Bleach Manga |OT| Return of the King

He'll probably be knocked aside or something. Though I guess a dramatice sacrifice for Ichigo to win would be appropriate, but given how death averse the series has been I wouldn't count on it.

Does this feel rushed? I feel like only a few chapters ago they were fighting minibosses that won't keep dead and now all the important characters gather for one final fight moment. Maybe I'm wrong.

You are right it feels super rushed, like the decision was made recently, and with out Kubos knowledge or input and now he has to try and make an ending work before the security at Jump throws him out on his ass.

Also I don't think Renji is going to die, that dumb weird flashback thing was about shipping him with Rukia to get her out of the way for Orihime because Kubo has atrocious taste.

When Aizen says "Bankai" a whole new level of fuckery will be unveiled.

Alas, Aizen no longer has a zanpakutou. His bankai will remain a mystery forever. Just like Yhwach's goddamned motivations and backstory.

...and why the hand of the soul king (whatever the soul king even is) was a fucking sternritter.

UGH

We'll probably get some halfassed chapter quickly recounting what led Yhwach to this, though it may simply be his nature and desire to survive at all costs. Still would like to know more about WHAT the Soul King was and WHY he was in that state. Guess they could do both in one chapter though given how linked they seem to be.

I expect lots of rage posts and whining when Aizen loses to Ywach.

The dude is end boss with most OP power, Aizen might fair better but don't expect him to win

The hogyoku is supposed to adapt to any survival need. I mean the guy survived Final Getsuga in arguably better shape than Ichigo. Yhwach, for all his godlike powers , was apparently human (still might be, I guess) and has to sleep and stuff. He's also done surprisingly little damage beyond killing his own people.

Agree with this but I still think Aizen goes bankai. For sure he still has hypnosis powers, not even sure the guy needs a zanpaktou tbh. He seems stronger than ever now.

I could be forgetting some events, but maybe Yhwach's ability's sole weakness is not being able to forsee Quincy attacks? He seemed quite surprised when Ichigo used his Quincy powers with the black and white blades, but easily stopped his Bankai when he released it.
Would explain why he absorbed Ichigo Quincy power; it's not like he needed any more strength really. And it leaves a nice opening for Ishida to use deus arrow machina.

Nope it feels very rushed, particularly after flailing around for so long.

The pacing in this arc has been wildly inconstent through out. Its had battles off screened and screwed around for chapters. I suspect Kubo wanted to do something longer and the editors have been applying inconstent pressure to get on with it.

True. Although I really can't blame them, how long has this final arc been going for now? 4 years? And in all that time it still hasn't been consistent or even consistently decent.

I welcome the rushed pacing. I don't what in the fuck Kubo was thinking with some of these fights. Especially that Gerard guy. Where the fuck was he even going with that? I don't think even he knew. Anyway, isn't Aizen immortal now thanks to the Hogyoku? I know that doesn't equal invincible but I'm gonna be really fucking pissed if Aizen loses or dies. My only hope for this manga now is that Aizen ends up being the final boss again.

Hahahaha, that would be perfect, the page right after pitch black.

Needs a smirk to end it tbh.

Edit: Popular Bleach reviewer Tekking says Yhwach did all of this power sucking so he could be able to fight/defeat Aizen. It's kind of wild but I guess it might make sense. The hogyoku does make him invincible and ever-evolving, and though Yhwach w/ just the Almighty was enough to defeat Ichibe he probably wouldn't have been able to easy defeat Aizen at that point. So now we have the 3 ever-evolving entities (Ichigo being the 3rd) in one place for what we guess is the final battle.

I could see Aizen revealing he got his Zan back using its Shikai then a close smile hinting that Ichigo is now under his influence.

Also it's always been Renji X Rukia since the Renji flashback in SS arc it spelled it out clear as possible

Aizen vs. Yhwach, I realized just now, is like Legato vs. Knives. I really wanted to see that, so this could be spectacular
(even though it won't be)
.

Also, I thought Aizen lost the Hogyoku. Didn't Urahara say something about it no longer recognizing him as its owner when they defeated him? So Aizen will have to rely on his overwhelming power and chicanery here, which might not be enough to stop Yhwach's even more overwhelming power and alleged omniscience.

