Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

I wouldn't mind if they split the franchise into a multiplayer-only series and single player-only series. I loved Battlefield 2 and didn't have any need for a single player campaign back then. But if they're insisting in creating single player content then they should at least make a good game.

Its funny to me that as the consoles age, and we get into the second gen games, everything is taking a step back graphically. WTF is happening?

This,

NBA 2K was a huge step back graphically this year.

Im a little confused as to what is going on.

Are you seriousness, Not only is it my opinion, but many many others. Its not hard to find online.

It was a big step back compared to last year.

Maybe if you'd played the game you'd understand why it's nonsense.

And btw, NBA 2K's sales are up over last year's, which were up over the year's before. So I don't know what "many others" you're referring to, but it sure as hell aint backed up by the sales numbers.

I'm very interested to hear what people think of Hardline. There's still room in my life for Battlefield if it's quality.

Watching that GB Quicklook was the nail in the coffin for me.
I wasnt getting this game, started to waffle a little bit and am now back to being checked out.
I have BF4 for MP still so the compelling part of this was the cop centric storyline. There arent a lot of cops and robber games.

But this game looks fucking boring. Framing into episodes sounded cool except the episodes dont look like they are paced like a TV show. They have a cool opening credits per episode and then it becomes a typical FPS campaign.

any MP impressions?

how do choppers survive longer than 2 milliseconds with damage from guns being added? is it balanced?

also, is the TTK really quicker than BF4?

I'm finding it humorous that people are deciding not to get this game because of the single player campaign.

The multiplayer is one extra mode that should have been an expansion pack to bf4. Changing the name of a mode and have it be the same as conquest, isn't anything new.

I'd be all over this if it was just an expansion for $15. Graphics aren't an issue for me, cuz I'd get it on PC.

for anyone who has put some time into MP, how do choppers survive longer than 2 milliseconds with damage from guns being added? is it balanced?

TTK is lower at extreme close range, but damage drop off on weapons starts a lot sooner and the TTK at long ranges ends up much higher than BF4.

Some guns work different to this rule tho, the SCAR is still a monster at medium to long range.

This game isn't really indicative of the graphical fidelity of the Frostbite engine or the consoles though. Visceral didn't create Frostbite, and didn't have a whole lot of time to work with it to push this game out.

If DICE's own Battlefront looks this bad, THEN I'll start worrying about this generation.

From the few leaked shots though, I highly doubt that will be the case.

What do sales numbers have to do with the fact that GRAPHICALLY the game took a step back. I have it. If you are denying that, I don't know what to say. Last year it was the best looking sports game to date. this year the payers look like ass, and the lighting has all been removed.

This stuff is not a revelation, it easy to see.

I think 2k looks the same the past two years. I think that "leap" between last gen and this gen was overblown just like everyone was overblowing COD being "sooo much better looking."

At least on console.

Funny how little hype this game has compared to BF4 even though Conquest still exists. Is it the lack of guns? Absence of tanks? Just curious.

NBA 2k IS definitely a graphical downgrade this year in my opinion but I don't know what this has to do with Battlefield.

It doesn't feel like much of an evolution. The multiplayer looks like more of an expansion. I had fun with EA Access but I am still not sure i will purchase it at full price.

You are right I am sorry. I was just disappointed with Hardline graphics, and felt like many games are taking weird steps back this second year, and I don't understand why.

Just preordered this, will also be my first BF game. Any tips for a former CoD player?

Don't trust cover because more often then not, it'll be destroyed.

Spot spot spot. All the time.

Communicate with your team if possible at all available opportunities.

Play the objective, kills mean nothing if you lose.

Try to be more reserved than when playing Call of Duty. Hardline definitely has an infantry focus but still, cautious play is recommended. Defense is the best offense and all that.

Don't waste vehicles. Especially in Hardline where they're a rare commodity, make sure to spare them for people who will use them effectively if you cannot.

Spot enemies (R1 on PS4) as much as you can.
Try to not go off wandering on your own.
Help your team with your gadgets
Play the objectives.

Ok thanks guys, I'm looking forward to playing this evening!

As the others said, spot at all times.
Remember to use your gadgets to help out too.
Play the objective. Yes having a high K/D is nice but it really doesn't matter in BF especially if it's one of the objective modes.

Imo it's great that you are jumping into the Battlefield series starting with this game. I think it'll be a good transition as this entry is more infantry focused.

Huh, Battlefield 4 scored mostly in the lower 80's. I don't see this one doing that much better.

It is better than BF4 was at release, why wouldn't it score better?

The multiplayer is one extra mode that should have been an expansion pack to bf4.

Conquest, Rescue, Crosshair, Hotwire, Blood Money, and Heist = 1 extra mode?

Being salty is one thing, not being able to count is something else.

CPU power you would expect from a 2010 laptop. The more these games do under the hood (AI, physics, scripting) the less power for graphics.

Blood money is obliteration
Crosshair is Rush with a moving objective.
Heist is defuse with respawning
Rescue is conquest assault with hostages instead of flags

Hotwire is something any BF game could have if they implemented cars as DLC

1 new mode. The rest are redressed. This should have been an expansion.

Is GMG the cheapest place to get the game for $49.99 via VIP? The SP stuff looks super interesting to me and the MP looks like stupid goofy blockbuster action fun so im really hyped.

Wow dick.

Anyhoo, looking forward to the game. Seems like rather than rushing a yearly release, taking a year off for a franchise and taking their time with it pays off.

there's an ebay seller who is selling it for $30 a page or two back in this thread.

Is it legit? Seems weird a dude happens to have hundreds and hundreds of keys for half off for a game that isn't out yet. I don't want to support someone who sells stolen keys or nothing.

"Battlefield Online 201_"

"Battlefield: _______"

Two separate products, each good quality/content, each priced at $40 tops.

I'd go for that!

Even better, offer a $60 bundle of both.

No idea, I'm not buying this at launch. A few posters said it worked. The auction says he gets them legit and if the code doesnt work he'll get you a new one.

If it costs the same either way, and it would being EA what is the difference?

Are you really that hung up on the terminology? A rose by any other name...

$60 + Premium ($60)

versus a $15 expansion that should have been included in the bf4 premium.

Be interesting to see if the PC version has full 360 controller support this time or if its another Battlefield 4 where it didn't show the controller icons etc. More for single player I guess as I'd play multi with m&kb.

the latter. that didnt sound like a joke at all
FWIW, it was meant to mock trigger-happy cops. If you didn't read it as such, it's on you.

And what's all this talk about this should've been an expansion? There's like a full 10-hour campaign along with a whole new slew of multiplayer stuff. What about this seems like it should be an expansion?
