Started listening to this on Spotify or I otherwise might not have bothered. I don't mind Beck but was never inspired to really pick up any of his albums.

That said, this is a really beautiful album. Some of those chords hit "feels" and that's really rare for an album that's not already had memories attached to it. I approve.

Ugh, Amazon.ca is being so slow with the shipping of my vinyl copy. Even though I pre-ordered it didn't get shipped till Tuesday, and the last update the tracker gave me was departing Concord Ontario on Tuesday, it probably won't even update till after it gets delivered sometime next week (hopefully). I've been trying to avoid listening to this online... so... tempted....

I prefer Beck's melancholic ballads to the oddball mashups like Devil's Haircut, but I can see why people who think otherwise wouldn't care for this or Sea Change.

It's boring. It just sounds like old hat and beck trying to recapture something that came from a very specific moment in his life. Disappointing, but it's ambitious so that counts for something
