Well like they always say buy low sell high and at this point it really isn't going to get much lower (I hope)

So what are the best e-trading sites?

Well this is just play money. Only a few thousand, so its not like I need this money for a long time. So this would be mostly long term investments so I have time to wait for the market to go back up.

Charles Scwhab gives you a bank account with a Visa and have great trading tools.
Zecco is dirt cheap, but the tools are cumbersome.
Etrade is awesome, though you need 1K to open a account.
Sharebuilder is for total noobs.

That's my experience. Running on Schwab's right now though.

I got scottrade for the streaming stock ticker but then I got a Charles Schwab for the interest checking + atm rebates and now I just use that

For the average person, scottrade. It's the cheapest per trade and there are no rules or penalties for trading too much or not enough (I believe etrade has some rules about how much you must trade?)

Their website isn't all fancy, but its solid.

It is actually a great time to invest if you pick the right ones. I just put that up for a joke.
