Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

I just made a lower hintertomb root chalice dungeon. I don't know anything about what's in it, but I do know there is a bell woman who summons for PVP right at the start of the first layer. So it should be ideal to set up PVP with.

If anyone is interested the glyph code is gk69s212.

I'm going to plug this chalice dungeon of mine some more. Aside from the bell-ringing woman in Layer 1, there is a +200 frenzy res deep sea rune (edit: actually, it's possible it's +100, not +200. Very sorry!) in the pre-boss bonus area On Layer 2. Haven’t explored Layer 3 yet.

Also, it seems my dungeon had a visitor. Someone had left a message in one location, and there was a bloodstain just before the deep sea rune. Whoever you were who visited, I also died there once. I hope you continued on to the rune!

Again, the glyph code is gk69s212

The Chalice Dungeons are pretty friggin repetitive. I would rather they were just not there. A PVP arena would've been better for the game's long terms life. Who knows what the updates will bring but once I get the drops for the last couple trophies I need I'm out and will just start a new game focusing on builds for the PVP if it ever gets developed.

Game is till amazing but the quality difference between the main quest and the Chalice Dungeons is immense.
Miyazaki worked on the main game but not chalice dungeons apparently, it was pretty obvious but still

Also there are alot of people in other communitys that set up pvp chalice dungeons, might wnna look around for that

I have no idea why I can't just beat Ebritas. I'm getting pretty good at hugging his side, but I always manage to screw up right at the end. I'm on the 15th try at this point it feels like.

That is what was happening to me. I would do so well until the end. LOL do you have the cannon. You can get 3 quick shots on him using +5 bullets and usually get a visceral attack. So you can get him to about half health then use the cannon and it brings him way down so that you can be patient and get the last attacks in.

That's a lot of vitality. Damn.

Yeah. I figured that since finishing the dungeons is the last thing I need to do to platinum the game, I might as well go all out on vitality just to make the most difficult part that bit more bearable.

Those levels should be more than enough for the Defiled Chalice and yes Keeper is just the beginning. Next two are the real pain of that chalice and will probably break your spirit more than once.

I can hardly wait...

The chalice dungeons just need loot, badly, there's some but it's few and far between, with most of the good stuff in Root dungeons only. I think the repetitive nature of it wouldn't sting so much if we were getting real rewards.

*opens massive chest/coffin in crazy hard bonus room*

Tomb Mold(2).

C'mon son.

The root chalice dungeons are where mad loot can be found. So far I've found uncanny versions of threaded cane and hunter axe, as well as a +200 frenzy res rune and a pretty good droplet gemstone.

So there's a pretty ridiculous glitch, if you use the roar gesture near a lamp, that lamp will play the sound every time you get near it or spawn at it after death.

Yeah, I'll have to dump some supplies into it, as it's not leveled at all, but that sounds like a good tactic.

The late game sucks honestly, they decided to have level after level with some of the most frustrating enemies to fight, respawning enemies, frenzy darts out of nowhere and insight stealers with extremely generous grabs and spells.

Just beat C
elestial Emissary
on my first try. Kind of a joke boss. I'm level 65 now. Should I give E
brietas
a shot or is it just going to be really frustrating?

I was level 95 or something, but I beat E
brietas
on my first go with very little trouble. Honestly, the boss wasn't very complicated at all. Its attacks just do a shit ton of damage and I imagine they one shot a lot of people. I soon realized that Vitality is probably the most important stat in the game and had it at around 40 or so when I faced the boss in question, so no one-shots. I really didn't even get hit that much.

How did you reach level 95 at that part, I just tested Eb and I'm level 57.

hmmmm im curious how far into the game i am

i am at the end of the forbidden woods i think since those 3 snake ghost boss things are blocking a crept or entrance to a new place, just wondering if i am like half way through the game

So are root dungeons different everytime you enter them from hunters dream or do you need to remove them and use it again for it to be random?

To be honest I was at level 89 by that point. Although I fought her just before the final boss, so I may have got there way after I originally could have.

About half way if memory serves.

They are the same until you remake them. If you are farming, it's best to lookup what loot you are looking for and join someone else's glyph. Everything found in chests will be the same.

What are the odds...

I've had a note placed at Logarius fog wall for a week now. No votes at all. And right when I try to get myself killed for some testing I get a positive vote and my health is topped off.

Cathedral ward enemies gain new attacks, the summons from the witch fight can appear in certain locations in Hemwick Charnel if it's night.

seeing the amygdala, hunter dream music changes to blood moon phase music

60 =
hearing the baby cries.

