Ugh, last night was such a hassle with getting my B2G1.
I pre-ordered R&CF:aCiT, Forza 3, and Tekken 6 from BestBuy.com for pickup from my local store, which just opened in my county. "Woohoo!" I thought, "I'll run in after work on Tuesday, pick up my games, and head on home!"
WRONG!!!
I go into Customer Service to get my pickup, and they have nothing pulled. Takes the people behind the counter a while to figure out what's going on, so a half hour later they finally tell me they don't have Tekken 6. "No big deal," I say, because Tekken 6 was the one of the three I wanted least. "Can I get a raincheck and make sure it will be free, as I want to take advantage of the B2G1?"
Nope, they can't do anything like that. The manager happily informed me they have plenty of the LE of Tekken 6, and I could buy that instead. Sure, like I'd MUCH rather pay $150 than FREE! I check availibility of Tekken 6 on my iPhone while I figure out what to do, and EVERY OTHER STORE in my surrounding area has plenty of copies. I'm kinda pissed at this point, because the next closest store is an hour round trip away.
Finally, after about an hour of waiting around for them to tell me all this, I say fuck it and find out how I cancel my order. I have to call their 1-888 number to do that cancelled, I can't do anything in store. WTF! So, I call, wait 15 minutes on hold, get a guy, he puts me on hold for 5 more minutes, then I get disconnected. FUUUUUUUUUCK!!! I call back, irritated as hell, and finally get a person who can help me. She cancels my order and I get an email saying it was cancelled. Finally, someone who did something correct.
So, then I get in my car, drive to the other closest Best Buy, get my games from a really helpful employee,
post a profanity laden video to Twitter, and then FINALLY get home 2.5 hours after I left work.
Shit like this is why I love Amazon with Prime so fucking much.
TL,DR: My local Best Buy blows goats and they should have a plan to deal with shortages when they have a promo
