I just went through the hills on horseback taking out opponents with sword and then firebombing any tanks that came my way.

This game must think I'm the best player in the world the way it autobalances my teammates. I swear, EVERY fucking match I play in, my team is losing all control points within the first minute. My squad doesn't stick together, there's no variety in classes, no one plays their role, no spotting, the list goes on and on. Meanwhile the enemy team is comprised of freaking Seal Team 6 the way they work together.
I had a couple games like this today. Pretty frustrating. I do frequently top score and rack up kills in most rounds, but it still sucks to be saddled with the weakest players in the server.

Players just leaving objectives as the enemy is capping it, playing between objectives instead of actually getting on the capture points, trying to fight out of the home base instead spawning on an available flag point, abandoning tanks so the enemy can steal them, running Medic with out a syringe/Support with out ammo bags, the list goes on. You can tell BF1 is a lot of people's first Battlefield game.

Is there any option that lets you make objective markers less opaque without having to ADS? It has been my one consistent frustration with the game since launch. Constantly blinded by a big fat A or B on my screen that perfectly blocks out the view of the enemy, who can see me just fine.

I dug around in the options, but I couldn't find anything.

Nope. Which is super annoying since you could adjust it in BF4. It will definitely get patched in, I hope sooner rather than later. I really want this option as well, I hate how hard it is to see through the objective markers.

Soissions looks like another St. Quentin's Scar/Giant's Shadow, but the other maps look very unique and interesting. The bright red flowers on Ruputure look gorgeous.

EDIT: Just read the description for Soissions. Thunderstorms as random weather! This is great news, as long as there are no more fog maps!

That other tanks is a Saint-Chamond. It was a type of heavy tank.

I can't wait to see more of Ruputure. It looks great.

Wonder if the new trench raider will have more hp or something.

Probably a one hit melee and more HP.

We already have that! It's called "Operations!" The only thing they added here was that stupid chain-attack system.

I've avoided buying season passes for all games but I may for BF1.

I found myself having more fun when I switched to the smaller modes. More agency, less getting shot by planes and whatnot. Some bad maps do lead to rough and unenjoyable experiences though, there's one of the desert ones that I really dislike for Rush.

Soissions and--to a lesser extent--Verdun Heights look a little 'been there done that' from those images, but I'm pretty excited for the other two. I'm worried the glare of Verdun's distinguishing fire is going to make it really hard to see the enemy if they go prone. I was playing Rush a few days ago on a map with similar terrain in stormy weather, and we couldn't even take the first two points because of how hard it was to see the defending enemy.

Probably an idiotic question, but how do i lie down (prone?)?

I tried checking the keybindings in the settings, but for some reason it's showing an XB1 controller for me, instead of the keyboard.

On console it's one button for stance changes, you tap to crouch and hold to go prone. Have you tried holding the crouch button?

edit: I found a PDF manual that says that you hold the Z key.

Cluster fucks are absolutely amazing. I don't understand the hate for Operation Metro.

Because spamming explosives or shooting into choke points for an entire round is boring for a lot of people. I can handle one round of that once in a while but it's really boring doing the exact same thing over and over again.
