Hey sorry man, I was AWOL from the forums for most of yesterday. This is one of the threads, the big box office one that most people remember. I can remember another similar thread from even earlier when the first Avengers trailers were dropping where I personally got into it with someone, and which was where much of the "will bomb" talk came from. Unfortunately I can't find it at the moment.

Edit: The best part of that thread is the time period between when Avengers smashed the opening weekend record and TDKR released. People double down even harder that TDKR will "crush" Avengers.

People always use this as proof of some horrible corrupt guy I was, but as a mod I was very particular about following the rules for banning and stuff, and I would never ban anyone who was part of any debates with me (unless they were insulting). But I wasn't even the most corrupt mod NeoGAF ever had. I like Dragona, but she had the be the most corrupt :P

I remembered one and I don't know if it was posted, but since then the thread was deleted by mods. The one gaf user who met a girl and got his tire locked near a starbucks. Anyways, he made it such a big deal that he got some or whatever and users found her profile on OKC and linked her to the thread where he was talking about how easy she was. OP got shitted on by gaffers.
 
I've been reading through this on and off all day. Holy shit at some of these old threads, they're glorious!

I'd heard tales, but never fully appreciated...

I just finished reading the thread about the guy going to meet the girl he met on the internet like 2 weeks before. There's no conclusion?! I need to know! Does nobody know what happened?

The user was banned for a while for that post iirc. This post occasionally comes to mind even when I'm not on GAF and it makes me laugh every time. can't say that about anything else on this site. It's so ridiculous, but so understandable at the same time.

Ahhh I was hoping we'd see some Dreams-Visions here. He's improved my LoLGAF time greatly with his posts. Don't miss his tag post either, it's pretty damn great.
 
Does anyone remember this thread where someone was asking to be banned, but the mods just chose not to do it instead? Then members start to advise him to post highly NSFW pics and he does and the mods just edit his post and not ban him. Then members tell him to start posting porn and he does. He gets banned along with a pretty big chunk of the posters in that thread.
 
Has anyone mentioned Yoshichan meltdowns? Those are always fun. You can generally find them in whatever (Blizzard) video game thread he is currently playing. So many broken keyboards posted!

The Bayo 2 Wii U exclusive reveal is still a goldmine. Especially for the fact people still can't accept that it's Wii U only exclusive to this day, a year and half later, so we still get threads and posts where people go nuts. Hilarious.
 
Watching the JBaird thread unfold in real-time while detective GAF did its thing was amazing. We all had to go ly dow after that.
