actually psone/n64 ---> DC. I didn't buy a PS2 yet (ridiculously overpriced) so I settled for a dc. DOA on the Dreamast made my jaw drop. The generational leap forward was HUGE. When I saw DOA3 xbox, I was unwhelmed. Looked more of the same.
GBA to PSP would be the correct answer but it fails to realize that there was a generation inbetween.. you know, the generation that lasted about 3 weeks (2 in japan).
The handheld generation list fails to recognize game&watch type games.
Not a very good troll I admit. However, it is pretty much true. It does sit inbetween the GBA and PSP in terms of technical prowess, so it probably deadened the shock of PSP games to my system.
The main point of that post was to point out the omission of game & watch.
Gotta be from PSX/N64 -> DC for me... For the first time, 3D games actually looked *GOOD* and not either a hideously warped and grainy mess (PSX) or a totally washed out, low poly count, blur (N64). Other than that I think the jump from ColecoVision/Intellivision -> NES was really big.
N64/PSX to DC is such a DC fanboy response. The biggest technological leap was unquestionably the 16-bit to 32-bit generation leap. 2-D to 3-D, end of story.
