I think comercial success is a dumb reason to nominate an album unless it's something ridiculous like Adele's "25." My other issue is that there have been plenty of other albums nominated with most likely less sales than "Joanne." Also "Joanne," scored higher than Bieber's "Purpose." Honestly though we should probably discuss this next year when she doesn't get nominated and we can complain how the Grammy's nominated something else ridiculous.

Not according to critics it's not. Purpose is only considered good for three songs and while I love those songs, Joanne is better as a whole and more cohesive. Purpose is a very basic album especially with the latter few songs and the features on his album do not make any of those songs better. If you want to argue that Singles = Album than I agree Purpose is better, but that's the only way that makes sense.
