Made it to the final boss (the not real ending) and I missed two optional bosses. I could go back but I think I just want to finish it up at this point. I'll find them on NG+. I missed a lot of side quests too so I'll try to do it all on my second run.

Surprised I made it this far. Played the whole game offline with no help really. First run at a souls game from a non rpg guy. It's been a fun time and can't wait to do it again.

Well fuck, I'm stuck on the last boss of the Lower P. chalice,
Bloodletting Beast
, I just can't get a read on this guy.

I'm doing this just for the Beast Claws, is the
Beast possessed Soul
in Ailing Loran chalice easier than him? I have enough materials to use the chalice anyway.

ROM IS DEAD

FINALLY

edit: Best place to farm blood vials.
Witch's Abode, go out and kill the three axe executioners, and the ogre. Then use a Bold Hunter's Mark, rinse and repeat. When you feel done, use the souls to buy more blood vials. Much faster than the Central Yharnam method.

Anyone have advice on co-op for chalice dungeons? It never works for me. i wish from would have better MP systems in there games, I love souls and BB but MP is hit or miss for me. It rarely works, and chalice dungeons are convoluted

So I was finishing Lower Loran dungeon, and after a while getting used to Loran DB
east
, and fighting against the camera, finally did it. Then I returned to the Dream, and went to the first altar, where you can quick search for dungeons. Immediately pops up lower loran, with all the layers available to join. So I think, why not give LDB another run, see if I can beat it more easily now? I warp in there and there's another boss, sitting there (P.Elder). I attack him he doesn't move. Go back and try to use the lamp, it's not there. Go for the doors? Locked.

I get pissed and use a Mark. Throws me back to the same, locked room. Start to get a little nervous. Use a normal mark, same result. Tried to suicide with the chikage, the game sends me back to this fucking tomb. There doesn't seem to be a solution for this and I'm scratching my head on why did no one over at From notice that this could happen. So I'm trapped in a dungeon that I've already completed (albeit being someone else's) and with no solution in sight. The only "solution" was to erase my save and download a previous one from the cloud, but in doing so I lost practically all progress in lower loran. Can't wait to face my man AB and LDB again. Fun times.

Searching for a solution I came across a video of some other poor guy in the same exact situation and it's worrying that this can be a thing. It's really uncanny as it was the same exact thing I did, and the end result is the same.Check it out:

Seriously, I'm a huge Souls fanboy and I'll defend these games all day, every day of the week..but these kind of bugs are inexcusable. People lost their shit over the lift to a certain boss not working, this is 1000x worse. You literally get trapped in the tomb with no way to leave. Better hope you have a backup of the save or else you're screwed.
In short, never choose boss areas in quick search dungeons that you've completed, or else you will be trapped in the arena, with no lamp to warp to and no way to fight the boss.

That is awful. Maybe you should contact From ASAP so they can fix this in the patch coming out.

He's one of my favorite bosses. Roll into his attacks so you can get behind him.

I'm stuck there too :( Guys seems so hard and moves so fast, you can't even stick near him since he moves all over the place and his feet does damage.

Man, they aren't fucking around with the increased HP in NG+.

I swear Cleric Beast must have had something around 30k HP or more. Seemed like more than 10x that of NG. Took forever.

That big tackling move or that 'rocket' dash punch is insane though.

When he starts off with it i don't know which way to roll to- and rolling into it is not an option apparently

Yeah, even without lock on I can't keep track of him.

You need to share the chalice to open it for coop. If you know someone you want to coop with give them the chalice glyph so that you are in the same chalice. Chalice dungeon coop is little bit too convoluted IMO.

Yeah agree. We do that though and it never works, when it did work a few times as soon as we beat a boss you get sent back and he could not join again.

You also need to be on the same layer and have beaten the same bosses. Unless you use the short root(?) chalice. Might be just connectivity issues though as the netcode isn't super great.

It definitely is because I did so. You have to roll into it as he is doing it. Get the timing down. Go in with the mindset of learning his moves to avoid frustration. You've gotten this far, you can do it.

Killed MWN on a transition and had to twiddle my thumbs and wonder if I was about to have to do the fight over again. Thankfully the game figured it out after a few seconds.

So how do you do an entire dungeon in coop? You both need a fresh one and go back and forth doing each others layers? wtf was from smoking when they designed that lol.

I just beat Rom and I'm exploring the new area and everything is in
respawn mode and you have those giant ass spider things on the walls trying to kill me. WTF

Well you need the same dungeon (glyph) and then go back and forth doing everything twice. Progressing works like in the main game. I think it is okay design.

Kill the
Bell Maidens
to end respawning. Or just do it like and run like hell to the next lamp and ignore everyone.

Am I fucked out of getting the Yahar'gul Armor Set if I didn't pick it up from Hypogean Gaol before the transition? I can't find it when coming in via the Unseen Lamp.

Why can't you just join a friends dungeon and do it from start to finish? I dunno seems like poorly designed to me. Chalice dungeons are geared for coop, it should be easier then the main game to join up.

