Like it being a VR game. You play the game normally, then the accident happens. Then u play the game for 10 mins on a pitch black screen having only audio and haptic feedback. Audio then starts having a visual representation. EASY VR game idea.

You can already lure hordes into camps, i cleared like 6 camps in my last run with that method.

That Days Gone true ending man...NERO was injecting their own personnel with the virus, plus, with Deacon injecting himself with the "experimental" drugs throughout the game (NERO boosters)...There were some clear implications that by the 2nd game he'd also be infected and slowly but surely turning into a "super mutant" himself, that, or it could have been the game's "twist" at the end.
Maybe they could have had some game mechanics revolving around that in the form of abilities like super-jumps/tougher skin/souped up Witcher vision (enhanced smelling)/faster movement etc etc...
Either way, it's fascinating stuff since there's lots that could have been done with the game's lore.
What a friggin shame, this, IMO, was Sony's best open world game surpassing even games like Ghost of Tsushima.
Unfortunately , we're gonna get fed with GOW, Marvel shit and GaaS till the end of times from what it seems, sad turn of events really.

The original team continues there, the only two who left were the two game directors, one of them being also the main writer.
This is what Bend did say about their next project: "We are currently working on a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone, but brings you a whole new world that we are extremely excited to craft for you. We cannot wait to reveal it to you when the time is right."
Notice the difference between "a new IP that includes multiplayer" and "a new multiplayer IP". Pretty likely will be something like GoT, Uncharted, Returnal or similar: mostly a single player game but with a secondary game mode.
They didn't say anything that could lead to think it's a GaaS.
Sony never received any Days Gone 2 pitch from Bend.
Sony approved the first pitch they received from Bend, which is the new IP they are working on. Sony must have been happy with Days Gone because in addition to this they ported DG to PC, included it in their selection of best PS4 games that was the PS Plus Collection and now they are making a movie adaptation.
