Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

I think I'm in on ps4, watching crosshair footage is swaying me hard right now...looks like it could be really fun with a good squad. Anyone looking to play add me : Moneyman232

I was holding out some modicum of hope that Visceral could come up with a decent campaign, but the Giant Bomb Quick Look made it look extremely lame.

It's bad and boring. Also you only play as a cop for an hour or so ! After that it's yet another cliche story about revenge with horrible characters. The cops and robbers theme completely fades away. Forget about bank heists, undercover work or police raids.... it's prety much Army of Two Devils Cartel part 2.
It's sad because it's starts good and it's like a buddy cop film but it's all downhill after that.

Also dat horrible and abrupt ending : S

From what I've seen the ending is like something out of Bioshock.

Ah hell. Was hoping it would be the video game version of Southland. Guess I'll be trading my games for something else.

This is horrible. I was hooked at "It starts good and it's like a buddy cop film" Then I finish the sentence and am sad pandas "but it's all downhill after that"

I appreciate you posting this, I was about to pick it up.

I would wait still, your'e taking this off of one person's experience. Another person on this forum said he liked the ending.

This is true, honestly Battlefield games shine on multi-player but I was seriously hoping deep down inside that the story would be decent. By decent I mean not the next freaking Hollywood blockbuster shit script.

Is there a spoiler thread for this game? I don't really care about the single player but your comments plus this:

just made me curious about the ending/general story.

I pre ordered the digital standard edition, however my pre load clock states it's the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Did I just luck out?

I posted this also on reddit. Its about how applying of boost works in Hardline.
Imo it sucks,

"Its changed compared to BF4. Now if you activate one. For example objective boost 200% you get those points instant when you can cap a flag. 750 i believe instead if 250. I think this is quite broken because the standings are now all messed up during the round. Now you can play crap and still end up als MVP just because you had the boost on. I had a round where i had the most kills from my team and most flag captures. But didnt had a boost on. Wich ment i still was number 15 of my team at the end of the round. Makes no sense."

"Tested it also with the boost for kills for the operator class. Activated a 25% boost and got everytime 125 points for a kill instead of 100."

Terrible design decision.

Was it like this during beta or were there just no boosts available?

Well, shit. I was hopeful that Visceral would be able to make a single player Battlefield experience that was actually good. I think that makes it one vote for yes, one vote for no in this thread. I need more impressions!

UPS claims my Amazon copy is coming tomorrow and that it shipped today even though that its Sunday...makes no sense to me but my UPS tracking has never been wrong about the delivery date. Will Sony ban me for playing online a day early? I couldn't care less about BF SP mode. My friend was banned from Xbox Live for playing a legally bought game online a days early =\

You should be just fine to play it online.

Thinking of purchasing this on PC, but is anyone able to tell me if I should be sweet with running the game smoothly on these PC specs?

i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
16 GB RAM

Cheers!

I'm leaning toward picking this up for PC too so if anyone can say if my specs are good to run this as near maxed out (at 1080p) as possible I'd appreciate it

I said I wouldn't buy it and would stick to BF4 for my current gen BF fix but ended up cracking and buying it digitally. What swayed me was my friends decision to pick it up to play competitively. I also have a feeling that once hardline releases the BF4 community will thin out for awhile as everyone will be switching over to hardline cause its new. I still plan to play BF4 and I do believe the BF4 community will pickup again once the new maps are released and people are bored of HL.

I suck at the multiplayer, but enjoyed the single player with EA access first 2 levels, I wonder if this will be put on EA access next year, but wouldnt mind buying it for cheap this fall

Looking for some friends that will be playing the Xbox One version! Just send me a GAF message with your gamertag and I'll add you up!

Alright so my roommate snagged a PS4 copy earlier so him, my brother and I all switched off and ran through the campaign today.

I'll keep this as condensed yet informative as possible.

