BF3 PC and PS3/Console screenshot and video comparison

I was just thinking that BF3 really seems to come across as blurry, though maybe it's just all the shaking and effects going on.

I hate to think what it will be like if your screen blurs further when someone shoots near you due to the suppression effect (if I understand correctly how that's going to work).

I don't know that they said your screen will blur from nearby suppression fire...I think you need to be fired AT, from an enemy, for it to blur?

PS3 looks great and retains the look and feel with PC just having some expected extras.I think lots are just surprised as PC was to be lead this time and expected nothing as close.

Those screen in the OP are a horrible horrible way to compare. Taken from the videos themselves I take it? Terrible.

In motion it looks absolutely fantastic on PS3. Much better than I was expecting. PC will obviously always look better, but DICE obviously know what they are doing with the PS3 hardware.

What in the world did people think they were going to see? The cell somehow make the PS3 version better looking than the PC? lol

To me it looks like the console versions are gonna look great and people will be satisfied with their purchase.

I seen it last night on my TV in HD, I can honestly say it looked worse than Medal of Honor & MW2.

Jaggies, really low res textures etc... The animation was nice & couldn't really tell how the lighting overall will be from that short clip. They're definitely not putting much effort into the console ports though.
The lighting was the part that stood out to me. Watch how the soldier slowly falls into shadow after being shot.

What? Did we watch different shows? It looked great in HD on my Samsung.

The PC version has obviously superior PQ, but last night's footage worse than MoH & MW2 on consoles? As Kevin Butler would say "Come on!"

The lighting, animations, particle quality and density, and motion blur are on a whole other level in the PC version. These probably contribute the most to the WOW factor the PC version has, which sucks for the console versions.

I am drawing no conclusions from this comparison. Its pretty obvious then PC version is going to look significantly better, but we won't know the difference before the games actually come out.

If you have a decent PC obviously buy it there, but it looks like console gamers are going to get a nice product as well. Exact same situation with BC2.

Define your definition of "decent".
Everything shown of BF on the PC was running on $500+ graphic cards & it shown framerate drops & other problems as well in some videos.

The MP video first posted on Origin was locked rock solid @ 60. Not saying it is guaranteed to be locked at 60, but the MP vid didn't have any frame drops.

yeah ps3 version still looks better..for serveral reasons

1 the textures...just look!
2 sony has the power of the Cell nothing on Pc comes close
3 the dualshock controller

Oh man, for me, this is the main reason why I won't buy fps for PS3, bring me mouse pointer, wii mote or even move to aim but please kill the analog stick aiming =/

I don't think it looked that great. It had a sub-HD look to it or maybe it was the jaggies that were messing with my eyes. Either way, it didn't really look that much better from BC2.

Or maybe it was the TV broadcast. We shall see when they release a proper version.

To me the PS3 footage seems far worse, but I don't have a gaming PC so I'll have to deal. Besides, when I finally sit down to play this game, I'm not gonna be studying the textures.

I think screencaps from videostreams aren't really the best way to showcase the power of any machine, because everything is lost in a mess of blurry and artifacts.

Why are most of the screenshots not loading for me?

EDIT: FUCKING TINYPIC GODDAMMIT WHY DONT YOU WORK ON THIS ONE COMPUTER
