BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

I can't believe im this excited about a game that is going to kick my ass so much. How long is it taking everyone to get use to not having a shield?

I always played shield builds in the DeS and DaS. Got used to Bloodborne really quick, and will never go back to slow and tanky build. The combat is just so god damn good! And smooth! And good!

6-7 hours? I was really stupid at the beginning and your have to change your playstyle if you played turtle or mage

I always played slow in the previous Souls games so I'm not sure how long its going to take me to get use to being more aggressive.

Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 rank amongst my favourite games ever. I loved how challenging they were. Is it then safe to say i will like Bloodborne? I know both games can't really be compared but..

Yes. Bloodborne is even faster than the last Souls games so you will feel a bit more like in Ninja Gaiden. Both of them can still not be compared (well other than that both games are difficult as fuck)

There's no dual wielding?

Does that mean that there is no non-transforming weapons?

Or no one handed weapons?

This sounds weird. You have to have a gun or a shield?

Shield isn't really an option, there's only a single poor wooden shield I believe.

So far it seems like all main-hand weapons are transforming, there may be some that don't however. But as previously mentioned, some weapons take up both hands in one of their forms.

i think it just means that there is no special moveset for dual wielding weapons. you can dual wield, but you just have to press their buttons respectively?

correct me if im wrong though.

I was on the fence with this game (but leaning towards buying it) until last night. I watched a few streams before going to bed and I was so impressed. The enemy and level designs are fantastic. As are enemy animations.

Wrong. You cant even put primary weapons in you left hand at all. Every primary weapon has two "functions", usually being a transformation into an entirely different weapon type. For example, shortsword in that vid transforms into two swords when you press L1.

Kinda crappy explanation, I should really put my phone down and try to really sleep now lol

"My personal view is that the world we live in can be a harsh and unkind place," he said. "To create a game world that is always kind to players--that's not how I see the real world. Whether it be nature or society, it's often a harsh and unkind environment--so that translates into my games."

Where are the reviews?

edit: ok I didn't read the above. so sue me

This late embargo seems really weird. Is Sony scared of something?

How are the gaphics?
And wtf is CA?

The top picture is an extreme example. It's not as bad in BB. But still pretty annoying imo.

Early spoiler for anyone who's played

I killed the old guy in the Graveyard Haven area accidentally lol. Now he's not coming back. How bad have I messed up?

So someone had mentioned you are able to
summon help before the father gascoigne fight, even when in offline mode

Where is this done and how?
I just got the summoning bell and other tools[

If I'm not mistaken you have to look for a note on the ground which tells you to ring the bell.

Hmmm, I must have missed it. I'll take another look today, thanks.

Also this is possibly a very silly question but... how the hell do you parry exactly? The game doesnt do a very good job of explaining certain things to you, I feel if I could parry it would make so many fights much easier for me haha.... plz halp!

Shoot the enemy when they're in the middle of an attack, then step up to them and attack when they're kneeling on the ground.

Also am I the only one that really loathes these enemies? For me they are the worst enemies of any souls game.

You have to shoot your gun before you get attacked , counter frames differ from enemy to enemy , then you come up to them while they lay on ground and hit r1 if i remember correctly from alpha. Anyway for that second boss fight there is a
music box item when you use it during the fight he gets transformed faster but from time to time he gets stunned by the music , i do not know if you have to spam using it , but i do not know where to find it as well
Did you get past the first boss ? How many insight points do you have ?

The shoot to stun mechanic is so far beyond me, its really fucking hard to time/grasp.

I never played Dark or Demon Souls since i don't think they are my type of game. However, ever since Bloodbourne was announced, i've been reading and watching every new piece of info. I even watched a big part of Mendrox's stream over the weekend and wondered if i shouldn't give this a go. The game certainly looks special.
