Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

No.

In fact, BF ought to be Hardcore-mode by default.

I think the issue is, not the TTK, it's the horrific servers, the insta deaths basically ruin the game. Most gun fights I feel I'm seeing the past, I've had multiple instances where I die and the kill shows a dude standing in front of me, well obviously no one was there on my screen. Or shooting people in the back to (I hit them 5-6 times), for them to 1 frame kill me

Makes gun fights completely unpredictable and inconsistent.

Fix that and then everyone can have a better opinion of the TTK

Played on ps5 for 30 minutes. Getting smoked. Enemy players seem always know where I am, even when I'm slowly walking through the alley. The audio was so loud I can't pick up footsteps. Just boom, enemy sprinting from the corner(i didn't hear them) and killed me. Will try again later, maybe just need more time to get familiar with the chaotic sound
The way player acquisition works (not spotting) is way too aggressive right now. Pretty much anyone in your line of sight ends up with a massive red dot over them. Needs to be toned right down.

there is blood spray when you shoot and blood trail when you drag a soldier

Yeah I saw some blood splatter on the ground but hardly noticeable. It's war, make this shit more dirty I say, hope they do that for full game.

Also, bodies disappear very fast, they die and bam, gone. Looks a bit weird how fast that goes.

Sounds fair.

Now that you mention it, I have to say at times it does feel like killing people feels a bit inconsistent.

This is my other complaint, you only need a rough idea of where people, and the game shows you with the suppression icon, you move crosshair in that direction and the game highlights the player, basically remove any chance of flanking, smart positioning, this feature should only be for the scout imo, and only when using sniper rifles, everyone else SHOULD have to physically spot, currently everyone have a auto spot enabled.

Not a massive FPS fan but had a blast with a few games this morning. Need to get to grips with the larger modes so just eased in with some Domination. Will definitely buy at launch.

I'm more on about just the way it works on your screen alone. Its like personal spot. So if you poke your head around a corner you are instantly visible on anyone's screen ( not radar) who happens to be looking in your general direction. I'm sure they'll tone it down for the final release.

This guy puts it better in point one of his feedback.

I know, that's exactly what I'm talking about

That's why I always prefer hardcore-mode.

No red dots, minimaps and whatnot.

Hopefully hardcore-servers will be available from day 1.

I'd take standard mode, and remove this spotting in portal.

I really wanna like this game, because when it works, hit regs is on, squad is all in sync, it's awesome, unfortunately this is like 20% of the time. Most of the time all I heard in my squad is "there's no way he killed me there", or "everyone is a bullet sponge", or "I died instantly" or "how does he know I'm here, and Instantly delete me"

And almost all of this would be resolved with hit reg and auto spot patch

Dice said most of this was sorted in a patch for the open beta.....but they didn't release it, now I wonder why

So it seems you can only revive squad members, that means players outside your squad can't be revived by you, I would imagine in real life you try to save anyone? Ah well, lol. Hey maybe not.

I don't think BF ever had this , but there isn't leaning here?

not true

Only support class can revive other squads

By the way, when i gun a enemy down and I kill him, he can't be revived anymore, can he? I noticed how enemy players so far don't fully kill me, I can always be revived. Or can they just not 100% off me anyway?

Scout headshots can't be revived, any other kill can be revived

Re-enable crossplay then you will at least be able to blame PC players.

I think alot of people have missed the whole point of this open weekend.

Its a test.
I think JackFrags mentioned its an older build of the game.

I imagine there's a huge list of improvements coming in the final build.

Bizarre how people treat this like the finished final product and have full rounded reviews on it.

Well we have history with dice.......so.......

I get the impression this weekend is really about turning cod players heads. I still think the guns in cod feel better personally

Can't be topped imo. 2019 in particular.

This is pretty good. Everything is a little samey so far, although I've not tried much.

The movement and aim feel so off. Does anyone else experience this? And is there fix/setting?

Feels so heavy andd chunky

COD's gunplay is definitely smoother, no question. That's because it's not designed to feel like a military shooter - it's designed so anyone can pick up and play. Aim, point, shoot. But having spent time with BF6, it's clear they're going for weight here. They want this to feel a certain way - like you're one solider on a battlefield of hundreds with gear on your back, instead of an ADHD bunny spiking on ritalin rails packing a zero recoil SMG and a Beevis and Butthead skin.

I've played two hours with the BF6 beta so far, and I'm definitely keen to give DICE some leeway here - they've delivered some top notch moments for me already. It's DICE and EA, so there's always time for them to fuck this somehow, but if they tweak the rego and clean up the bugs, I'd gladly lay down money for more of this. Battlefield just getting back to actually being Battlefield, instead of #EveryonesBattlefield or trying to emulate COD, Overwatch or whatever 2042 was trying to do, is in itself a big win in my books. An unapologetically big loud honest-to-God Oorah boots on the ground feels like something that's strangely been missing despite COD releasing every year and Battlefield not in hibernation. I don't know. Feel like I haven't had good shit like this since BF1. If they can land the single player campaign, I'll probably go in at full price.

This is a problem

Is it just me or are the sidearms trash like they were in BFV?

Coming from 2042, where the sidearms are fun to use.

There are tons of settings. Both movement and aiming is great for me
Yeah, controls feel great on both mouse and controller for me.

Yeah, the glint is a "little strong". They already said they changed it though much like a lot of complaints in this game. Patch just wasn't ready in time IIRC.

So found the solution to the 1 hit insta deaths

Use a VPN, I'll deal with slight lag, and no insta death's

This game's engine makes me so mad at UE, lmao. UE games make my fans SO loud, but this is COMPLETELY silent. It's so wild.

We'll see how the weekend goes, but so far this is their best beta yet. Small issues here and there, but otherwise really good considering the huge playernumbers

I wrote off BF after 1 and I'm blown away with 6. They went back to their roots. It's also nice to be instantly in the action with load times.

Bravo, DICE. You fixed your series!

It feels like early BF4 with the the awful 30hz tickrate servers and the lag compensation that packaged like 2 seconds of damage into 1 frame on your end, also getting killed like 3 meters behind cover.
People that play with like a 100+ ping just had an i win button in early BF4.
