Downloading a torrent just fine and then had to restart the computer because my taskbar dissapeared, and when i open up the torrent again not more than 45 seconds after i closed it i get a "torrent not registered by tracker" message. Now its fucked.

What a world.

I think I get a slightly different message, but it's along the same lines. I've never been quite sure what it means though, and if it's the client or if it wouldn't matter which client I was using, I wouldn't be able to get it anyway.

Its not the client. They all do the same thing with a few different features here and there.

Im using bittornado by the way, and i just tested it with ABC and got the same message.

It means you have to register at the website where the torrent originated from. You then open the torrent from the original site and voila error gone.

I've had that problem... what usually worked for me is deleting the torrent file itself, going to the page it was on, redownloading it and rerunning it. Then just point the download to where ever you had it before so it resumes.

Fixes a lot of the random tracker issues based on my experience.

That i would try except i cant find the torrent on the tracker page anymore. It was working before and then 30 seconds later it went to hell.

Azerus WAS great for me back before my pc broke down. Anyway, completely cleaned the pc and am downloading old stuff and Azerus says it needs java. Asks me to download it. Fine, I do and the java website is supposed to configure to my pc and it begins then freezes. I tried downloading it off download.com and it won't dl. Wtf? Azerus kicked ass too

Note to our Macified friends: Don't use Azureus. It'll fuck you up good (at least it did me on 10.3.5). Stick with BT. It's worlds better than the Windows client.

as an aside, to get your task bar back you could've just gone to the task manager, clicked on "new task", typed "explorer" in the text field and pressed enter. that should bring it back.

I was downloading a torrent last night, was just too slow, 2-3 kb's a second. Just now I opened it again and was at 98 kb's in a few seconds :S

Yep that was an absolute bitch, i had to get if off kazaa.

If it's not on the tracker page any longer, then it's probably gone. Look for the torrent elsewhere.

If you PM me with that it was, I might be able to help a bit in finding a new tracker.
