Despite having some good tracks, your list sucks. Also, the new Mase single is rather boring.

Breathe, Stretch, Shake. Cool song.

I am glad to see Obie Trice's Lady on your list. That song is AWESOME. :lol

I've been playing a lot of rap as well. The Black Album in particular. Hated it at first but it has grown on me a whole hell of a lot. Allure is probably my favorite song on it, but it's such a quality album (in general) that I'd listen to almost any track at any given moment these days.

Check out She Wants To Move by NERD. good song. ;p And I see you got the Dale son. ;p

That list is basically these two mixes that I made for my car. One is primarily Nas, Biggie, 2Pac and Jay-Z (hip-hop's biggest rivalries) and the other is a club mix (Houston, Don Omar, Chingy, J-Kwon, Fabolous, etc.)

Supah Nintendo, Sega Genesis...

Juicy is so the shit. But Notorious Thugs is just

thats the only good one from your list.

My favorite song on that whole double disc album. No one seems to agree with me lol.

Otherwise, I don't listen to tons of this genre... but I do like Blue Scholars, most older Outkast material (Atliens, Aquemini) and Handsome Boy Modeling School. Plus Akrobatic or however it is spelled.

Here's some I've been listening too:

380. Ciara feat. Petey Pablo - My Goodies (3:45)
381. LL Cool J/Timbaland - Head Sprung (4:00)
382. Petey Pablo - Vibrate (3:54)
383. Youngbuck - Let Me In (3:49)
384. Fat Joe feat. Mase, Eminem, Lil' Jon - Lean Back (remix) (4:19)
385. Juvenile - Noila Clap (Remix) (3:18)
386. Lil Jon and Lil Scrappy - What You Gonna Do (5:20)

Yeah they list is pretty poor no offense. Chingy is about as low as it gets.

Sometimes club banger-type songs are fun to listen to. You don't have to listen the so called "elite" hip hop "Rap about life/shit's messed up in this world" type stuff. Gets heavy after a while.

I can't stand 90% of (popular) rap/R&B fronm the past 4 years. Dunno why, considering I'm a huge rap fanatic. Although, I can't stand 90% of ALL music played on the radio, period. 2000s popular music is so soulless.

I didn't say club-banger stuff isn't good but Chingy is not.

You need to be listening to Warcloud. Seriously the Best MC out there that you've never heard of. His only two albums are internet releases, i.e. free. One is "Smugglin' Booze in the Graveyard" and the other is "Nightmares that Surface from Shallow Sleep". He was formerly known as Hollocaust and did a bunch with Wu-Tang, you might remember him from a few Killarmy tracks from back in the day and the first Bobby Digital CD.

He's since become dusted and only raps about Candy, classic monsters, fairy tales, and like killing giants with axes and shit like that. His flow is kind of weird, the beats range from pretty good to below average, and the final mixes are all horrid, but man he spits fire, even if it doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

I really hate elitist rap/hip-hop self-proclaimed aficionados. It's like listening to everything that isn't mainstream is "da shit" and anything else are "points against your taste."

And you only find them on the Internet for some reason.

DIE!

Juicy is cool though, if only because Biggie mentions Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis in the lyrics. And shows Street Fighter 2 in the video. He got geek cred.

Why don't you recommend some good tracks for him then, instead of just telling him his music sucks.

I've been pimping Dracula's Wedding since day one. Right now I'm campaigning for it to be added to the karaoke list at the school...I can sing all of Andre's part perfectly! :-|

There is no doubt in my mind that you are the PERFECT candidate for castration!

And yes, you should listen to Talib Kweli. Remember folks, this September comes the long awaited Beautiful Struggle. I can't wait to cop that shit.

Somebody please tell me what's so great about talib Kweli (as a solo artist I mean. I liked blackstar well enough). I listened to a couple tracks of his off his solo, and his songs didn't interest me in the least. Dude seemed weak voiced and too dennis millerish by his lonesome.

Whats his best solo work that I should listen to?

Nas - You know my style
Terror Squad - Take me home
Terror Squad - Let them Thangs go
Jim Jones - Get Crunk Muzik
Cam`Ron - Shut the Fuck up

^except the Crunk I'm listening to, those are some songs that get regular rotation on my playlist

Hi-Tek and Talib Kweli are Reflection Eternal (or something like that). The Beautiful Struggle leak was weak for some choise tracks IMO.
To me Brother Ali never truly gets the shine he deserves on the net or the mainstream, much more versatile even if he doesn't drop as many syllables.

I don't know why Talib gets called up in a party track thread, dammit Waiting for the DJ doesn't count as a club track :p

Anwyay regurgitative artists suck both as mainstream club bangers/ thug love songs and as 'the world sucks so much right now' backpacker mc's.

Right now I'm listening to Digital Underground....Yeah I'm the Packet Man...love that 90's beat :)

Poody

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?
from the top of my head listen to

Gang-starr,
emeinem (infinite)
Foreign Legion - kidnapper Van
Tribe Called Quest
Common
Dr. Dre
J5
Mos Def
Talib Kewli
Nas
OutKast (atliens, stankonia... anything with andre3000 spitting)
The Roots
Ugly Duckling

Just to clear something up:

Those are just the songs that went into my car mixes. I've got every Nas and Biggie song in my actual playlist. Nas is my favorite hip-hop artist. I've got more than a handful of 2Pac tracks (nearly 45) and Jay-Z as well.

He's a very good writer -- lyrical that is. He tries to go beyond the hackneyed themes in modern rap and speak about other, more important stuff.

My three favorite songs right now are "Get By" -- which is about 'getting by' without alchohol or drugs, "For Women" -- a rewritten cover of the song by Nina Simone, and "Lonely People" -- a cover (sort of like the stuff on the Jay-Z/Beatles Gray Album) of 'Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles.

EDIT: Oh yeah, also listen to A Tribe Called Quest. Real good stuff like Talib, but from the early 90's.