Bit disappointing that that's all they did with it.

Just had the strangest invader. I was doing coop with my friend when he invaded us. Instead of attacking, he open up the shortcut and made a gesture right by the nightmare fog the whole time.

A lot of the mechanics seem unfinished to me.
Insight is barely important, covenants are absolutely useless. Beast mode is extremely meh..just a small damage
I love the game, but man it could be so much bigger and more.

Logarius down, my favorite kind of fight, overwhelming at first but you slowly learn openings and opportunities and by the end you're just taking him apart.

Is it true that by NG+3 or more that even having maxed stats will leave you pretty vulnerable and weak?

Quoting myself again because I didn't see anyone answer. I'm really curious about this.

This cannot be right... I been
hearing the baby cry ever since I am over 40+ insight
but maybe thats a
Nightmare Area thing?

Time to join the elite.

My first foray into the Souls universe. I'm pretty happy right now.

Overall impressions. Fantastic game. One of the most enjoyable and punishing game experiences i've had in a very long time. It's a hard game but (mostly) fair. I loved the variety of environments, the art direction and score were incredible and the combat and sense of exploration was very satisfying. Some of the boss battles were among the best encounters I've come across in a game. Definitely one of those rare titles that lives up to the hype surrounding it and probably the first must have exclusive on PS4.
Congrats man and welcome to the club! I agree with your overall impression. This was my favorite game of the year and last year. The combat is fantastic and very well done.

Speak for yourself. Late game was a very good challenge to test the skill and mettle of the player. And honestly, it's not that difficult. It's like when you get in the shower and the water is cold;the sudden temperature jolts you but you get used to it.

T
he One Reborn
slaughtered in the first try. It was pretty easy, considering I was coming fresh off the 25 attempts it took me to kill E
brietas
.

This was just what I needed to get my confidence back up again lol

I've been noticing that myself a few times but thought I was just hearing things...
That's a weird bug. Seems there's not only Blood echoes in the game. :P

So you'll basically never see the ultimate insight stuff until NG+ and then it's shit you've already seen anyway.

That's...lame.

Not really. I ran around with 99 insight most of the second half of the game. There's not that much to use it for when you don't summon people and the few sets you buy for it don't really crash the insight bank either.

Where do I have to go after defeating the Hemwicks Witch? Is that already everything for that area? The only path left I know is taking the opposite direction when standing im front of the BSB to where the two Hunters are.

source for it?

I knew everything here before.
and always told people hat enemies and especially bosses didn't get harder.

you beat Rom, thats why.

If you've defeated VA, go back to the door that requires a password.

Has anyone figured out how to open that hatch on the ground floor of the building in Byrgenwerth? Driving me crazy but I'm starting to think its for DLC later on. I'm holding out hope its some super secret that nobody has figured out yet :P

Had to take a break a bit after opening the
Unseen Village door during the blood moon
...they throw way WAY too much freaky stuff out all at once.

EDIT: Playing this game almost entirely blind has been one hell of an experience....just constant surprises

Why is it that some items have lower physical defense but higher vs blunt and vs thrust stats? Aren't there only blunt and thrust physical attacks in the game, not counting gun damage?

Some guy on GFaqs been posting about the data in the book.
Also you are correct, shit hits the fan when you beat
Rom
, let me say wearing the Golden Headphones makes this game super creepy when you hear the
baby cry
somewhere off in the distance.

Holy shit, Ebrietas done on the first try, I can't believe it after how much I heard this boss gives people trouble. Glad I went with an arcane build, not a lot of video games gets your heart pumpin like that. :whew:

Why the fuck do I keep getting stunned against
Yharnam, the last boss in Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice
? Seems like every time I hit her, I get stunned and she wails on me.

I'm going to plug this chalice dungeon of mine some more. Aside from the bell-ringing woman in Layer 1, there is a +200 frenzy res deep sea rune in the pre-boss bonus area On Layer 2. Haven’t explored Layer 3 yet.

Also, it seems my dungeon had a visitor. Someone had left a message in one location, and there was a bloodstain just before the deep sea rune. Whoever you were who visited, I also died there once. I hope you continued on to the rune!

Thanks dude. I could use this on NG plus for you know where. Less headaches this way.

If Im not mistaken it's
the baby, when you hear him cry get out or you get trapped with a magic thingy.
Atleast it worked that way for me

Oh snap I need this. Hopefully you keep this open later in the day!
