Black Desert Online |OT| Come on in, the sand's fine [Mediah Update]

So, i'm gonna drop using a spreadsheet. We have no use for it since we're gonna already fill up the guild's max space at this rate, and we have enough people where guild quests are rather easy now and we can get new spaces rather quickly.

If there's anything else i can contribute with, i'd be glad to help out.

A lot of the characters I see in this game have that spray tanned look.
Yeah, didn't look that bad in the character creator will probably lighten her up with a character redesign coupon. Wish the armor though had less of a boob window

Also me and my sister would like to get in on the waiting list, we're in no hurry though

I just picked this up today, and after three hours in character creation, I'm finally ready to play.

Could I get a guild invite? Not sure what info you need, but family name is Mizzrahi, and character name is Lehana.

But we're not important. We're cogs in a larger world.
Even without being important, the thing is that you can actually look "big" by buying armors on the cash shop, why not by rewarding your acts in the world? Guild Wars 2 did a pretty good job at it, b2p wise, or even Blade and Souls, even if f2p, the game have a good balance between cash shop / in game armors (and shows good financial reports).

I have a good time with the game, but I wouldn't complain if it had more and better varieties regarding equipments, without having to pay for it.

Daum should just put out a free day or two trial on their website, seems like there's not enough codes for those who have geniune interest in the game

Why? Almost no game has a demo these days.

Most of us have trusted the previews, countless videos on youtube and now gaf opinions and parted with our cash.

I just got a sick gathering uniform from a quest chain!

So you guys aren't kicking people any more for missions? If that's the case, could I get on the list for invites? If you guys can do missions fairly easy now and aren't really starved for players I don't see the need for me to hold off joining again.

We're still hitting the cap basically every day at the moment, but we're also increasing it by 5/10 slots every day.

Right now it's 58/65, so there are open slots. The best way to get in is to contact one of the officers, either through an in game whisper/friends request, or the Discord channel. Here's a list of all the officer family names:

Dysphoria
Spazznid
Androidcandy
Ishamaru
ROBOKITTYZILLA
Venteal

We've reached the point that we constantly have enough people on that can bust through guild quests constantly to open up more slots that kicking isn't necessary, really. We still reach cap quickly, but we can also open up more slots fairly quick too with the active members we currently have.

Guild wars 2 started off well in that regard, but the longer its been out the worse its got. All glider skins are gem store, and most new cosmetics too. Where it saves itself is you can convert gold to gems, does BDO allow that, i couldt see when i was on last?

anyone else online? tried pming each and one of those people and everyone was offline :(

Loving this outfit but totally agree with everyone else that for me, a big part of RPG/MMO gaming is seeing my character progress and with that progression should always come a heap of different outfits along the way.

A real shame here because the rest of the game is amazing and is making it the most addictive MMO I've played in more than 5 years.

The cash shop is pretty pricey. I may be wrong, but a set of armor is about $25. Sure, they look decent but even $20 is way overpriced.

It's a fun game, but they are teetering with that cash shop. If they go too heavily into it and start putting everything in there it's going to get annoying really fast.

Pass the goblin camps near Velia and in the mountains you have coal/copper

oh wow thanks I'll take a look!

Things like this are why I am a really big supporter of getting to level 50 first (grinding it out), then going back and doing quests/professions/etc.

You have the whole map explored, you'll have a few million just from drops and rewards for initial investment, and you'll be able to start collecting scrolls for your dailies/weekly for black stones.

Well , you're right but I don't feel like rushing to 50. It wold also be boring.

I've been taking it pretty slow since launch. Treating the game more like a traditional theme park, moving from hub to hub questing/grinding. I don't mind the slower pace and I already have a hefty amount of contribution points and knowledge for when I invest in crafting.

I prefer the leveling experience to anything else in MMOs so I have no regrets taking it slow.

EU GAF has 3 spots left for now.

I'ld love to join the EU guild. I'm on a guest pass atm but I'm buying it either tomorrow or on thursday. Thing is that I can't play that much during the week. Should I wait a bit until you guys have a few more spots in the guild?

I have been out in the ocean on a raft for HOURS connecting nodes for a trade route. This is honestly way more fun right now than the combat in lots of MMOs. I really miss this kind of stuff.

Didn't you get caught by pirates?

I'm tempted to do a big journey with my shitty raft to the islands around Illya but I fear pirates will kill me and lose the raft.

How do Guild Missions work? Do they have to be assigned out by the guild master or what's the deal with that? I can't seem to accept any of them.

Guild Leader or officer has to activate them, and they are times. Everyone works together to complete it. It is not a personal mission, so you cannot start one. It's a group mission for the entire guild

Not been able to play since Saturday really. Gonna makes me a boat tonight potentially, or start to at least. Rafting adventures sound great.

a friend of mine finished making the fishing boat yesterday and took us out on the water for a while.

We ended up fishing for what ended up being almost 2 hours.

The trip out

Fishing on location

I got lucky and fished up 3 crystal shards on the trip in addition to all of the fish we caught. I'm amazed at the variety of fish in the game. When we were moving swiftly through the water, I caught an Amberjack... makes me wonder if speed influences what fish you catch.. standing still vs moving.

We had a lot of fun and can't wait to do it again.

AFK fishing until I get home from work. For anyone looking for a guild invite that can't reach anyone, you can add me as a friend and send me a message through the friend menu. When I'm back on the game, I will send you a whisper and get you added as long as you are online. You will need to reply back to my whisper so I can access the guild invite context menu. It's weird, I know...

Family Name: ROBOKITTYZILLA
Character Name: Kuronuma

* When adding friends, it wants you to enter character name by default even though it looks like it is asking for family name.

Technically the costumes are about $20. The $29 price includes a matching weapon skin for both the main hand and off-hand weapon which you don't have to buy. It's still too expensive though. I think $18-20 for the set and $10-15 for the costume would be more reasonable.

I agree that it looks pretty good, it fits the wanderer guy travelling accross the world, but it still feel like levelling gear (and I assume it is).

Had no idea about GW2, I played at launch during some months. Regarding BDO, you can't convert your IG currency, but you can buy sets on the AH. People buy them on the store, keep the seal on and put it on sell (unless it has been removed for EU/NA).

That has been removed on the western version, yep.

Rafts are mind crushingly slow. I mean so bad you'll hate yourself for building one. Build the rowing boat instead (Called a ferry in game for some reason). It's much, much faster.

Thanks to crafty slow motion sailing I avoided them all.

I was thinking about making one before going to hunt open sea nodes. Maybe even doing it at the Illya island? Although I have everything in Velia.

But nice to know you can avoid them anyways.

Been having issues with my internet but it's fixed now. I'll be on later for some guild quests and hopefully we will be more successful with the fishing.

I was mainly talking about performance, not gameplay(forgot to write that though since most people in their plea for guest passes added that they wanted to check performance before buying the game)

Mainly because there is a lot of people that is interested and isn't really sure if their computer could run it. You kinda don't get to know if your pc can handle it reading previews and the like, as there's very few that mention how the game would run on a lower end setup. Here on gaf and reddit you see a lot of people wanting to try out this game so they can see how it runs on their computer before buying.

I took a bit of a leap of faith when buying this game when it was closed beta 2, luckily it ended up running fine on my kinda shitty computer.

Besides, more games SHOULD have demos these days, especially on pc when people have such a wide variety of hardware
