Hail to the KING baby
The man has been in some of the greatest comedies ever. Most great comedic actors would be lucky to have 1/5 of his comedy resume.

He's not an actor, he's a character. There's a big difference.

He's one in the same. Awesome guy. Can overload on sarcasm, or go subtle. Not to mention he's a huge chicago sports fan. Whatever he's in, he makes better, simply because he's in it. Anyway, my favorite roles of his.. John Winger in Stripes. So many great lines. Groundhog Day, just a classic. And Big Earn in Kingpin. He just rocks.

Where is the Zissou love?

And tell me that he was "just a comedian" in The Royal Tenenbaums, Ninjas4less.

It could be said the exact same for Jim Carrey.

Bill Murray rocks. Funny seeing old SNL reruns. You'd never think he'd be where he is today. Imagine Jimmy Fallon turning out a career like his.

Better yet, imagine Jimmy Fallon still making films in two years. Difficult, isn't it?

Just because he's not playing Russians or retards doesn't mean he isn't an excellent actor. His characters have been very diverse.

Fuck Bill Murray. He's the reason Ghostbusters III will never be made. :( If it wasn't for that, I'd love him as much as the rest of you...

It's probably a fucking good thing Ghostbusters III was never made. It probably would have ruined the Ghostbusters name and if anything, we should be thankful to Bill Murray that he prevented such a travesty from occurring.

That might be true, I dunno. I remember hearing some good things about the script. Then he [Murray] came in and said he'd only do it if Peter died in the first ten minutes, so Akroyd tried to write in some junior Ghostbusters and it started to suck. ;__;

Speaking of Ghostbusters, though, when the fuck do we get The Real Ghostbusters Season 1 on DVD? People get My Little Poney but no GB love?

That was his best movie (not to mention my favorite movie of all time). His witty and sarcastic remarks was classic, and he was the perfect fit for Peter Venkman.

When Groundhog Day aired on AMC last week, it was interesting to find out that Murray and Ramis had a strong enough agreement on set that Ramis thinks the two of them likely wouldn't ever work together again. (Ramis being the director on GD)

I love Bill Murray, what else could I say about an actor who starred in these movies:
The Royal Tenenbaums
The Man Who Knew Too Little
Groundhog Day
What About Bob?
Quick Change
Ghostbusters II
Scrooged
Little Shop of Horrors
Ghost Busters
The Rutles

Another reason I like him is the German voice actor who dubs him in most of his roles.
His name is Arne Elsholtz and he also dubs these actors:
Tom Hanks
Eric Idle
Kevin Kline
Steve Guttenberg
Jeff Goldblum
"Jimbo" (South Park)

I normally prefer to watch movies with the original soundtrack, but this guy has such a great voice (here's a rather smooth sample, but he's also able to sound very badass).

Do you mean disagreement?

Bill Murray is a god. Sure, his career has a decent number of duds, but it's still an absolutely amazing career. He's done everything, and a lot of it. Ghostbusters will forever kick ass. I love how I thought it was a scary action movie when I was little, and now it's a hilarious comedy.

Oh, and you guys are forgetting this role:

Has anyone see Hamlet (with Ethan Hawke)? Murray plays Polonius in that one. I've been curious about seeing him in that role for a while, but it's never exactly on the top of my to-watch list.

Yes. YES YES YES YES. Ghostbusters and The Life Aquatic are my two favorite movies ever. My cat's name is Egon, no joke.

I cannot believe this thread has gone this far without ANYONE mentioning Lost In Translation. His performance absolutely made the movie, and I don't know if any other actor could have pulled off that combination of charming humor and lonely desperation in the same way.

I surprised anyone would even want a Ghostbusters III after Ghostbusters II (which we really didn't need in the first place). The first one was good enough and they should have just left it at that. Just because there is a good movie that doesn't mean there has to be a sequel. Heck, if anything his decision not to further milk that series makes him more admirable to me.

The only movie that I don't like that has Bill Murray is Lost in Translation. But I have several reasons that I will not get into, because this is all about the awesomeness of Bill Murray.

I can't believe I forgot about Ed Wood. I'll go punch myself in the face right now.

Are you kidding? Ghostbusters is the kind of franchise that I just can't get enough of. The type of world they're in, it's endless how many things can be done in it. Sure Extreme Ghostbusters really, really sucked, and The Real Ghostbusters was prob'ly better than any GBIII/IV could have been, but has anyone read the new comic series? It takes place right after GB, erasing GBII from history and it FUCKING ROCKS SO HARD. The writer has the characters down PAT. It feels just like another Ghostbusters movie, everyone acts exactly how they're supposed to. Everyone who's a GB fan should check it out.

Oh yeah, Caddyshack rocks. Everyone in that movie does.

"Hey, who stepped on a duck?"
