With the low TTK, lack of space for vehicles (tanks can barely get through half the streets, big maps barely any room for Jets), small infantry only maps, getting melee'd in the back with no audio clues anyone is there. I would say this has way more in common with CoD than any other BF, it's clear as day EA are aiming at that crowd.
I can post my BF hours from way back if it helps too![]()
Still playing right now.Lol I played for at least an hour after the beta supposedly closed, wonder whats going on there
Eh, any TTK that is higher than BF hardcore is too much.TTK is pretty fast in all recent battlefields except Battlefield 1. I agree it's a smidgeon too fast in BF6, and I hope they change it.
TTK in COD is just insane full stop.
Big maps are there in BF6 and more will be coming. Even the smaller maps are still huge and complex compared to COD. We will be able to choose to not play the infantry only maps if they are not to our taste.
Jets have always had the issue in modern BF settings that they are too fast for the maps (even the biggest maps). This one needs sucked up. WW1/2 settings with propeller jobs had much better airplay as a result by default. As an aside, I miss the days of fannying about on runways and trying to grab a plane. We will never see those again!
COD is just a parade of small maps, tiring 1000mph gameplay, and no tactics. Still good for a 30 minute fill.
BF6 open beta wasn't perfect, but I've seen enough of it to know I should enjoy it as much as I did 3 and 4 back in the day. Especially when I get together with the old squads!
Oh, and we need boats.
I kind of wish these Youtubers would hold off on these videos of exploits until after the beta is overSo this is why I lost my conquest match with Jackfrags
Have about 15 minutes left as of this postLol I played for at least an hour after the beta supposedly closed, wonder whats going on there
Eh, any TTK that is higher than BF hardcore is too much.
No idea why anyone would want to play non-hardcore.
Hardcore makes BF way more tactical, akin to Hell Let Loose.

Road to Battlefield 6
New Map: Iwo Jima
Brand new to Battlefield 2042, Iwo Jima is a fan favorite previously seen in Battlefield 1942,Battlefield 1943, and Battlefield V. In Battlefield 2042 the map will feature an active Volcano, so be on the lookout for some spectacle when you explore Iwo Jima. To really immerse you, the map also features boat landings, bunkers, and trenches on a reimagined 700x200 map that will give you plenty of options to flex your tactical muscles.
Hardware
Update 9.2 will add two weapons and two vault vehicles to your arsenal.
Weapons:
KFS2000 - Assault Rifle
A formidable assault rifle with an iconic look. Thanks to its bullpup design the KFS2000 is highly accurate and easier to control making it an excellent choice for most combat scenarios.
Lynx - Sniper Rifle
If you joined us during the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, you will receive the Lynx with Update 9.2. Players that didn't participate in the Beta will still have a chance to acquire the weapon later down the line. The Lynx is a vicious semi automatic anti material rifle with a respectable rate of fire. It houses a very large cartridge mainly intended to demolish environments and deal damage to vehicles.
Vehicles:A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot
We also have two new Attack Jets coming to All out Warfare, the A 10 Warthog and the SU25-TM Frogfoot! With new and tweaked abilities, they'll fly into your roster with ease. With the added abilities, the team has diversified their position in the roster, and both Jets are configured to be vehicle busters!

Damn. I aint going back to 2042 after this but nice surprise
Insightful. So what are you questioning? The fact that I don't think it plays like COD? Do you think it plays like COD?
COD is as shallow as a puddle compared to even the most basic battlefield offering. Try running around Stakeout for a single game and tell me that equates to your battlefield 6 experience.
Same. I am pretty annoyed by it. I really really enjoyed it and I bought the game already. but now for the next 2 months, I am forced to go back to call of duty for my online fix and I just cant find the power in me to play that again.Me now the next couple months:

Apologies for generalising."Folk who think this plays like COD obviously don't play COD"
This statement is false. Many play cod and think this plays like cod. You may think otherwise.
BFV and 1 is even more cinematic, especially on the good BF mapsGame was fucking incredible.
I have never seen war done like this in a video game. Much less multiplayer. Incredible cinematic gameplay.
Only thing missing is gore. That would put it over the top
First time truly playing battlefield and I'll be there day 0
LMAO you've been missing out man.Game was fucking incredible.

