Tried once and it itches like hell. I know it will stop eventually but hell it itches :P
Going to try again tho. A man got to see his beard and abs at least once in a lifetime...

Yea, it itches more in the beginning. Also itches more in the neck area, so "draw" a decent neckline and shave it there, it was always a relief for me.

Absolutely. Mine didn't fill out till my 30's. Especially those connections.

That's good to hear.

Mine has filled out over the past few years, but it's still a little way off from perfection. Hope it continues.

Any promising oils/remedies that may stimulate extra follicle growth or thickness?

What do you do with dandruff in the beard, I get it rather bad which puts me off growing it.
What are you doing to keep it clean at the moment? I had dandruff problems when I was younger, so I started to use anti-dandruff shampoo and it stopped it. No reason you can't do that with your beard.

Personally I just use a natural soap in the morning, when showering and before going to bed. Whenever I feel it's necessary, basically.

I just use Bulldog face wash.

I will give the anti dandruff thing a try, maybe do it twice a day while it grows.

Hey guys, so i'm a first time poster here but i would like your advice.

I have a good full beard now since a couple months but how do you guys keep the hairs from flying all over?
It's not too bad but some you see hanging there and i like to keep it all together.

Also, i have very stiff hairs so is there anything you can do to.. undo some of the stiffness? :)

Thanks in advance guys!

Let me join the beard selfies party :D

You can simply use anti-dandruff shampoo to wash your beard.
Jojoba oil, which is an ingredient of a lot of beard oils, should also help with flaking.

Theoretically a beard oil or balm should help with this - both of them soften facial hairs, and beard balm additionally help to keep them together. I say theoretically, because even though I use a beard oil (I tried few now) I still have a stiff hair here and there that doesn't submit to combing and just sticks horizontally or even upwards.

Beard oils/balms really help me with random flyaway hairs. Also softens the beard overall.

I've accepted that my beard will never be 100% under control. I keep it trimmed, clean and use beard oil at least once daily but it's never completely uniform.

Embrace the wanton nature of a good manly beard!

Been watching the BeardBaron for the past year. Since I am finally out of working a regular job, I am going to let it get all scraggly and then shape it up. Or I could just keep it scraggly and blend in here. lol

Beard oil makes ALL the difference.

Great to hear. The stuff i ordered will arrive soon and then i will start to take care of my beard. I'm very curious what the oil and balm will do. For the past months i did nothing and just let it grow but it's getting to a point where i need to do something with it :-)

What type of product should I be using to tame, style, and flatten an unruly and wiry beard?

I'm already using a conditioner in the shower and beard oil but that only softens it.

Balms do provide some hold and management, but also look into a great local barber that is great with beard trims. They may be able to help with a minor trim where other methods don't work.

Question about balm, I've been using Honest Amish balm for awhile but while watching the beard baron videos I noticed the balm used in his videos has a significantly different consistency.

The beard baron stuff is closer to a wax whereas mine is like a bunch of small jellish pebbles that easily melts.

I hope that makes sense, what's better? Should I switch?

How is my beard looking Gaf?
Have I progressed beyond stubble yet?

How do you stop food and drink getting in your mustache when you are eating/drinking btw?

irserious cat, yeah yeah I know.

My beard game is weak and hasn't progressed in like a year and a half. Do I just submit and shave it all off or do I stick it out waiting for my lame genetics to catch up? Seeing people in here saying theirs didn't grow into full until their 30's has me mighty concerned.

You don't, you stop caring, carry some napkins and make people accept you for who you are.

I eat soup every day at lunch, usually something bad for my beard too, and my lunch mates can deal. I wipe my face a lot. Drinking beer, again, it's their problem not your's!

All this talk of oils...I just shampoo and occasionally condition mine with regular hair conditioner and mine is relatively soft and supple. Does the oil really make much of a difference over regular hair products?

Can't agree with this at all, there's no reason personal hygiene needs to slip.

Best thing I can suggest is to give one a try and see if you get any benefit from it. I need it to keep mine moist and soft (and it helps the skin underneath too), but then all I use to clean is a natural soap so there's no real moisturising (the opposite in fact) or conditioning going on with the cleaning process.

As I've been using it for a week now, I wanted to give a shout out to Scruff Stuff. Terrible name admittedly, but a really cool idea: it's a subscription based beard oil service. You sign up and the first bottle is £1 then each month after that they send a new bottle for £7 - there are a few different smells, first is Candyman and it's very pleasant smelling; sweet without being cloying like the last one I tried.

Not sure what the deal is with international shipping (if they do it) but worth a try if you're based in the UK.
