Best commercials EVER. Post yours...

I seen this tv ad about a year ago (while high) and I thought it was the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. Well tonight, just to make sure it wasn't the weed manipulating my thoughts, I decided to go on a hunt for this commercial. Turns out it was an ad for a liquor called "Bombay Sapphire", and I have finally found the the video to show everyone.

It's called "DRIFT". It's on the website posted below under the "Now playing at SAPPHIRE inspired films" section. Download ASAP and try telling me honestly that it isn't one of the coolest pieces of artist animation you've ever seen. Seriously. Anyway, post some of the coolest TV ads you've ever seen..

"DRIFT" (BOMBAY SAPPHIRE)

*BTW- the other films on the site are pretty awesome as well

The new "Got Milk" commercial with the Russian family and the Pillsbury Doughboy is freaking awesome. I wish there was a place I could download that commercial.

ps.- did any of you even watch it yet?
Yeah, it's cool for art's sake, but I'd say it pretty much fails as an ad. Certainly doesn't make me think about alcohol or want me to buy theirs. But yeah, the art's cool.

Fuck off, you conclusion-jumping assface. It most certainly is the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Called "Russian Family," the commercial opens in St. Petersburg on a dreary winter's night. The snow is falling as a Russian family soberly slurps their watery soup. Life is definitely not a bowl of cherries. From nowhere we hear the unmistakable voice of the Pillsbury Doughboy. Dad looks up, grandma drops her pot, and the music begins to play as the Doughboy pushes in a huge plate of his freshly baked, chocolate chip cookies. Everyone takes a bite of the warm, irresistible cookies, hugs and begins to dance around the kitchen. Life is good.

However, the celebration comes to an abrupt halt when the horrified mother emerges from the kitchen, screaming "Moloko" (milk in Russian) and shakes an empty milk carton. The music ends, faces drop, mouths clog with warm cookies and once again milk deprivation reins terror on the world. The commercial closes on the shocked face of the Pillsbury Doughboy and, of course, GOT MILK?

I dunno. That's the only liqour ad I've ever seen that makes me want to go out and try the stuff.

Anyway, that's not the point. I just thought it was cool as hell to watch. That was kind of what I was getting at when I was asking everyone to post their favorites. Not funny or clever, just visually stunning, awesome commercials to watch.

I guess I wasn't very clear...

I like the condom commercial that someone posted here a while ago with the kid screaming in the grocery store. Awesome.

edit: haha, that blind date commercial was awesome too.

I really liked those Honda commercials several years back, especially the one featuring the Barbie/Ken dolls.

There was a Bud Light commercial about 6 or 7 years back that had two guys sitting in an igloo: one fully bundled up and warm, and the other in just a shirt and pants, obviously cold. The less-clothed guy has a bottle of Bud Light, however.

The warm guy goes, "I'll trade you this scarf for that Bud Light", and the guy just looks at him as if to say, "yeah, right". So he proceeds to offer his hat, then his jacket-- none of this is enough to convince the man to give up his Bud Light.

So then they cut to the next scene, which has the guy who originally was all nice and toasty sitting there naked except for his boxer shorts, shivering, clutching the Bud Light proudly, while the other guy is sitting across the table all warm in his new clothes. The shivering guy points to the other and triumphantly exclaims, "HAH! You got a raw deal!", exuberant over his acquisition.

So then, the other guy pulls out another Bud Light from under the table, much to the first guy's chagrin, and says "I never said it was the only one"; the now-freezing guy's face drops. Hoping to regain the upper hand, he acts all smart-alecky and waves a bottle-opener in front of the other guy and goes "nah nah nah" (since now he's the only one with th means to enjoy it, despite the fact they both have a beer); the other guy responds by twisting off the cap.

The look on the first guy's face is priceless. The commercial is still the funniest one I've ever seen, and pretty creative, too, imo. I'm sure others here have seen it. :)

Yeah, that's a classic. I love the end.

"We've got chemistry here, you feel it?"
"I felt it"
"Alright Janice!"

I like that relatively recent Budweiser one (I think) with the the guy trying to send his phone number out across the restaurant to some hot girl by ordering by number on the menu. Gotta love that little clink of the beers at the end.

I miss the commercials that were on Japanese television.

Girl sits at table, with a cabbage in front of her, and a bottle of green tea to the left of the cabbage. She stares at the cabbage for a few seconds, picks it up, puts it on top of the green tea bottle and the commercial just ends.
A few weeks later, the same commercial plays, but at the end the cabbage gets sucked into the bottle.
Not as good when described, but everyone I know who saw the commercial loved it.
There was also the one with Bob Sapp singing, that ruled.

The one where the Orange Juice's cartoon character jumps out of the bottle and comes to life!!... followed by the family surrounding him begin screaming in horror as the cartoon sun runs after them, trying to explain to them he's just trying to give them Vitamin C.

The best commercial I've ever seen was the Invest Wisely commercial from eTrade after the .coms crashed and the eTrade monkey was riding through .com land on a horse amidst the remains of all the dead companies and he comes across the pets.com sock puppet picks it up and cries.

Best commercial ever! :D

Greatest commercial ever.

In fact, I still recite that commercial to this day, and no one has any idea where it's from.

2001 Nissan Maxima Commercial -- A Maxima sits on a road and the sun begins to set. As the sun is about 3/4 set, the Maxima takes off and begins to accelerate wildly -- it's speed is so furious that it's managed to wind the sun back up and it watches it set all over again.

God I fucking love that commercial. I think I may have a link of it.

you sure you aren't thinking of the Nissan commercials? The ones where the Cowboy doll takes a barbie doll on a ride in a 300ZX? I loved those. And when the old japanese guy would pop out and go "NISSAN LUUUUUUUUV TRUCK!"

While not funny commercials, I do have a fond respect for those new HP commercials. They are very well done and I wouldn't be surprised if they win an award for them.

I like those commercials too, especially the one with the Baba O'Reilley song. I thought the Pictures of You commercials were creative.

I never saw it on TV, but it was a Nutrigrain commercial with the guy eating a nutrigrain bar and going "I feel GREEEAAATT!" then he talks to a female employee and asks her to marry him, then she screams "YEAH! BABIES EVERYWHERE!" It's hard to explain but it was one of the funnier things I've seen. Anyone have a link for it?

The Barq's "Johnny?" one is classic.

Recently, I love that Levi's one with the mannequin who just can't let go. So weird and the song is perfect.

The 'ice' gum/mint one (can't remember what exactly it is) where the guy in the cab takes a whole bunch and his head freezes solid. The way his girlfriend is speechless with horror until the cabbie turns and yells, and then the head falls into the girls lap who starts screaming, and then the cabbie is screaming more... haha good times.

Nike's football commercials are usually really good. Especially those released around major events like the World Cup or Euro. My favourite is still the humans vs devil commercial from all the way back in 1996 starring Eric Cantona doing his trademark jersey thingy......

GREAT COMMERCIAL! Man, I had a link but its dead. This MUST BE FOUND.

I wish I could find this commercial online. It's the Burger King "Wake Up with the King" commmercial.

This guy wakes up to find The King IN BED with him who then HANDS HIM BREAKFAST. The King has a giant head and kind of looks like the King from Mr. Rogers. It freaks me out.

That was actually a real commercial!? :lol It was so bizarre that I figured it never made it to air. Yeah, if that's an actual commercial, then that's the best one ever-- hysterical.

The best is how, after his manager goes "you're a great guy with great people skills and I'm coming with you", the guy goes "oh yeah"-- just the way he says it cracks me the hell up. :lol