COD had me in a chokeholdLMAO you've been missing out man.
Well many of the BF games still have sizable player counts if you want to jump into them.COD had me in a chokehold

I'd have liked to have seen your reaction to Battlefield 3, that was something.Game was fucking incredible.

The free-flowing objective play is still very much alive in hardcore-mode. I never really played non-hardcore ever since BF3 and those issues you raise aren't really of much concern, from my experience.Because invariably it leads to more camping. Battlefield has always been an arcade shooter, not a mil-sim. A longer TTK complements the free-flowing objective play by encouraging players to move around the map and actively target capture points. In Hardcore mode, camping is far more prevalent - players are discouraged from leaving cover when just one or two hits is guaranteed to kill - thus players spend significantly less time on the objectives and the pace slows to a crawl. That may be fine for tactical shooters or mil-sims (for what it's worth, I loved the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm series and Post Scriptum), but Battlefield is not one of those and isn't particularly suited for their style of gameplay.
But but... it is not 30fps!!!Game was fucking incredible.

Dont get it twisted….the single player mode would be infinitely better with a 30fps mode that pushes fidelityBut but... it is not 30fps!!!
So yeah, all shooters are alike and all grunge is alike to those with a loose interest in games and music."Stone Temple Pilots sound nothing like Pearl Jam!"
The statement makes sense if you spend an outsized portion of your time playing CoD or listening to STP. If you have a wider experience then the similarities are more noticeable.
There is 9 maps at launch...The beta made me buy and play Bf1. Got it during the last sale , 4 bucks.
Too fast and chaotic for me. Cramped and small maps, no vehicles. Seeing as how the full release may have only 2 or 3 maps which are bigger and proper BF, it will be a skip for me and wait and see.

There will be a server browser in Portal. Remains to be seen how popular that is though. All Portal matches award the same xp as matchmaking. My thoughts as a huge fan from BF2 through BF4.
Simply having hardcore servers will go a long way in fixing the horrific spotting mechanics and slow the game down a bit.
The class system needs a lot of work as it does not feel like anyone has a well defined role in the squad outside of support. Simple fix would be to copy BF4 classes.
Too many infantry only focused maps on conquest. Worried 9 maps won't be enough and Firestorm will be the best by far. Probably should of remade more old maps.
The slide mechanic needs to be removed or the slide distance reduced by more then half. It should only be used as a bail into cover manuever.
Bring back suppression mechanics
Server Browser and custom servers will be a deal breaker for me personally. Not expecting them at launch as they don't seem to be a priority so we shall see.
Yeah I don't think I can bring myself to play enough 2042 even for the free stuffFUUUUUUUUUU I dont want to play this shit game, but im a sucker for free rewards...
There is 9 maps at launch...
Got it for 'free' on Game Pass Ultimate so I gave it a whirl and it's not as bad as I remember from the beta. But the Iwo Jima map is NOTHING like I remember it in BF1942. I remember US having to actually storm the island via boat but in 2042, both teams are just on opposite sides of the island. Kinda disappointing in that regard.Yeah I don't think I can bring myself to play enough 2042 even for the free stuff
Only 3 of the 9 maps are classic style larger maps? It's like they are sidelining the Battlefield experience for a more Call of Duty style game. Really fucking weird...Only 3 are classic bf size maps tho
Yeah same. I have BFV downloaded, gonna play that one until 6Yeah I don't think I can bring myself to play enough 2042 even for the free stuff
I'm doing it, the Iwo Jima map is fun at least and they have a 24/7 Playlist for it.FUUUUUUUUUU I dont want to play this shit game, but im a sucker for free rewards...
