Biggest videogame shockers?

Are there facts to back this up?

It's likely that this low number reflects difficulties in manufacturing the technologically advanced PSP console, but some commentators have suggested that Sony may be deliberately reducing the number of units it manufactures early on, to avoid taking huge losses on hardware.

The company's manufacturing costs for the console are likely to fall rapidly in the early months of production, and the firm may be hoping to build hype for the system with a limited launch and then to release a proper supply of units to the market once per-unit losses have fallen to a more acceptable level.

They were just assuming back then, but I doubt it is actually true. Was looking at their last financial report and it doesn't really tell much in that direction unfortunately.

On topic: The 2nd castle in SotN O_O

The ending of Killer7.
Garcian finding out his true identity and that of the Killer7 was a big shocker to me. After seeing how he individually killed the Killer7 members including Master Harman several years ago, he shoots the third eye of his younger self in complete agony.
Once he finds out he was carrying the weapons of each individual Killer7 member in his case, the once so bad-ass murderer falls down to his knees in disbelief and starts crying. Touching music starts to play when the credits roll by in this strange, shocking ending, of an even stranger game.
Yes, and also when you find out who the main Heaven Smile was. *gasp*

The Princess was actually in the last castle. Ho-ly shit. :lol

Two little tidbits for all those Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door fans...

1) When Hooktail the dragon
eats the audience
. It was unexpected and seemed really out of place for a Mario game. Seeing little
Mushroom people being chewed up
isn't something I'd ever expect to see in a Nintendo game.

2)
Evil Peach
. The game became weirder than I expected.

"I am Bowser, business man of legend. Fear my accounting."

Biggest shock moment in that game was being
PURPLE and LEFT ALL ALONE.
:lol That was genius.

LET'S CHECK THE INTERNET!

oh look, the internet

Oh look, a Jr. Member.

How cute.

If you watch the original arcade intro, the "hero" who is later named as "Rick" in the US TurboGrafx release, is chasing the girl into a stormy forest with a machete. That is the first scene in the entire game, a scene which is NOT disavowed ever in the original coin-op - ergo, "I believe that was just some bullshit they tagged on to avoid a controversy."

Biggest surprise that ever was, ever is, ever will be was Samus being a girl.

NO ONE predicted that. Any other surprise ending in a videogame atleast 1 person, somewhere, had even the slightest inclination as to what the twist was going to be. But NO ONE knew samus would be a chick.

I Win.

SMT:N

when you find out the truth behind the Laberynth of Amala and the Old Man :O

best RPG this gen.

Super Mario Bros. back in '85.
That game came out of left field, seriously.
Back then all I had was a Coleco Vision with a few games,
Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, Venture, etc...

To play SMB for the 1st time, WOW!
I was seriously blown away, heck, I remember the first goomba giving me trouble.
(I was 4 or 5 at the time.)
That first goomba itself had more game design than most games at the time.
Then getting past that goomba, woah, I was in for a major treat.

That game lasted YEARS after it came out, new tricks, ways of warping to new levels,
the infamous minus world, etc...

I still play that game now, atleast once a year. (Last I played was a week ago.)
For it's time, it has to be the biggest Video Game shock, as it totally changed the industry.
(It was the 1st official MEGATON.) :lol

So, the main character is wearing a white dress in the opening shot? Because the character in whtie is following the character in blue through a forest. And then the character in blue is next to the character in white as they go into the house. So I guess they switched bodies or something OR YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT

Hehe, yeah that was a shocker. And when the credits were rolling and they showed all the characters I was expecting them to come back to life. Square really knows how to kill off a character(s).

Uh, they do come back to life. In fact, every character you thought was dead comes back near the end. :P

MGS2 was pretty shocking, and I don't mean Raiden, I mean how fucked up the storyline gets at the end. Hell, I was prepared, I knew it was screwed up, but it still had me going "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON". MGS3 had awesome twists too.

Shadow of the Colossus:

Screw Aeris, I never liked her to begin with. But when Argo "dies"... he was like your only friend the whole time, and he was so faithful to you and eveything, when you see him fall you're like "NOOOOOOO!!!"

I vote Super Mario 64, FF7 on Playstation, Aeris dying, Celda, Revolution Controller, Resident Evil 4 in its entirety, and the best multiplayer game evar created...........

Goldeneye 007.

If that's true, then why is there no mention of it anywhere? Hell, even a few screens from MAME would confirm this.

Soma Cruz being the reincarnation of Dracula in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Didn't see that one coming.

Edit: Already added. :lol
