Gates will probably push more of his bullshit education initiatives. Which basically come down to more charter schools and making primary and secondary education an industry that him and individuals like Betsy De Vos can further profit from. He's a good guy with his foundation but his support for charter schools and "school choice" are really upsetting.

Distraction or not, pandering or not, powerful people need to be in discussion with the President whether you like him or not. Just to reiterate to everyone what is going to happen. Trump is going to meet with Bill Gates. Gates is going to give him a spheel about saving the planet or something along those lines. Trump is going to nod approvingly and seem interested and even open minded to Bill's points. Bill leaves and seems happy Trump listened. Trump continues to not give a shit and says whatever needs to be said to whoever he's in the room with to make them happy. Bull shit mountain continues to grow.

This is delusional. It's not personal begging. We should be wanting as many smart people to meet with Trump as possible. To bury our heads in the sand and deny reality is more dangerous.

I'm glad people like Bill Gates are meeting with him. Even if it produces no results in the right direction.

So what should be done, then? What should the people in power do who have the opportunities to actually discuss things with him do? If the chance of actual, legitimate deals can be made that push our country and the world, even so slightly, in a less shitty direction, should we not take that chance? What good does doing or saying NOTHING do?

Yep, pretty well believe this. Really hope Gore or Gates can get through to him, but since Trump just seems to shrug everything off and say everything will be the best, he's kind of a question mark.

Trump is POTUS. It's absolutely absurdly mind-boggingly fucked, but he is. So why not try to sway him from fucking up literally everything? Makes perfect sense.
 
He's more than likely pushing climate change, which is great. A business goon like Trump will eat a meeting with Gates all up. Bug the tower if you have to, Bill.

But, yes, CNN has forgotten all about the more important news of Trump being practically ineligible and conflicts of interest, not to mention Russian ties. The media does suck. Bi-partisan agreement.

Gates recently started a billion dollar investment group to encourage growth in renewable energy. I figure only good can come from this, he's pretty much the polar opposite of Trump.
