WuChang: Fallen Feathers Opens with 114K Concurrent Players on STEAM

Kotaku hasn't made any articles about this game yet. If this chick was just a feminine looking dude with lots of purple and rainbow it wouldve already had a review 10/10.

Looks amazing on PC at max settings, anyone know how to enable dualsense controller input? Tried playing about with the settings in steam controller but no luck.

Was watching the sponsored video from Iron Pineapple yesterday and it looked quite fun.
Seems to have solid combat and level design.

It's UE5 though so it probably looks and runs like shit on base ps5. I might check it out on a deep sale.

21% user score, they should have delayed it on PC.
retarded steam reviews. Game looks and runs great on PC unless you have a 5 year old GPU and 2 year old drivers

What non-sequitur is this? Swords don't have to be part of Soulslike, just like guns can still be part of them.
Yet people call every action(-rpg) game with swords that borrow some mechanics from souls (new pillar of the genre, so it is expected) to be souls like.
If you look at history (not many do and not many have interest in vastly different market) you'll see that both asia and china were always crowded with sword-themed action games. Pretty much the same as west crowded with guns-themed action games.

I don't get people bitchin' about souls-likes. It's a god damn action game. How can one not like an action game when it's pretty much pure gameplay without any Sony branded walking n talking bs?

Why talk shit about Sony branded games here? Jesus you people are insane.

Seriously another one is Gran Turismo 7. It's a GAAS and sim racers are quite a thing on PC.

People need to buy a Playstation 5 then!

Hey the game is still doing well on the charts:

I watched a youtuber who said that there was some controversy in china over this game. I think that may be the reason for the reviews, not necessarily the performance.

Compared to other really good recent games such as ragebound(my goty) this one is doing pretty great on steam. So this game is doing much better than it should based on the discourse which is basically "just another souls." Though many creators in the souls community like to love many aspects of the game and the specific souls niche this game falls into. It's doing surprisingly well. I really think it slipped in at a perfect time here to pick up an audience and think is has likely performed well for them.

I can't help but feel that pure soulslike will fade due to this malevolent injection of "soulslike fatigue" into the gaming discourse and zeitgeist. You don't know what you want you just want it to be easy. I get it. I understand you all too well, unfortunately. You resent us, the souls community. We tolerate it. We move on.

I was thinking maybe the people who hate soulslikes would buy ragebound.

I'm now thinking that people who hate soulslikes....like what do they even play? I'm not so sure it is action games. I want to find out. This contingent who wants to kick my genre out of gaming, what games do they want to replace them with?

I'm actually not confident the answer isn't rage inducing. I'm like 50% sure it's Grounded 2 or some friendslop bullshit on discord but I repeat myself. Meanwhile we got an asian girl with her whole ass hanging out of her kimono in a game that requires skill and dedication and rewards with accomplishment and all we get is "soulslike fatigue."

Well? 128th position in top sellers after a week since release is "doing well" now?

Part of the people that hate Action RPGS with Soulslike systems aren't actually going to play them to begin with.

The Soulslikes I enjoy are those with great level design on par with Dark Souls 1 where everything connects together in ways that make sense.

I think it's more about getting that 3D Super Metroid or Symphony of the Night kind of game and most Soulslikes are room to room with stiff unbalanced combat. And really Souls games and their clones are just the modern day 3D Castlevania or Simon's Quest.

Give me DS1 level design and Severance Blade of Darkness combat and I'll play that game.

I think certain boss balance issues aside Wuchang is probably one of the better Action RPGs out there.

Terms of exploration I think DS1 and Elden Ring has them beat.

And of course now Donkey Kong with it's Layers/Levels being stacked on top of each other.

Now. If Fromsoft starts making adventure games with Sekiro combat I'll buy them all up.

Just look at the user activity. Nobody outside of China really gives a toss about this game. It's barely getting 9k when they're all asleep and we're only 2 weeks into it's release.