This could be Aizen.

We used to speculate the Soul King was the real final boss. Not anymore I guess, and he wasn't much of a king...

Aizen: Ban... kai

*Appearance totally changes*

Aizen: Since when were you under the impression that I wasn't the Soul King?

Turns out his bankai leaves a dummy of himself in the true history while he gets to act outside of history via a proxy, hence why he can plan so well. Also why the Soul King is a bunch of reiatsu pieces

It would be very Kubo

Yet it would be a proper way for finish Bleach.

You guys are kidding, but would it be THAT far fetched to suggest maybe Aizen was so bored of being all powerful that he split himself into two entities, the husk (soul king) and the shinigami, so he could learn to fight and enjoy himself again? And that now he's gonna take his powers back from Yhwach and say thanks good guys, villains, readers and Kubo, I remembered who I was, I've had my fun and now I'm gonna chill for a few millenia?

It would be funny if it was 3 entities, so Aizen could have the "my son" talk with Yhwach. Your schrift is "A"? Who do you think gave you that schrift? Basically he's the progenitor.

This sounds like Bleach.

The Pernida thing was so wtf that anything can happen regarding the Soul King

Obviously Ichigo would also be the fourth entity. Aizen fought obviously himself in the Arrancar arc!

The worst is that Aizen's whole motivation, as revealed at the very end of his arc, was basically "the Soul King is a disgusting monster and I cannot abide it." The fact that we'll probably never get any of this Soul King shit explained in a satisfactory way not only ruins this latest arc, but never gives Aizen's motivations the closure they needed.

SIGH

I don't agree on the rushed comment, this feels logical, they already dealt with the rest of the officers, this really didn't need more filler shit to drag this up for more chapters.

Seeing that it was basically a dismembered torso stuck in amber is probably enough reason to go "fuck that shit."

My friend and I used to joke around about Kenpachi ending the series with his bankai, but after his underwhelming Oni-pachi reveal, nothing is sacred in Bleach anymore

A big reason I never wanted him to have a Bankai is because I didn't think Kubo would make it cool enough. Not only did it end up just being Necalli's V-Trigger power up from Street Fighter V, it ended up being useless against the only character he used it on and the way he got it didn't even make sense, LOL.

If Kubo still have sanity left, he'll give us atleast 5 chapters of Ywchach vs Aizen.

Ending with a flashback to when Ywach realized he was missing some time after meeting Aizen like 150+ chapters ago, making the entire last three years of chapters a dream.

Yes. He's wasted his time this arc dedicating chapters upon chapters of pointless fights. This out of all the fights deserves a lengthy, and satisfying start, middle, and end.

Ichigo, and Renji aren't really there. They're part of his Shikai. He already has disrupted Yhwach senses during the first invasion. Hōgyoku adapts to any situation too. Aizen's gonna win this.

Aizen will do nothing.
I think Aizen will sacrifice himself in the end, becoming the new linchpin that holds the crumbling worlds together. The latest chapter made it blatantly clear that he did all this the for the sake of Soul Society. He's the hero the series really needs (but not the one it deserves, that would be Ichigo who's perfectly fitting considering the series' overall mediocrity). But whatever Kubo does, this finale will leave much to be desired, far too many threads that won't be brought together. So Dragon Ball still the only Shonen with a perfectly satisfying ending (at least out of the ones I've followed).

This series started like a baby chicken feeding on a normal feeding path of progression and it slowly growing, then somewhere along the way someone cut the head off and the thing stayed alive but walking randomly all over the place.

Once this manga ends, there will be much rejoicing. Bleach has overstayed his welcome for far too long. Time for it to go.

All that I will remember of that shonen are the following things: decent to great art, great to mediocre/forgetable characters, and absolutly abysmal story and execution.

So how many Shikai/Bankai did we not get to see (the abilities of) ? We haven't seen Shinji's IIRC or Jushiro's . Tessai may or may not ?

Never got to see Isane's Shikai either.

Aizen's still haven't been revealed yet.

I wonder if we'll ever see his since he doesn't have a zanpaktou now.

What did Yhwach even want with them? He never mentioned them ever again.

Probably just a list of people for his troops to watch out for.

Sometimes I wonder how much of this is on Kubo's editors?
