In new tape, bin Laden threatens U.S.

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- A new audio statement allegedly from Osama bin Laden threatens more attacks on U.S. targets "as long as you maintain your support to Israel."

The statement was broadcast Sunday on the Arabic-language Al-Jazeera television. Although the voice on the tape has not been verified, Al Jazeera said it was that of bin Laden.

In the statement, bin Laden claimed responsibility for the attempted Christmas Day bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight.

The al-Qaida leader said he wanted to deliver a message to America: "(T)hat America should not dream of security until we enjoy it as a reality in Palestine."

"It is not fair that you enjoy a good life while our brothers in Gaza endure the worst standard of living," bin Laden said. "Therefore, God willing, our attacks against you will continue as long as you maintain your support to Israel."

Bin Laden has been in hiding, reportedly on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, for the past eight years. Sunday's message is bin Laden's first in seven months. He had six in 2009.

Iv read many people try to downplay the US support of Israel as the primary reason for 9/11 and the continuing Jihad against the West. Here Bin Laden spells it out again.

Illegal Israeli occupation and settlements on Palestinian land must end if the west wants peace. Iraq and Afghanistan supported the Palestinian cause and were invaded because of it. Iran are demonized for the same reason.

I agree that Gaza should be liberated, but definitely think that taking your marching orders from a cowardly madman like Bin Laden is stupid.

Pretty much. Now if he had said "stop supporting Chicago and we'll stop pretending like we can still attack you" I would be all for selling them out.

that might be true but Islamic Jihad came to light right after Israel was formed as a nation. Prior to that Muslims and Jews lived in the same neighborhoods

You're right, Bin Laden really wants peace and will stop attacking us if we just cut off Israel. We better do as he says guys.

yeah but now both Jews and Muslims have become suspicious of each other due to the screwed up ideologies of these Wahabies in Saudi Arabia and the screwed up policy of deal with foreign relations by Israel. both make thier political decisions on religious basis which is the last thing that they should be doing

I have said it before. An Islamic Khilafah state is the only solution to peace in the Middle East.

I find it strange that every time Bin Laden contacts us it's through audio tapes. It's a bit weird considering he always used videos in previous times (most notably when Bush was running for re-election in 2004).

Bin Laden has been dead since 2002. Before that, he was a CIA trained agent of the mujahideen and family friend of the Bush's. 9/11 was such a play, you people need to wake the fuck up.

No it stems from our country since WW2 sticking our nose in region that up until that point had virtually been nonexistent. Israel only makes the powderkeg that is the mid east worse what it was before we started various regime changes and destabilizing the region for the pursuit of corporate profits and the petrodollar. If there wasn't money to be made in the region most of the west and various groups for like the military complex wouldn't be there.