- Graphically, doesn't even hold a candle to Battlefield 4's best vistas; but we've known that for a while. The Xbox One version definitely looks rougher around the edges (I know from the Access Trial) but that can mostly be attributed to the lower resolution.

- Variety is certainly here. I opted for Stealth play the majority of my play time while my roommate and brother both tried to go guns blazing at all available opportunities. Surprisingly, it always worked out poorly for them. That's commendable and a nice shakeup.
- We played on whatever the second difficulty mode was (can't remember it's name but basically Normal) and it was fairly challenging as I said. All together, took 8 or so hours.

- The "Previously in Hardline" stuff would work super well if your play through is broken up over a set of days like a television show but it's stupid and annoying otherwise.

- Not a ton of weapon variety.

- Don't be fooled, the game isn't predominately a cop story. We all agreed it reminded us of the film Contraband in a lot of spots.

- Humor is generally a hit or miss game with most of them landing on the "sensible chuckle" end of the spectrum but damn, there are some reaaaallllyyy awful lines here too.

- Story isn't really engaging in the second act, it starts strong and simple then slows to a repetitive crawl for a bit then picks up near the end untiiil...

The damned awful ending. Let me tell you, this "twist" takes the ending of Robocop, mixed it with Bioshock 1's ending and of course... It's a fucking cliffhanger ending with you walking into the Batcave after pulling on a lion statue and discovering gold and cash while a "Would You Kindly" sort of voiceover plays over the scene. The final words spoken are "What are you gonna do with it?!" And then you pick up some Gold and say "Oh my God" aaaannd roll credits. Let me tell you, this is some sequel baitey bullshit and it brought the entire experience down with an anchor.

Overall, it was on track for a 8/10 campaign for what it is but after the Spoiler above, it dipped sharply into 5.5/10 territory.

I've put in 1100+ in BF4 so I'm kind of excited to play a new Battlefield. I'm honestly more hyped for the campaign than the multiplayer since I played both of the betas and was underwhelmed by both.

$30 on ebay for a PC code

Ah damn. I might bite on this. Really liked what I played of the game on my XBOne, and I REALLY liked the multiplayer beta. Seems like a no brainer to get it at this price. Looks like the seller is legit as well.

Now I'm personally conflicted. Having played every version at one point or another and the entirety of the campaign on PS4, I don't know which version to get!

I have existing progress on Xbox One from the Access trial but 720p and I don't have many friends buying Hardline there, on PS4, 900p and I'll have some friends getting it Day 1 but they'll drop it after a while and head back to GTA V or PC where I can max it at 60fps no problem but my friends won't buy it for a while.

Ugh, if I could go back in time to 2004 and show the younger version of myself what buying a game in 2015 is like, I'd have jumped ship before it became one of my many primary hobbies.

I started stealthy and got bored so now I snipe from a distance and then go in when I need to. Fuck flashing my badge I'm just shooting. Granted I started this after a certain point in the story. After that I didn't really feel like a cop. So I didn't play like one. I'm on episode 7 I think but I have to bring it back to my store. I'll finish it one day. It's been different. In a good way. Except for that damn boat level. That shit was annoying.

I noticed Amazon still hadn't shipped my order so I went ahead and cancelled it. I'm iffy about paying full price for this, especially at a time when I will probably be too busy with school to play much anyway. I'll look to grab it in a couple of months when the price drops a bit

Really? Man that sucks. I had a great time with the single player on the EA Accsess trial, the hold up mechanic was just real cool and being a sucker for cop shows it had me hooked. That not lasting long is a real buzz kill.

Anyone know when the PSN preload goes live in Australia? And also, why are these preloads left to the last minute? Just upload the files already jeeeeesus!

I'll try to get it this week.
But usually physical copies take about a week to reach here... and i dont have any PSN funds to buy it on the PSN Store.

I agree.
And
when you confront him he's like ''Hey join me and together we can rule the world ! '' Lol such a cringe worthy moment.
And somehow he (your ex boss) in less than 3 years becomes a powerful corporate leader with his own private military and secret island : O
