Alright, this was literally my first Battlefield experience ever.
First Impressions from a Call of Duty Aficionado:
• Graphics, first and foremost, are a noticeable and welcome step up from COD MP. Bodes well for SP.
• Game looks and runs great on a base PS5.
• Sound design matches the high standards I expect from a shooter. Just as good as COD.
• Kill notifications are too hard to read. Often I'm not even sure if I got the kill. This needs to be more noticeable. Especially frag grenades. I'll throw one and have no idea if I got the kill.
• How the fuck do you check your kill/death count mid-game???
• Movement feels more "realistic" compared to COD. Though… I do miss the slide. Sue me. Overall, the movement feels very good.
• Modern Warfare, imo, has perfected gunplay in videogames. This title is almost on par but overall, COD weapons still feel better to shoot.
• Destruction is amazing. Every war shooter should have destruction. COD not having it is a joke.
• Every map has an awesome atmosphere, Looks, feels, and sounds like war.
• Voice acting, commentary from NPC's, etc, all better than COD MP.
• I'm a fan of the smaller maps. Pretty much COD with a serious tone, no stupid skins, and destruction. Sign me up.
• Vehicles are great, though I have no clue where to find jets, so I never got to try one. Helicopter was taken every time by other players. Only got to drive ground vehicles.
• The gunsmith UI feels like a cheaper version of COD's; it's not as polished or user-friendly.
Overall, loved the little I played. (Got to level 8 after 7-10 matches of various game types)
Love the tone, graphics, sound and destruction. Gunplay is fucking solid. UI and In-game HUD could use some work.
