Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

Ehh... exactly how much do they want you to play BF2042 for these rewards and are the rewards any good?
ill be checking it out but i'm only looking to get the gas mask character skin. the others aren't very interesting to me.

Hell yeah. I wouldn't mind that digital camo for the IFV either...

Sadly the chinese engineer skin (gasmask) is the second furthest along, its at 49 out of 60. So you might as well get the final 11 levels and the other skin if your that far.

I actually went to reddit telling them I had paid 99p for the EA pass and asked them how I could get this done as quickly as possible.

The advice iv heard is if your actively playing a 24/7 redacted server against bots in portal with full XP enabled. If your wanting semi idling with minimum playing then there's a server in portal with helicopters that fly point to point capping and uncapping flags, you board a chopper with a pilot at the start of the round and then just sit there as they cap over and over for free XP.

Apparently this is the most fun way to play 2042 and can avoid having to experience actually playing it which would no doubt ruin anyone's evening.

With the low TTK, lack of space for vehicles (tanks can barely get through half the streets, big maps barely any room for Jets), small infantry only maps, getting melee'd in the back with no audio clues anyone is there. I would say this has way more in common with CoD than any other BF, it's clear as day EA are aiming at that crowd.

I can post my BF hours from way back if it helps too 😂
It doesn't matter if you're trying to flex your e-peen, because you're forgetting BF3 pretty much had all of this on PC with 64 players. If you've only ever played it on 360 (with 24 players), then yes the game felt much slower paced, but BF3 was very much bitched about at launch for how much of a clusterfuck the game was on at least 5 of the base maps with 64 people, on top of how few actual vehicles maps the game had. Tehran Highway, Grand Bazaar, and Sciene Crossing were all exactly like this. I played the shit out of BF and CoD too, you're still wrong.

The amusing part about everyone bitching about the TTK is that there's multiple TTK analysis done on it, including videos floating around on reddit, and it is more or less the same as BF3 and BF4. I think the problem more stems from some guns needing stronger recoil. The movement speed is even slower than BF3 and 4 too.

However, BF3's rush mode was very good, unlike BF6 (at least from the beta). But imo Conquest in BF6 feels like 90% of what BF3 felt like on the infantry-heavy maps.

Got it for 'free' on Game Pass Ultimate so I gave it a whirl and it's not as bad as I remember from the beta. But the Iwo Jima map is NOTHING like I remember it in BF1942. I remember US having to actually storm the island via boat but in 2042, both teams are just on opposite sides of the island. Kinda disappointing in that regard.

Also the game was nearly half filled with bots so lots of easy kills
Its included with PSN as well so I am downloading on the Pro now as we speak to check out how much trouble these rewards will be

No thanks. I'll play 2042 Conquest 128 like I normally do and have a great time.

That game has a such a fucking crazy conquest mode lol I like that they tried something new and I'm happy it is going back to the classic BF concept, but I'm ok at the attempt. Someone needs to try something new in this industry..

I'll head back for Iwo Jima map!!

128 Conquest and 128 Breakthrough (before they removed it) are crazy. Some maps work better than others obviously. They even had a limited time 128 Rush mode a few times, but it was horrible lmao.

For BF6 I was at least hoping for a small bump in the players from 64. Maybe 40 vs 40...
Hell I think it would be neat to try a three team mode like 20 v 20 v 20 fighting over all the flags.

#NeverForget! The early days was fucking crazy for Breakthrough and Rush on 128 lol

I'm happy we were in for the ride, as in the future, someone will think that is an amazing idea and we get to tell them the horrors lol

I was just showing I'm a CoD player in reply to what BigLee said. Fuck off with your epeen shit what are you 12?

You can say I'm wrong all you like, that's YOUR opinion of course. There are a few others in this thread that agree it's closer than ever to CoD, and even the larger maps so far aren't very large.

I have played enough of both to know how I feel on both games. Wasn't bragging that would be childish

I went back to BF2042 and played a round of breakthrough on Iwo Jima.

Honestly, the game shits on the BF6 beta. The map was just the right size to the point where the attackers had space to play strategically instead of just sprinting headfirst into corridor sized chokepoints. There were loads of vehicles in play ranging from choppers, to tanks, to ground transports (including SEA based transports). The attackers actually start off in an aircraft carrier and have to make their way to the island to capture the first base which makes for way more interesting gameplay compared to BF6 beta's one-note map designs. And all this combined made it feel like an ACTUAL war and not just some small meatgrinder.