I hope they take notice, there have been some other players complaining about this but it doesn't seem widespread..I think they could easily solve this by letting you choose where do you want to warp to when using a Mark (last lamp or the Dream), which would be nice for other reasons (not having to see an extra loading screen when all you want to do is to go back to the dream).

I mean, I usually don't run into problems like these, but I had a problem recently where my saves weren't being uploaded to the cloud (it was full). So, for the first time in years, I started deleting stuff just to make room for new games. Luckily I did that, because sometimes psn bugs out and doesn't upload my saves, if that had happened this time I wouldn't have a "safe" save file to go back to and would lose a lot more progress.

Fortunately the save I had puts me right before AB and then I have layer 3 to do and LDB again, so it could be worse.. But if I didn't have a recent save I would flip my shit. It's really weird how they even let you warp into a boss arena. I wasn't trying to cheese anything -as the game only lets you warp to areas you've completed in your save - but given the fact that this was another version of the same dungeon, in someone else's "world" with its own glyph and whatnot, it should count as a new dungeon. Or at least block the heart portions of layers so that people don't fall for this.

I guess the only solution in that case would have to be ringing the beckoning bell and hope that someone would join outside the door and open it for me, so that the boss can be fought.

I always saw items such as nexial binding and darksign as a means to prevent this kind of bs from happening, in case you get literally stuck you can always bypass this. It worked perfectly in DeS, not so well in DaS (I still have good memories about Tomb of the Giants - I decided to go explore well into half of the dungeon, thinking that it was mandatory at that time and didn't even had the vessel OR lantern, so the homeward bone wasn't exactly helping there. I had to wing it until I could find my way back on my own - dozens of prism stones where spent- which looking back was a pretty cool experience). They should always give us the option when warping:

- Last Lamp
- Hunter's Dream

At that point I had like 250k echoes with me, wasn't even mad that I was going to lose them, I just wanted to gtfo of that place. I hate losing progress but it is what it is. Hope they address this, as it can happen to anyone, any time. Never warp to "heart" areas on other people's dungeons guys. I'm sure this can be easily replicated but I sure as shit won't try it again. Maybe just bad luck on my end, but you never know.

You should be able to get it at any point of the game if you have access to Yahar'gul.

That would be better but this is how they decided it should work.

NG bosses already had a stupid amount of health.

I don't like the health increases in this game. Makes it a real grind.

Guys, I have a potentially dumb doubt: I know I have to use the One Third of Umbilical Cord things before a specific fight, but should I use them after anything? Like, do I hold on to them and use before the fight or just use them as I find them?

Doesn't matter when you take them. Just take it before final boss.

If you want all endings in one playthrough wait. If you just want one ending then take them anytime.

That is one of the legitimate poor design choices for me. Using the hunter's mark should take you back to the hunter's dream. Don't understand why it doesn't do that.

Wow, it's insane how fast this +10 Threaded Cane rips through Amygdala. Just helped like 10 people beat it. The running R2 is perfect for hitting anything in the head.
FTFY!
Fr. Gascoigne? I just beat him. When you go through the fog just run straight to the first tombstones. He might jump and should miss you 9/10 times. Then lock on and circle the tombstones. Your weapon should be able to clip through which makes his first form really easy. When he starts to change back off to not get caught in the blast and sprint up the stairs to the right. When he starts coming up roll down and immediately turn right back on yourself. He should stay on the stairs where you can hit him (and be hit so be careful!). If he manages to come round then dodge round him and turn sharply up the stairs, he should know be stuck down below you where again you can hit him easily (but he can still hit you). makes the fight manageable anyway.

Parry is good but I use the whip in second form and not sure if you can do a visceral, didn't seem to work for me anyway.
Visceral Attacks sadly have the absolute definition of nothing to do with the weapon you have equpped, and yes F.G can be visceraled in his transformed state.

Yeah, even without lock on I can't keep track of him.

Keeping unlocked is probably best, unfortunately it requires a lot of manual camera work while keeping focus on the boss but it really is the most effective strategy...shameless plug of my fight with him.

Whew. I had decided to give up on platinum after starting on the defiled chalice dungeon. Just made another attempt on the first boss out of curiosity and managed to beat her using repeating parry/riposte. I can't even believe how many attempts that was, and supposedly, the other bosses are much worse. Idk why I'm still doing this, but this fkn game just gets its hooks in.

Is there any compelling reason to explore the entire defiled dungeon? I'd prefer to just make boss runs if possible.

I just beat E
brietas
. What is the point of the
blue pile of stuff on the other side of the room
? It lets me inspect it but I can't do anything to it.

Alternatively, I'm wondering if I'm just too under leveled? Most people seem to be fighting him at around lv 100 while I'm only Lv 78.

Apparently you can save your file to a USB and then transport it back.

That's how some unlock multiple endings and get the trophies wihtout having to replay.

One backup save before one choice that decides your ending. That way you can see all endings without having to redo the whole game.

Ah I thought so. I'll keep it in mind and decide when I get the final umbilical cord thing. Thanks (:

After literally spending my entire Sunday trying to take her out, I finally FUCKING beat Ebritas!!! For some reason she was easily the hardest boss for me so far.

Now I've just got to beat Martyr Logarius and head through Nightmare Menses towards the end of the game!
