You can't. You can only join servers that your friends are playing on and hope it puts you onto their team... and then use the squad menu to try make a squad or join theirs.

The crashing at this point is getting absurd, we're looking at 3 weeks past release and things are not significantly better.

It is fucking stupid, yes, but you can use the server browser on Battlelog to join games. Makes it much easier joining a relatively open one with a friend.
You also have to get an M320 kill.

Like is this due to some new patch or something? How is the game not QA'd on the system before taking everyones money?
I'm not crashing anymore, but the Ambient Occlusion effect they added in the patch has been "pulsing" like my dude has a killer hangover and it's distracting as all hell.

Ok now the "full game" % is stuck, and single player file is corrupt I wonder if I can get a refund and buy nba 2k14, and never hupport an ea product again. blarg

You're not. I've been having it and so have quite a few other people.
The kicker is I redownloaded the game, and when the multiplayer wasn't installed, it ran fine. Singleplayer went off without a hitch. The instant the multiplayer install was finished and it tries to tell me about China Rising and battlelog, it crashes 90% of the time as I hit the main menu. Makes me think it's entirely on their end, not even with my install, they're sending some battlelog instruction or some shit that crashes the PS4.

How do you unlock the MTAR? Looking around on Battlelog and I don't see it
It's not going to show up because it isn't "meant" to be unlocked just yet so they haven't added it to Battlelog.
There's two guns that can be unlocked but no one has really put the requirements up in an easy to read format.
1 AR kill, 1 bolt action snipe kill, 1 LMG kill, 1 handgrenade kill.

I imported my progress from PS3 to PS4, played a few rounds of domination and now my save is corrupted and the game won't even load to the menus. The transfer process said it was one time. Does this mean I am fucked and can't use my level 30 character on my PS4? How is there no PR apologizing for this garbage?
Your stats are fine. Your save isn't. That's all. Your multiplayer stats are saved to EA's servers.

I don't know the PS4 ecosystem nor care to research it. If it's like the PS3: Delete your local save and restart the game.
HOWEVER, I'd wait until EA patches the game to solve the save corruption issue since that's a widespread problem and deleting your local save to redo/resave in the game won't stop the corruption.