Gunfights also felt more engaging because eventhough the gunplay admittedly doesn't feel quite as good you actually have to tap fire at medium ranges and can't just laser people from across the map. The explosive projectiles also have more drop so you have to lead targets instead of just pointing and shooting with an RPG and being guaranteed a hit.

Maybe the full game will deliver but I still can't shake the feeling that BF6 will be a low point in the series and that's coming from someone who's been a huge fan of these games since BF2.

The Iwo Jima map is great. Played about five rounds of it in a row after work.

Could be one of, if not the best map in the game.

I am having severe BF6 withdrawal. ended up subscribing to EA play to play BF1 again. Thats the last BF that had this effect on me.

Whats funny is that i had a lot of rounds where nothing went according to plan and it was a brutal grind from beginning to end. But i still kept playing and the next few rounds would be great again. The game is just phenomenal. I cant believe its two months away. WTF am i going to do for the next two months?

Yeah I played CQ afterwards and had an even better time. It flows way better than any of the CQ maps in the BF6 beta imo and felt like a true BF sandbox.

BF2042 Iwo is awesome. Feels like Battlefield. Vehicles everywhere constant chaos. Just played three matches and so much crazy shit happened. I love this game.

BF6 NEEDS to capture this feeling on the larger maps. The beta sure didn't. And hopefully separate the larger maps like BFV did with tactical and strategic playlists.

Played 2042 for a couple hours and probably gonna uninstall it before i get those bf6 rewards, we'll see tho. Iwo Jima is a pretty cool map but breakthrough final point is retarded. Gunplay is pretty mediocre and gameplay is pretty miserable. Performance also shockingly wasn't as good as bf6 at least for me. I was getting some stutters here and there. Movement also felt floaty. Gunplay, movement, graphics, and aesthetics are night and day compared to bf6. It's gonna be a long wait until bf6. Maybe I'll go hit up some of my single player backlog in the mean time.

I thought I was the only one.

You arnt the only one, your just part of a tiny minority of players.

Now keep in mind the current players for 2042 are boosted by people like me who are forcing them selves to sit on idle servers so we can get passive exp for BF6 unlocks while sat in a chopper.

Look at the 30 day average, prior to this more people are playing both Battlfield V and 1, much older entries. The first thing I thought after my first round of 2042 was "man i wish they had given this pass to Battlefield 1 instead"

Only the most shit entries in a series has prior entries beating them years later. Even Battlfield 4 had more players than 3 for its entire life cycle. Its not a "bad launch" that this happens too, but bad games, this is Hardline all over again.

Managed to win a game of Breakthrough on the attacking side on Iwo Jima, game almost lasted 30 minutes. That was seriously awesome and exactly what I come to BF for. If the only had this map at release I probably would have stuck with the game. Can't believe I'm actually enjoying 2042 right now lol.

I play 2042 on gamepass so I am not in those numbers. 🤷‍♂️

Jesus going back to 2042 is rough experience

Boring dog shit
Huh weird, I'm the opposite. Loved what I played yesterday. Just tore through the opposition with the AC9. The gunplay is very arcadey but I like how casual it feels.

It does have the aesthetics of a mobile game. The UI feels cheap and everything looks like it is made of plastic, but it is much improved from launch.

Tac sprint can get in the bin.

Neither are all the people who play Battlfield 1 or V. This is the same argument thats made every time, and it falls flat the same way everytime.
So, could be 30 million playing 2042 and 2 playing 1 and V on gamepass. Steam numbers only means nothing.

that's what Battlefield is supposed to be about. Grand combined arms with space for sandbox, instead of 2-lane meatgrinder shyte where there's no time or need for class diversity on your team. BF2042 went too far in the MASSIVE direction, admittedly.

The 2 big maps they're throwing us a bone in BF6 might have that stuff, but man, beta maps were ass and didn't really service what battlefield is supposed to be, at least for me. Doesn't mean the game is going to be bad, it's just not providing what I as a customer want from a BF game.

What are the chances that I'll be able to simply paste in the data from my user settings in the beta, over to the final game? I forgot to make a note of my sensitivity sliders and I'm a bit pissed off about having to find that sweetspot again.

Did the beta have a user config file that you can open? Might have those sorts of values stored in there to reference when you install the full game.
